Seeing True by Ronald Chapman Pdf

Seeing True is that which lies on the other side of our blindness; and the only path out of blindness is learning to see. This is a guide and workbook for dispelling our illusions. It contains ninety contemplations, as well as a few simple questions to consider. Ample space is provided for written response. The immediate goals are to create the habit of contemplation, and to produce a small crack in the armor of ego through which deeper understanding can grow. The long term goal is freedom from the illusions that contract us and limit our lives. We are designed by Life itself to be spiritually fulfilled and lead enriched lives. Anything less is a measure of illusions grip on us.

Re-Enchanting Education and Spiritual Wellbeing by Marian de Souza,Anna Halafoff Pdf

Education is in a constant state of renewal internationally where it responds to a number of pressing social, political and cultural issues. Processes of globalization, a number of conflicts and acts of terror, economic and environmental crises have led to large waves of migration and asylum seekers arriving in countries with the hope of finding safer and more stable places to settle. This, in turn, has led to cultural and religious pluralism being a key characteristic of many societies with corresponding issues of belonging and identity. As well, for many people, there has been a shifting influence of and allegiance away from traditional religious frameworks with the emergence of new religious movements, both peaceful and violent, and a rise in popularity of spirituality and non-religious worldviews which provide alternate frameworks for living healthy and ethical lives. In order to prepare today’s student for tomorrow’s world, one which is confronted by a range of risks and crises and which is being shaped by rapidly changing technologies, educators and researchers are investigating new ways of equipping students to deal with these challenges and opportunities, including the nurturing of spiritual wellbeing. This book brings together the voices of many experienced educators to discuss ways to re-enchant education and re-enliven learning programs in response to these 21st century issues in an increasingly global and interconnected world. It examines a range of international contexts, including secular and religious educational settings, and provides an avenue for visionary voices that identify problems and offer solutions to help shape a more promising education system that will prepare children more constructively and beneficially to flourish in their future worlds.

The Immediacy of Mystical Experience in the European Tradition by Miklós Vassányi,Enikő Sepsi,Anikó Daróczi Pdf

This volume examines mystical experiences as portrayed in various ways by “authors” such as philosophers, mystics, psychoanalysts, writers, and peasant women. These “mystical authors” have, throughout the ages, attempted to convey the unsayable through writings, paintings, or oral stories. The immediate experience of God is the primary source and ultimate goal of these mystical expressions. This experience is essentially ineffable, yet all mystical authors, either consciously or unconsciously, feel an urge to convey what they have undergone in the moments of rapture. At the same time they are in the role of intermediaries: the goal of their self-expression – either written, painted or oral – is to make others somehow understand or feel what they have experienced, and to lead others toward the spiritual goal of human life. This volume studies the mystical experiences and the way they have been described or portrayed in West-European culture, from Antiquity to the present, from an interdisciplinary perspective, and approaches the concept of “immediate experience” in various ways.

Seeing Red by Lone Morch Pdf

Seeing Red: A Women’s Quest for Truth, Power, and the Sacred is an intimate memoir about one woman’s search for personal power—a journey of climbing inner and outer mountains that takes her to the holy Mt. Kailas in Tibet, through a seven-year marriage, and into the arms of the fierce goddess Kali, where she discovers her powerful, feminine self. This is the story of Denmark native Lone Mørch’s transformation—a story of love and passion, and also a story of self-betrayal. After realizing that she’s given up on herself, Mørch has to strip herself bare, lose everything she's held dear, and tear down everything she's ever built in order to reclaim her life and sense of self. As much a memoir about coming into one’s own as it is a love affair with the Himalayas, Seeing Red takes the reader on an unforgettable journey of creation and destruction.

An Invitation to Peace by James R. Heldwein Pdf

To the mind, true spirituality seems a contradiction in terms; a paradox. Peace, that elusive quality universally sought, is that which you always already Are. You are being invited to sense, know, and experience yourself as This. It is paradoxical to be invited to that which one already Is. The invitation is to allure the mind and at the same time to break through its infinite reams of conditioning. So highly conditioned is the modern human that the entire population, to a greater or lesser degree, identifies with or believes themselves to be the mind. Have you ever entertained with any degree of seriousness the question: Who Am I? As of this writing, more and more of this planets population are beginning to take an interest in the Truth; the Truth of what they Are, as well as embrace the Truth of what everything Is. Rest assured nothing is as it seems to be, to the mind. You are being invited to step aside from the mind and its incessant chatter, in the quest for Peace. When the activity of the mind begins to cease, that which is left cannot be described. You are being invited to simply find out what it is that awaits when all that is false is exposed. In this revelation awaits your Truth, your Peace.

RADICAL LIGHT by Sylvia Bennett Pdf

This second book of the Real Magic series continues to explore the ancient Hermetic Teachings as “A mental art—the art of using consciousness itself as the tool for creating changes in consciousness.” What does the Hermetic axiom “as above, so below” really mean? The relationship between macrocosm (above) and microcosm (below) is the key to the Hermetic Teachings. Macrocosm refers to the Eternal Reality of Light; the realm of God. Microcosm is its reflection; a fragmentation of Light; the world of human existence and human ego. The core of the Hermetic Teachings for centuries has been focused on transforming the fragmented body of Light in human consciousness and uniting below with above.

Immanence and Immersion by Will Schrimshaw Pdf

Immersion is the new orthodoxy. Within the production, curation and critique of sound art, as well as within the broader fields of sound studies and auditory culture, the immersive is routinely celebrated as an experiential quality of sound, the value of which is inherent yet strengthened through dubious metaphysical oppositions to the visual. Yet even within the visual arts an acoustic condition grounded in Marshall McLuhan's metaphorical notion of acoustic space underwrites predispositions towards immersion. This broad conception of an acoustic condition in contemporary art identifies the envelopment of audiences and spectators who no longer perceive from a distance but immanently experience immersive artworks and environments. Immanence and Immersion takes a critical approach to the figures of immersion and interiority describing an acoustic condition in contemporary art. It is argued that a price paid for this predisposition towards immersion is often the conceptual potency and efficacy of the work undertaken, resulting in arguments that compound the marginalisation and disempowerment of practices and discourses concerned with the sonic. The variously phenomenological, correlational and mystical positions that support the predominance of the immersive are subject to critique before suggesting that a stronger distinction between the often confused concepts of immersion and the immanence might serve as a means of breaking with the figure of immersion and the circle of interiority towards attaining greater conceptual potency and epistemological efficacy within the sonic arts.
