This book is a continuation of the book Whisper Lane. Both books are set in a lovely village, Marton cum Tiddleworth. The village is very friendly and picturesque, a wonderful place to live anyway, but several magical events happen in this village, making it even more special.
The story is about a young couple, James and Sally, who have come to live in the village of Marton cum Tiddleworth. They had spent some time looking for that special house in which to spend their married life together before they found this lovely house. They were never sure though if they did find the house or if the house found them. As they come to settle into village life, they come to discover and really appreciate its magical qualities.

Hannah Arendt's last philosophical work was an intended three-part project entitled The Life of the Mind. Unfortunately, Arendt lived to complete only the first two parts, Thinking and Willing. Of the third, Judging, only the title page, with epigraphs from Cato and Goethe, was found after her death. As the titles suggest, Arendt conceived of her work as roughly parallel to the three Critiques of Immanuel Kant.
