Education for All by Anonim Pdf

Background: The Lao People's Democratic Republic (PDR) Education for All National Plan of Action (EFA NPA) for 2003-2015 seeks to accomplish three major tasks: equitable access, improved quality and relevance and strengthened education management. Purpose: To design a National Education For All Action Plan for basic education in Lao PDR which covers early childhood care and development (ECCD), primary education, lower secondary education, youth and adult literacy, and skills development programmes for disadvantaged groups. Findings: The National EFA Action Plan is costed and includes a resource implementation assessment within a macroeconomic and annual fiscal framework. It also discusses EFA performance since 1990; EFA development plans and targets up to 2015; and a strategy for EFA plan implementation. Conclusion: Close coordination between the Lao Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), National Growth and Poverty Eradication Strategy (NGPES) and the Lao PDR EFA National Plan of Action is essential for this plan to succeed as those areas where EFA problems are most severe are those in which poverty is greatest. The NPA has been developed to meet EFA goals for universal basic and primary education, reach disadvantaged populations in rural and urban areas, promote community participation of basic education and literacy at the grassroots level, and improve the relevance and quality of basic education through enhancing the learning opportunities for children, youth and adults. Citation: Lao PDR. Ministry of Education. "Education for All (EFA) National Plan of Action 2003-2015." Bangkok, UNESCO, 2005. 104p. (Contains 24 tables, 3 charts, 4 figures, and 13 footnotes.) Lao People’s Democratic Republic by International Monetary Fund Pdf

The macroeconomic performance for Lao People’s Democratic Republic is encouraging, but underlying fragilities remain. Progress needs to be made on structural reforms. On the fiscal side, the immediate challenge is to avoid an unsustainable expansion of spending. The medium-term priority is to mobilize revenues to enable Lao People’s Democratic Republic to meet its development needs, within a sustainable fiscal framework. Progress under the Public Expenditure Management Strengthening Program is essential to strengthen fiscal management. The country’s high debt burden requires prudent debt management.

North American Scholars of Comparative Education by Erwin H. Epstein Pdf

This book brings together fifteen comprehensive studies of significant North American scholars of comparative education from the 20th century. Providing relevant biographical detail, chapters analyse each scholar’s approach to comparative education and their on-going influences on the field. Comparative studies in education have long benefited from the work of significant individuals who have collectively advanced the field, making it a vibrant and intellectually fruitful area of educational research. Offering a unique, systematic exploration of the work of the founders of comparative educational research, North American Scholars of Comparative Education emphasizes the importance of understanding the accomplishments of key historical figures in the field, and considers the legacies such individuals have created. Chapters move beyond descriptions of comparativists’ work, to illustrate the pivotal role played by each scholar in driving a progression through humanistic and scientific approaches, to new epistemological traditions within the field of comparative education. This in turn reveals critical historical-epistemological transitions which have had lasting impacts on the field. Including contributions written by leading scholars in the field, this volume will be of great interest to researchers, academics and scholars in comparative and international education.
