The Law of Real Property, Vol. 4 by Tilghman Ethan Ballard Pdf

Excerpt from The Law of Real Property, Vol. 4: Being a Complete Compendium of Real Estate Law, Embracing All Current Case Law, Carefully Selected, Thoroughly Annotated and Accurately Epitomized In presenting this, the fourth volume of our serial on the Law of Real Property, to the profession, we desire to reaf firm our original purpose to make this entire series, at every stage of its progress, an exceedingly useful help to every busy lawyer and over-worked judge who must daily, in some way, have occasion to examine some of the more than one thousand questions directly connected with the one hundred text book subjects completely covered by this work. Instead of at tempting to rewrite the law, as laid down by the masters whose excellent works have so long been in the hands of the profession, we have contented ourselves with an honest effort to chronicle its growth as afl'ected by our legislative and judicial forces, uncolored by any preconceived opinions of our own. We have not assumed to say that any case, however weak, is of no value; but, in epitomizing the cases upon any given point, while preserving them all, we have, in the ar rangement and space occupied, to a large extent, indicated the character and relative importance of each case, frequently quoting the important language of the opinion and giving the cases cited by the court; and where there is a conflict of au thority both sides are given. We have constantly borne in mind the thought that we could be most helpful to those whom we seek to serve by making the finding of the law as easy as possible. One index issued in a separate volume covers the entire series. In this index we have not attempted to repeat the contents of the four large volumes, but we have tried to make the finding of any portion or their contents the matter of but a moment's work. We realize the responsibility which accompanies the task upon which we are engaged, but our hands have been strengthened for better work and our hearts lightened and warmed by the generous reception given to our work, and the many kind words of commendation, for all of which we again desire to make grateful acknowledgment. A Treatise on the Law of Real Property (Classic Reprint) by William Francis Walsh Pdf

Excerpt from A Treatise on the Law of Real Property The author gladly gives credit to the legal writers and authorities on whom he has always based his work as a student and teacher as well as a writer. For that part of the work devoted to the history of the law of real property and the common law of England, special credit is due to Digby's History of the Law of Real Property, and Williams Real Property. Most of the lists of cases used as the basis of the work were drawn from the American and English Cyclopaedia of Law, Cyc., Washburn on Real Property, and the admirable and more extensive works on real property by Professor Tiffany and Professor Reeves. These cases were examined and the notes taken therefrom became the basis of the text. Professor Gray's cases on property have been the basis of the author's work as student and teacher, arid have been drawn from freely in this work. His work on Perpetuities, together with his cases on that topic, con vtitute the basis of the chapter on Perpetuities. Special credit is also due Professor Tiffany's comprehensive and scholarly work on Landlord and Tenant. Wm. F. Walsh. New York University Law School. November, 1915. Excerpt from The Law of Real Property Mortgages in New Jersey This book aims to place most of the New Jersey cases on Real Property Mortgages within quick, easy and certain reach of its consulter. It is alphabetically arranged, yet several chapters contain the special application of other topics to its subject-matter. The Index, however, undertakes to summarize all of such references. The various subdivisions at the head of each chapter give a bird's-eye view of what follows in' the chapter. Severe condensation characterizes the work and invites the reading of the entire chapter to one who expects to view its full contents. The work tries to let the Cases disclose their own heart, in their own words. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. The Gist of Real Property Law (Classic Reprint) by Harold G. Aron Pdf

Excerpt from The Gist of Real Property Law There is no dearth of excellent texts on the subject, and the author acknowledges his debt to several of them, including Professor Washburn's scholarly treatise and more particularly the recent and Splendid work of Professor Reeves, to which is largely due whatever merit lies in the present volume. For the student who has from these or other sources studied the law of real property, it may serve a useful purpose to summarize what he has there learned. The author has striven for two things: accuracy and succinctness. The appendix is only a tool box of useful references; it does not pretend to be a table of cases, and is confined largely to the law of New York and New Jersey; a later edition may similarly supply the working principles of the real property law of other states. If the book is found useful by the practitioner, this will be a great satisfaction to the author, especially if it serves to dissipate the idea that the law of real property is a trackless desert to be ventured into only in the company of corporate guides. The American Law of Real Property (Classic Reprint) by Christopher Gustavus Tiedeman Pdf

Excerpt from The American Law of Real Property In presenting to the profession a new work on the Amer ican Law of Real Property, the author does not deem an apology necessary, although it may be appropriate to state briefly his object and. The scope of the work. The experi ence of the author, both as a student and as an instructor in this branch of the law, has led him to believe that students of the law generally look upon the law of Real Property as extremely technical, arbitrary and unreasonable. Believ ing that all law is founded upon reason, and is developed by forces, which are not produced or even controlled by the arbitrary will of the legislator, and feeling confident that a logical or historical reason could be found for every principle of the law of Real Property, the author has made that subject the object of his special study, and this volume is given to the profession as the result of his investigations, with the hope that it might aid in stripping this branch of the law of its harsh and uninviting dress. In one sense, this book cannot be considered exhaustive, for volumes can be written on the subject without exhaust ing it. But it is thought that, in another sense, the book may be considered as reasonably exhaustive, in that it con tains the enunciation of all those principles which are neces sary to a broad and comprehensive knowledge of the subject. Instead of filling these pages with numerous citations of the facts of particular cases, and leaving to the student the discovery of the general principles, which underlie the cases. Handbook on the Law of Real Property (Classic Reprint) by Earl P. Hopkins Pdf

Excerpt from Handbook on the Law of Real Property Attempt to harmonize the cases on fixtures, a classification and work ing theory has been suggested which it is believed will prove useful. Special attention has been paid to the latest authorities as showing what parts of the law of real property are now in process of growth. The recent Torren's Title Act, of Illinois, has been explained at some length, because it is in all probability the forerunner of the introduction into this country of some system of registration of title in place of our present system of the registration of conveyances.
