Our Lord’s own words bring this out with great clearness and force. He says in John 8:34 (ASV), Every one that committeth sin is the bondservant [slave] of sin. We all know this is true. How many of us know from bitterest experience the slavery of sin, the slavery of drunkenness, the slavery of lust, the slavery of the greed for gold, the slavery of a bad temper, the slavery of an unruly tongue, the slavery of a mean disposition, or the slavery of unclean thoughts. Yes, we have all known something about the bondage of sin, but listen to what Jesus Christ: If therefore the Son shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed (John 8:36 ASV). Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Savior who died on Calvary’s cross to make pardon possible, rose from the dead and is a living Savior today. He has all power . . . in heaven and in earth (Matthew 28:18 AKJV), and is therefore able to save to the uttermost, not merely from the uttermost but also to the uttermost, all those who come to God through Him (Hebrews 7:25); He saves us from all the slavery of sin. Some look on such things as foolishness as the Apostle Paul said: "But a natural [unspiritual] man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised" (1 Corinthians 2:14). However, as this book will attempt to point out, the spirit realm is very much a real place, actually more real than our physical world. The spirit world has its own set of rules and principles that govern it. However its ways are past finding out by the natural mind of man and thus invisible to those without spiritual sight. The Apostle Paul said in the Bible: "because the human mind is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so" (Romans 8:7). Thus our intellect is useless in knowing anything beyond what we can see or touch. Just taking the most basic of the spiritual laws, the 10 commandments for instance, who can argue that we all would be a little better off if everyone was able to follow these basic rules? There would be no crime, therefore no expensive jails to confine criminals. The family unit, which has been broken down in this generation, would stay intact as children would respect their parents; there would be no adultery to break up the family and coveting would all together cease. There would be no serious disparity between the rich and the poor and the poor would be taken care of without great expenditure of funds to do so. The knowledge of the person of Jesus, his nature as a child of God by genealogy, and his work of personal salvation made many people live the religious life of self-pity and sin consciousness. One of the most challenging things many in the church are struggling to understand is the reality of their existence in trinity. The body of man came as the born child while the soul and the person proper are gifts God gave to the world to fulfil specific purpose. The understanding of Christ and the person of Jesus has eluded many, even those in the church. Many are conscious of the kingdom of Heaven but are confused about the kingdom of God. Many also think that the church is the same as the kingdom of God. They are quite different from each other, and the Kingdom of God is much more critical. Others do not think or talk about it.When Jesus started his ministry, he warned the people that the Kingdom of heaven is near and should repent and believe the good news. In Mark 1:15, the gospels tell us that Jesus was regularly teaching about the Kingdom of God. The good news Jesus proclaimed was the gospel of the Kingdom or the operation of the Government of God on the earth. Jesus did not preach the gospel of personal salvation as it is today. In Matthew 5, He thought extensively on the blessings of good nature that only Christ will bring and the powers of faith in the kingdom of God in different verses of the bible. Most people that benefited from his ministry heard him say, go, your faith has made you whole. Most miracles he performed were by the faith and expectations of the recipients. To those that would have operated in the power of the kingdom but did not, he called them "people of little faith" and encouraged them to build their faith. There are many things that Jesus did not teach in everyday language but parables. But he said in John 16:12-13 NIV, "I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. But when the Spirit of truth, comes, will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak what I tell him, and he will tell you what is yet to come". Jesus came and spoke all these things to the crowds in parables. He did not tell them anything without using a parable. So was fulfilled the words through the prophets 'I will open my mouth in parables, and I will utter things hidden since the foundation of the world. However, he said in Matthew 25:34 "Then the King will say to those on his right, Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world". The kingdom of God was ready for the man before creation.
