Reno's Riverwalk District by Courtney Rhiana,Christopher Ryan Meredith Pdf
During the mid-1800s, Charles Fuller established the first bridge to cross the Truckee River in Reno. Shortly after, settlers took residence, built a vibrant community, and called the banks of the Truckee River home. From the booming Comstock Lode and the expansion of the Transcontinental Railroad, Reno was a town of growth. By the mid-1900s, Reno showcased some of the state's most historic structures and had become known as the divorce capital of the country. The area of Reno now recognized as the Riverwalk District faced reckless floods, storms, and devastating fires, and yet its rich history and culture has prevailed for more than 98 years.
The Mystery on the Riverwalk Dock by K.D. Gray Pdf
Who knew a big fat murder mystery would come bobbing in on my fishing hook? But it did. Well, sorta. And you’d think the long blond stands of hair might’ve given someone a clue. But they didn’t. Not to everyone, that is.Oh sure, people talked. Some folks even said they knew who was at the bottom of the river. Others even said they knew how she got there too.But they didn’t. Not really. It was just talk, and I knew it too. Mom said not to listen to what she called idle gossip. What’s idle gossip? I asked. She never answered me. She never does.It doesn’t matter though. And it didn’t stop the rumors from flying around town either. Old Lady Hatch said it was the River spirits. She said they were awake again and they’d keep on taking people under the water until they’d taken everybody they wanted. But who’d believe a crazy old lady who lives with ninety-nine cats anyway? All I know is things haven’t been the same since I reeled in that mess on the Riverwalk dock.

“San Antonio Riverwalk” is a collection of over 45 photographs taken by artist Marques Vickers showcasing the gorgeous concurrence of waterways intermingled within an urban center. The Riverwalk, also known as Paseo de Rio is a network of walkways along the banks of the San Antonio River, one story beneath the streets of the downtown district lined by bars, shops and restaurants. Designed and conceptualized during the 1930s and 40s, the 2.5 mile pedestrian channel was created initially for pragmatic flood control purposes and ultimately became an internationally popular visitors site. Vickers’ photographic series comprise his personal glimpse of territory through an artistic lens. His work has been exhibited and distributed worldwide.
