Responsible Management in Emerging Markets: A Multisectoral Focus is in response to the dearth of literature on responsible management in emerging economies. It discusses diverse themes at the intersection of corporate social responsibility (CSR), green business (marketing) and sustainability management, with the view to addressing some begging issues in responsible management. Hinged on the centrality of SDG 12 (responsible production and consumption), this volume focusses on how businesses, nations, and continents across the globe can actualize a sustainable paradigm, now and in the future. It offers fresh theoretical, policy, and managerial insights into the complex processes and relationships that mediate businesses’ ability to deliver on their social development promise, through sustainability and green initiatives. This book discusses some forward and backward linkages between the emerging economy context and responsible management. Featuring cognate topics on CSR, green marketing, green fashion and green entrepreneurship, it offers a Sustainable Development Roadmap (SDR) that is applicable for businesses in emerging economies. This volume is a valuable resource for professionals and academics in emerging economies who desire to understand how firms are demonstrating responsible management through green initiatives, corporate social responsibility and sustainable policies and practices.

Responsible Management by Richard Ennals Pdf

This book takes a critical view on corporate practice, governmental action and the general approach to Corporate Social Responsibility. It draws on experience from the Workplace Innovation movement and argues that, as with motherhood and apple pie, it is hard to oppose CSR, with a community of well-meaning people. It is however necessary to challenge the foundations on which it is based. Many accounts of CSR assume a consistent model of capitalism around the world. It is suggested that capitalism can be given a human face, as companies adopt programmes which go beyond the minimum legal requirements. This builds on traditions of optional corporate philanthropy. However, without changing the underlying working of the company, only cosmetic changes are made. In the author's words: “lipstick is applied to the capitalist pig”. It can be a mistake to read too much into “Responsible Management”, when the culture of management is designed around irresponsibility. Companies have developed elaborate schemes of outsourcing, in an environment of limited liability. This cannot easily be overcome through gestures. This book seeks to engage readers and to provoke thoughts. It can be angry and polemical, but it points a finger directly at ongoing superficial developments.

Responsible Management Education by Ranjjni Swamy Pdf

This edited collection emerged from the need to know how business schools in Asia are inculcating responsible management. Data for the book was sourced from (a) the workshop proceedings of the 6th PRME Asia Forum held in November 2015 and (b) case studies submitted as part of the Forum. Academics from India, China, Philippines, New Zealand, USA and Hong Kong (who taught in Asia) contributed to the workshop / the case studies. The book describes how some Asian business schools are incorporating ethics, social responsibility and sustainability into their curricular and extra-curricular activities. It identifies the challenges faced in providing such education and the implications thereof. In the process, it captures the unique flavour of Asian business schools. Business schools in Asia appear to have introduced several stand-alone courses on ethics and corporate responsibility. They have adopted pedagogies suited to the profile of their students. Many have promoted a concern for the poor through volunteering, projects or internships with NGOs. However, few have made responsible management a central part of their business school curriculum. Greater integration of responsible management into the curriculum requires supportive administrative policies, greater cross-functional interaction and the development of context-appropriate learning materials.

Emergent Responsible Management by Katsuhiko Kokubu,Kimitaka Nishitani,Hirotsugu Kitada,Mitsunobu Ando Pdf

This book proposes emergent responsible management as a new tool to address the infinite nature of managerial responsibility and discusses how to bring out activities based on infinite responsibility in organizations. Whereas the concept of responsibility of corporations has been brought to the forefront with increasing recognition of the importance of corporate social responsibility (CSR), its essence has not been fully perceived, which has inevitably resulted in the restrictive feeling associated with organizational CSR activities. This book not only involves theoretical discussion by shedding light on the notions of ‘responsibility’ and ‘emergence’ underpinning the theory of emergent responsible management; it also provides practical insights with several case studies to examine how activities reflecting these fundamental elements have been practiced. In this way, the authors propose corresponding organizational design and process to encourage its continued practice. In addition, the effects of emergent responsible management and how it can be applied to new issues such as fulfilling sustainable development goals (SDGs) are also examined. The book is highly recommended for business practitioners as well as consultants who deal with CSR in everyday practice.

Responsible Management and Sustainable Consumption by Piotr Wachowiak,Anna Dąbrowska,Monika Zajkowska,Celina Sołek-Borowska Pdf

While the number of publications on corporate social responsibility has skyrocketed since the last economic crisis that began in 2008, challenges still remain in the modern economy that make socially responsible business a leading topic both in the field of science and business practice. The concept of corporate social responsibility covers not only practices implemented by enterprises but also attitudes represented by consumers and other market entities. Though much has been written about corporate social responsibility and the potential benefits it offers businesses, there remains a misunderstanding of corporate social responsibility (CSR), responsible management (RM) and responsible consumption (RC). Examining the level of responsible management practices implemented by Polish enterprises and assessing consumer attitudes in the field of corporate social responsibility will serve to identify best business practices and enhance management theory. Because this research examines both sides of the market, companies and consumers, it offers a more holistic view on social responsibility, responsible management and responsible consumer behaviour. The contribution of this book is the development of the assessment tool for measuring social responsibility of every enterprise – Enterprise Social Responsibility Index (EnSRI) and Consumer Social Responsibility Index (CnSRI). This book is written to meet the needs of academics, students, company owners and managers. It also provides an integrated view of responsibility from the point of view of both enterprises and consumers.

Responsible Management Accounting and Controlling by Daniel A. Ette Pdf

Sustainability is becoming a business megatrend. This book looks into why controlling departments are rarely involved in sustainability topics and do not contribute to corporate responsibility. The author postulates the following assertion: responsible controlling is indispensable in making an organization more responsible. Inside, you’ll learn a specific course of action for the development of a responsible controlling framework toward decision making, which is based on an ethically driven, reflective fundament in order to make a company a responsible business. Through the development of a responsible controlling framework, the author gives recommendations for how controlling should be altered in terms of both tools and mindsets. A twelve-step responsible controlling roadmap is detailed, showing how controlling can contribute to foster a corporation’s responsible behavior and how sustainability topics can be integrated in management decisions. The conclusion of Responsible Management Accounting and Controlling reiterates the main goal of this book: responsible controlling must first and foremost be understood as a mindset. Responsible controlling, therefore, is an uncommon but indispensable approach of making an organization more responsible.
