The Continuing Ripples of Living Beyond Suicide by Kaylene Donohue Pdf
Suicide is something that can occur in any country in the world. However this tragic phenomenon is all too common in certain areas of Australia. Today in Australia and in most of the world, there remains a major stigma attached to suicide. But as tragic as the act itself may be, for every one person who commits suicide, there are many others left behind. The Continuing Ripples of Living Beyond Suicide tells the stories of some people who have also lost someone to suicide. Author Kaylene Donohue is all-too-familiar with this tragic phenomenon and the kind of pain and suffering it inflicts on the living. Having lost her first cousin, younger brother, and even three of her own children to suicide, Kaylene, like too many of those left behind, struggled to pick up the pieces and move on with her life. However, she was so moved by the support she received from the Standby Team and her support group, close family and friends that she was ultimately inspired to take action. This book is her effort to try and help others realize that there are many specialized counselors available to provide ongoing assistance to those in need and that there is indeed hope for life. The author’s ongoing passion for giving strength to those who have been left behind is the primary motivation behind this heartfelt book.

Imagine all of your hopes and dreams gone in one moment. Your life is forever changed. You may think this will never happen to you. How could it? You raised your kids right. You are a good family. Your kids play sports and would never think about trying drugs. These are the words of so many of us, but what child says that they want to grow up to be an addict? The answer is not one. Addiction does not care what kind of family you came from. Addiction just doesn't affect the person using the substance, it destroys everyone in its path. We have all made a mistake before in life and most have learned from it. Imagine making one mistake that you cannot reverse or feel as if there is no hope for restoration. Whether it was a doctor that gave you medication for pain or you wanted to fit in with your friends, it doesn't matter. The devil of addiction is pure evil. Some people have been blessed to find help and gain the strength that is needed to break free. Their stories will tell the truth about addiction and what it is like being on the front lines battling these demons. They will give you hope. Others have not been so fortunate and continue to struggle. Sadly, some lost their battles leaving mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, spouses, and friends to live a life of what-ifs, regrets, sorrow, and excruciating pain. Only the memories remain and all hope is gone. The families are forever changed. Addiction is not an individual disease, it causes ripples that affect everyone. You will hear stories from a group of survivors and others speaking for their loved ones who no longer have a voice. There are stories of death by overdose, by suicide, and even by murder. The common link is substance abuse and addiction. These unique stories are about pain and heartbreak, hope & healing. This is the raw truth written from broken hearts.

The first large format book on the house of Mina Perhonen, one of the most profoundly Japanese of the women's lines to come out of the Tokyo in the last three decades. A unique blend of Scandinavian sensibility and Japanese, Mina Perhonen is characterized by a tenacious individuality that often contradicts the prevailing trends in Japanese high fashion with its emphasis on unmistakably feminine silhouettes and bright, minimalistic prints that have as much in common with the work of Alvar Aalto and Marimekko as they do with traditional Japanese design. This thoughtfully designed volume gathers the most iconic work outputted by the fashion house in the last twenty years, highlighting the rich and witty world of Mina Perhonen. A combination of new and archival photography as well as a collection of the illustrations showcase Minagawa's subtle approach to design while critical essays by Issey Miyake and Susan Brown offer insightful commentary about Minagawa's work.
This dream-like work dwells on memory and family, and follows ambiguous figures that stride through the snowy lands adjacent to the realm of the dead. Hagiwara Rei explores the processing of grief, and how cyclical mechanisms of human emotion map out a geography of memory inextricably intertwined with the natural world from which we spring. Prepare to be absorbed in a work unlike any other coming out now.
