Remember It! by Nelson Dellis Pdf

A lively illustrated guide “filled with clever tips and tricks for remembering like a memory champion” (Joshua Foer, New York Times–bestselling author of Moonwalking with Einstein). Throughout his research into memory theory, four-time USA Memory Champion Nelson Dellis found existing memory improvement guides to be wanting—overcomplicated, dry, and stodgy. So he decided to write a book that is approachable and fun, centered on what people actually need to remember. In Remember It!, Dellis teaches us how to make the most of our memory, using his competition-winning techniques. Presenting the information in a user-friendly way, Dellis offers bite-size chapters, addressing things we wish we could remember but often forget: names, grocery lists, phone numbers, where you left your keys—you name it! This fast-paced, highly illustrated tour of the inner workings of the brain makes improving your memory simple and fun.

The Way I Remember It by Walter Rudin Pdf

Walter Rudin's memoirs should prove to be a delightful read specifically to mathematicians, but also to historians who are interested in learning abou his colourful history and ancestry. Characterized by his personal style of elegance, clarity, and brevity, Rudin presents in the first part of the book his early memories about his family history, his boyhood in Vienna throughout the 1920s and 1930s, and his experiences during World War II. Part II offers samples of his work, in which he relates where problems came from, what their solutions led to, and who else was involved. As those who are familiar with Rudin's writing will recognize, he brings to this book the same care, depth, and originality that is the hallmark of his work. This book contains memories from my life. The reason for writing them down is not to show how bad things were in those days, but to give the reader an idea of what life was like.

As I Remember It by Howard Nelson Pdf

This is a story of my life as I remember it, beginning in the Summer Lake Valley in the year of 1916. Most families in the early 1900’s didn’t have much and didn’t expect much. Even after my folks were able to buy the farm in Summer Lake Valley it was “nip and tuck”, you might say, to survive and to keep up the payments. Even after I got married in 1944 our life wasn’t easy. Wages were low, even after World War II. I could have gone to college under the G.I. bill since I had been in the Navy, but I was more interested in buying a farm and raising cattle and sheep. Most ranchers were having to go see the banker every year to borrow operating money so farms were not really a very good investment. Still, I think that when we were able to buy our little ten-acre farm it became the highlight of our family’s life. I enjoyed the fishing and deer hunting in Lake County, and took good advantage of it while we were there. That was all fun at the time, but now that the retirement years are here it has to be okay. I will always remember the days on the little farm and raising a family as being my best days.

Summary of Nelson Dellis's Remember It! by Everest Media, Pdf

Please note: This is a companion version & not the original book. Sample Book Insights: #1 We’ve all grown accustomed to the frustration of memory lapses, and the little things we do to get by in spite of them. We often forget what we want to remember, and we never forget what changes our lives. #2 I had always been interested in numbers, and I thought that being able to calculate in my head would make me a little sharper in my field. I found the Extreme Mental Calculation World Cup, where the best head-mathletes flex their brains by incorporating memorization techniques in their calculations. #3 The best way to remember anything is to turn it into a mental image. When I first learned this, I was so fascinated that I didn’t care about how to apply the techniques in my everyday life. #4 The best part of success is the opportunity it affords me to talk about memory to new people all the time. I’m proud of my accomplishments, but the best part of success is the opportunity it affords me to show people how easy, fun, and life-changing it is to learn these techniques and put them to use.

My Life - As I Remember It by David R. Wilson Pdf

A mature, intelligent, everyday person, Dianne Stewart, has read My Life As I Remember It and Time Tested Thinking, As It Seems to Me . Her succinct observation is: I think both books are extremely valuable. I will always be in debt to the many good people I was lucky to meet and walk the roads of life with. This book is about them. About the times we lived together. About the many ways life united us and pushed us around. About the dead and the living who deserve more than gratitude. It is also about all the wonderful places which revealed their beauty, riches, character, and were my home, where i learned to look at the trees as living and breathing systems, to follow the birds in their flight, and to listen to the winds of times.

"King David: 'My Life as I Remember It'" by R. Furman Kenney Pdf

This book portrays the life of the great King David from a first person viewpoint. Thus it enables the reader to see the life and times of King David as though he were on the scene. It paints a verbal portrait of King David in a "warts and all" way, that is, it tells of his strengths and weaknesses. Some of the high points in his life, such as slaying the giant Goliath, his sin of adultery with the beautiful Bathsheba, fleeing from the army of his rebellious son Absalom, are vividly portrayed from his own viewpoint. This book is designed to enable the reader to understand how King David became known as a "man after God's own heart".
