Self-Healing Systems and Wireless Networks Management by Junaid Ahsenali Chaudhry Pdf

Do you believe in open-source development? Would you like to see your security system grow and learn by itself? Are you sick of paying for software license fees every year that produce little return on investment? And, would you prefer to invest in something you could sell later on to other IT security departments? If you answered yes to these questions, then this is the book for you. Addressing the issues of fault identification and classification, Self-Healing Systems and Wireless Networks Management presents a method for identifying and classifying faults using causal reasoning—a powerful bottom up technique for deep surface and cross context correlation establishment. It explains how to employ a similarity matrix to match the user activity log and its pattern in a transformed space and discusses the development and deployment of a policy engine. The book describes how to use this self-growing policy engine in collaboration with a scheduler and plug-in bank to generate a healing policy. This healing policy presents the solution of the direct and causal fault. The author describes how to embed the solutions of the related faults in the healing policy so that if a client faces more faults related to the previous one, they can be addressed at the client side. Exploring prototype systems, the text defines supporting systems architectures and includes a case study of an autonomic healing-based self-management engine. It also explains how to fulfill the tasks in linear time, so that the increase in the source file size does not affect the performance of your system—making the system highly scalable for distributed self-healing systems. This book provides valuable guidance to help you build a self-growing, self -earning, self-healing system that, after development, learns for itself about the IT security vulnerabilities of your organization and fills the holes for future breach prevention.

Compared with conventional communications, cooperative communication allows multiple users in a wireless network to coordinate their packet transmissions and share each other's resources, thus achieving high-performance gain and better service coverage and reliability. Energy Efficient Cooperative Wireless Communication and Networks provides a comprehensive look at energy efficiency and system design of cooperative wireless communication. Introducing effective cooperative wireless communication schemes, the book supplies the understanding and methods required to improve energy efficiency, reliability, and end-to-end protocol designs for wireless communication systems. It explains the practical benefits and limitations of cooperative transmissions along with the associated designs of upper-layer protocols, including MAC, routing, and transport protocol. The book considers power efficiency as a main objective in cooperative communication to ensure quality-of-service (QoS) requirements. It explains how to bring the performance gain at the physical layer up to the network layer and how to allocate network resources dynamically through MAC/scheduling and routing to trade off the performance benefits of given transmissions against network costs. Because the techniques detailed in each chapter can help readers achieve energy efficiency and reliability in wireless networks, they have the potential to impact a range of industry areas, including wireless communication, wireless sensor networks, and ad hoc networks. The book includes numerous examples, best practices, and models that capture key issues in real-world applications. Along with algorithms and tips for effective design, the book supplies the understanding you will need to achieve high-performing and energy efficient wireless networks with improved service coverage and reliability.

This book is intended to describe how to leverage emerging technologies big data analytics and SDN, to address challenges specific to LTE and IP network performance and fault management data in order to more efficiently manage and operate an LTE wireless networks. The proposed integrated solutions permit the LTE network service provider to operate entire integrated network, from RAN to Core , from UE to application service, as one unified system and correspondingly collect and align disparate key metrics and data, using an integrated and holistic approach to network analysis. The LTE wireless network performance and fault involves the network performance and management of network elements in EUTRAN, EPC and IP transport components, not only as individual components, but also as nuances of inter-working of these components. The key metrics for EUTRAN include radio access network accessibility, retainability, integrity, availability and mobility. The key metrics for EPC include MME accessibility, mobility and capacity, SGW, PGW capacity and connectivity. In the first parts of the book, the authors describe fundamental analytics techniques, and various key network partitions - RAN, Backhaul, Metro and Core of a typical LTE Wireless Service Provider Network. The second part of the book develops more advanced analytic techniques that can be used to solve complex wireless network problems. The second part of this book also describes practical and novel solutions for LTE service network performance and fault management systems using big data engineering. Self-organizing network (SON) architecture is presented as a way to utilize network performance and fault analytics to enable network automation. SON can significantly improve operational efficiencies and speed up network deployment. Simulation Technologies in Networking and Communications by Al-Sakib Khan Pathan,Muhammad Mostafa Monowar,Shafiullah Khan Pdf

Simulation is a widely used mechanism for validating the theoretical models of networking and communication systems. Although the claims made based on simulations are considered to be reliable, how reliable they really are is best determined with real-world implementation trials. Simulation Technologies in Networking and Communications: Selecting the Best Tool for the Test addresses the spectrum of issues regarding the different mechanisms related to simulation technologies in networking and communications fields. Focusing on the practice of simulation testing instead of the theory, it presents the work of more than 50 experts from around the world. Considers superefficient Monte Carlo simulations Describes how to simulate and evaluate multicast routing algorithms Covers simulation tools for cloud computing and broadband passive optical networks Reports on recent developments in simulation tools for WSNs Examines modeling and simulation of vehicular networks The book compiles expert perspectives about the simulation of various networking and communications technologies. These experts review and evaluate popular simulation modeling tools and recommend the best tools for your specific tests. They also explain how to determine when theoretical modeling would be preferred over simulation. This book does not provide a verdict on the best suitable tool for simulation. Instead, it supplies authoritative analyses of the different kinds of networks and systems. Presenting best practices and insights from global experts, the book provides you with an understanding of what to simulate, where to simulate, whether to simulate or not, when to simulate, and how to simulate for a wide range of issues.

Multimedia over Cognitive Radio Networks by Fei Hu,Sunil Kumar Pdf

With nearly 7 billion mobile phone subscriptions worldwide, mobility and computing have become pervasive in our society and business. Moreover, new mobile multimedia communication services are challenging telecommunication operators. To support the significant increase in multimedia traffic—especially video—over wireless networks, new technological infrastructure must be created. Cognitive Radio Networks (CRNs) are widely regarded as one of the most promising technologies for future wireless communications. This book explains how to efficiently deliver video, audio, and other data over CRNs. Covering advanced algorithms, protocols, and hardware-/software-based experiments, this book describes how to encode video in a prioritized way to send to dynamic radio links. It discusses different FEC codes for video reliability and explains how different machine learning algorithms can be used for video quality control. It also explains how to use readily available software tools to build a CRN simulation model. This book explains both theoretical and experimental designs. It describes how universal software radio peripheral (USRP) boards can be used for real-time, high-resolution video transmission. It also discusses how a USRP board can sense the spectrum dynamics and how it can be controlled by GNU Radio software. A separate chapter discusses how the network simulator ns-2 can be used to build a simulated CRN platform.
