Recruits (Recruits) by Thomas Locke Pdf

For more than a decade, twins Sean and Dillon Kirrel have felt pulled toward another world--a place they have sketched out in detail and posted on the walls of their bedroom. They are certain it is out there. Soon after their seventeenth birthday, they are approached by a clandestine scout. To him, Earth is just a distant and unmonitored outpost of human civilization. But he explains that Sean and Dillon share a unique gift--the ability to transfer instantly from place to place. Transitors who are also twins are especially rare, and so they are offered an opportunity to prove themselves as recruits to the human assembly. If they don't succeed within thirty days, their minds will be wiped. Either they make the grade as inter-planetary travelers--or this never happened. From the infinite imagination of Thomas Locke comes this otherworldly new series that will challenge young readers' understanding of time, space, and human limitations.

The Recruits by J.M. Cranford Pdf

After miraculously surviving seven grueling months as a prisoner of war, Sergeant First Class Hamilton Riley maintains his spiritual cover in the US Army as a recruiter to embark on his next kingdom missionsaving four lost souls in Central Illinois. As he continues to surrender to the leading of the Holy Spirit, he encounters Hoyt, Salinas, Bradford, and West and ushers them into the journey of their own spiritual transformations. The four new believers enlist in Gods army and begin their own basic training, preparing for their mission in the real battlefield of life. The God story of each of these new recruits unfolds over the course of their spiritual training camp that mysteriously mimics that of the modern-day military. Their eyes gradually begin to open to the spiritual warfare that exists in and around each of them as they participate in exercises that utilize their gifts, the spiritual disciplines, and their relational bonds. Hoyt, Salinas, Bradford, and West have answered the call; and now, as soldiers, they must prepare to don the armor.

An Assessment of All-volunteer Force Recruits by United States. General Accounting Office Pdf

During fiscal year 1974, the first full year of operation under the all-volunteer force concept, the Department of Defense (DOD) recruiting commands have met the services' strength goals with no appreciable decrease in quality of recruits. The number of enlistees with high school diplomas declined slightly, while the number with average test scores increased. GAO found evidence that DOD may overstate quality in its reports. Progress is being made toward adopting a single aptitude test to be used by all services, however an agreement must be reached regarding interpretation of test results. The high school recruiting and testing program is expensive in relation to the number of actual accessions based on high school test scores. Three of the four services have initiated education liaison programs which are duplicative and create the undesirable impression that the services are competing.

An Assessment of the Values of New Recruits by Peter F. Ramsberger Pdf

"The senior leadership of the Army realizes the important role values play in the Army. Values allow the operating norms and rules of the Army to become meaningful, stable, positive; and hence, capable of being internalized. In the past, the Army has collected data on the values of active duty soldiers. However there is only limited knowledge of the values new recruits bring to the Army or their relationship to the seven core values-Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage-emphasized by the Army leadership. In this effort, these core and other values were assessed among entering Active Army recruits so as to establish the basis for tracking soldier values from initial entry training through the first tour of duty." -- Stinet.
