Revelation Unsealed by James L. Resseguie Pdf

This narrative commentary systematically examines John's Apocalypse from a narrative critical perspective. After an introduction to narrative criticism, the volume focuses on point of view, setting, rhetoric, character, and plot in the Book of Revelation. The rhetorical and symbolic significance of numerals are discussed at length as are the multifaceted characters in the book such as demonic animals (locust, beasts, dragon, birds) and apocalyptic animals (lamb, four living creatures). The symbolic significance of topographical, architectural, agricultural, and other settings is emphasized. The final chapter of the book is a summary of some of the major theological themes of Revelation. The volume provides a useful methodology for the study of a much disputed book of the Bible.

Revelation Unsealed by Donald A. Salerno Jr Pdf

Finally, a book which simplistically, insightfully and systematically presents an integrated, concrete overview of the 22 chapters, or 404 verses, of the book of Revelation. "Revelation Unsealed" is unique in a number of major areas. It is the first book to approach the text of Revelation from what is termed the Pre-Wrath Rapture perspective. This is the hotly debated view that the church will enter the Seventieth Week, undergo the great tribulation of the Antichrist, and be gathered off the earth before the wrath of God unfolds. This view is presented in a logical scenario, which is then placed within the overall context of the Apocalypse. Also contained is an entirely fresh biblical perspective of the emergence of the Antichrist. Additionally, this book also fully covers the relevance of world events, the amazing track record of biblical prophecy, the fulfillment of the seven religious feast of Israel, the battle of Armageddon, and the Millennial Kingdom of Jesus Christ. All of these issues are addressed in a concise and simple manner with numerous charts and illustrations to aid the reader in easily conceptualizing and visualizing what is outlined. Its contents will challenge both the newest Christian and the seasoned biblical scholar.

Daniel and Revelation Unsealed by Mark Shipowick Pdf

God through the prophet Amos has promised humanity that He will reveal himself and his Providences in human history. All of the important events in the history of mankind from the fall of Adam to the close of time have been laid out for us in the prophecies of scripture. Regarding the future God's promise to us is: "Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets." Amos 3:7 The books of Daniel and Revelation are one prophecy but given in two parts. The two books describe events from the time of ancient Babylon to the return of Christ. Daniel was commanded to seal the meaning of his prophecies so that they would only be understood fully at "the time of the end." Daniel 12:9. Six hundred years later the Apostle John was shown the end of time when the mysteries of Daniel were to be unsealed for the final generation: Rev 4:1 After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter. Rev 4:2 And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne. Rev 5:1 And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. Rev 5:2 And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? Rev 5:3 And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon. Rev 5:4 And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon. Rev 5:5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof. The above verses foretell a time when God will send a strong angel to earth to awaken a widespread interest in the prophecies by proclaiming in a loud voice: "Who is worthy to open them?" In our unprecedented times of global civil unrest, pandemic, disasters and looming New World Order humanity is primed now by the question of the angel. Like no other time in history mankind waits for the answer with baited breath. This itself is the strongest evidence that the divine answer is about to be given. God will it clear that no intelligent being, mortal or immortal, is qualified to reveal the future except the Lion of Judah, Jesus Christ, as He breaks and fulfills them one by one. Since global condition indicate that time is here, this document combines Daniel and Revelation together and cross-references them for easy reference. In the cross-references D stands for Daniel and R for Reveltion. The goal is to help make the application of the prophecies plain, even as they unfold before our eyes. To make the best use of it, first read the book of Revelation through in one sitting (it is short) to get an overview. As you read notice that the scenes alternate between scenes in the heavenly temple where Christ performs his final atonement and scenes on earth. And in all of the study of scripture the primary question the student should especially be asking is what does the Lord want us personally to do with this information in terms of how we should live and be effective servants and witnesses for him. There is a study supplement on some of the main themes contained in these books also available on Amazon called Daniel and Revelation Unsealed - A Study Supplement. This is intended as an aid but has not been included here to underline the point that Daniel and Revelation themselves should be the main focus of study because these are the books that have heaven's emphatic endorsement for our times. No other scripture promises such a rich blessing to the sincere student. There is no surer end-time road map.

Living as Wheat Among Weeds by Marilyn O. Flower Pdf

This book, a rebirth of Flower’s master’s thesis “The Woman Clothed with the Sun with the Moon under Her Feet: A Postcolonial African/Western Contextual Discussion of Revelation 12” published in 2010, employs an interdisciplinary approach to contrast African and Western Christianity. African and Western beliefs and practices, compared using Revelation 12, vary significantly in some areas. The study of these differences illuminates the hope found in Christianity which radiates from the grace of God and Christ’s command for Christians everywhere to love one another.

A Dynamic Reading of the Holy Spirit in Revelation by Hee Youl Lee Pdf

A Dynamic Reading of the Holy Spirit in Revelation attempts to read the book of Revelation in a new way as a narrative, embracing literary elements such as plot, point of view, narrative voice, character, and story structure to help readers discover its meanings by tracing the story anew. Lee's unique narrative perspective offers readers a bird's-eye view to experience four levels of the story: heaven, earth, abyss, and the lake of fire. Lee develops a theological account of John's pneumatology and surely extends Christian pneumatology, a doctrine inseparable from the life of the church. Readers will come away with a greater understanding of the role of the Holy Spirit, which will enable them to enjoy a deeper fellowship with the Holy Spirit more intimately than ever before. Lee portrays the book of Revelation as a mission-oriented book that tells how the kingdom of God will be built in this world through spiritual warfare, rather than as a book of eschatology. Lee's book will serve as a spiritual wake-up call to the modern church and the people of God in its accurate portrayal of the Holy Spirit and vivid description of spiritual warfare.

Revelation's Hymns by Steven Grabiner Pdf

Revelation's Hymns examines the hymnic pericopes in Revelation in light of the cosmic conflict theme. It considers this theme as integral to the development of Revelation's plot. Recognizing that critical studies give interpretative primacy to the political realities that existed at the time of Revelation's composition, Grabiner responds to the need for an examination of the storyline from the perspective of issues that are of narrative importance. Grabiner argues that the cosmic conflict is at the centre of the book's concerns, and attempts to determine the function of the hymns with respect to this. Previous examinations of the hymns have considered them as a response and/or parody to Roman liturgy, examples of God's unquestioned sovereignty, or expressions of thematic overtones found throughout the book. While these approaches make a contribution to a greater understanding of the hymns, the relation to the ever-present conflict theme has not been explored. This study allows the hymnic sections to engage with the larger narrative issue as to who is truly the rightful sovereign of the universe.

The Apocalypse Unsealed by James Pryse Pdf

The biblical Book of Revelation is not a cryptic history or prophecy, as is generally believed, but is, in fact, a manual of spiritual development. So explains theosophist James M. Pryse in this 1919 work, which seeks to uncover the hidden significance of the most misunderstood section of the Bible and reinterpret it from a modern theosophical perspective, uncovering its esoteric relationship to other ancient texts, including the Upanishads. Pryse offers a new translation of the Apocalypse based upon undisputed meanings of the original Greek text and comments on it on a verse-by-verse basis to bring to light startling new meaning in a work that many readers will have believed fully explored. Students of comparative mythology, ancient religion, and the Bible will find this an intriguing read. American journalist JAMES MORGAN PRYSE JR. (1859-1942) helped found the Gnostic Society in Los Angeles in 1925. He is also the author of Sermon on the Mount and Other Extracts from the New Testament (1899) and Reincarnation in the New Testament (1900), among other works.

Reading Revelation by Gordon W. Campbell Pdf

The Book of Revelation can be read in various ways. Where interpretation opts not to venture beyond Revelation or approach the book as a forecast of end-time events, it typically favours either going behind the text, in search of a socio-historical context of origin to which it might refer, or else standing in front of the text and investigating the book’s reception history, or its present relevance and impact. Comparatively little interpretative work has been undertaken inside the text, exploring the mechanics of how Revelation ‘works’, still less how its complex parts might fit together into a meaningful whole. Gordon Campbell considers Revelation to be a coherent narrative composition that draws its hearer or reader into its text-world. In Reading Revelation: A Thematic Approach, Campbell gives an innovative account of Revelation’s sophisticated thematic content. Mindful of Revelation's narrative verve, or its architecture en mouvement (as Jacques Ellul once put it), Campbell plots a series of thematic trajectories through the book. On this reading, parody and parallelism fundamentally shape the whole narrative. As a first-ever integrated account of Revelation’s macro-themes, Reading Revelation makes an important contribution to Revelation scholarship. In its light, the book may justifiably be seen as the ‘crowning achievement’ of the Scriptures.
