Shifting Infinity by Patty Jansen Pdf

Melati escaped New Jakarta space station when it fell into Allion's hands. Her family was left behind the enemy lines. She signed up for active duty with the International Space Force in the hope they would liberate the station. Instead, they chose to maintain a crippling siege that has lasted for ten months. A small ship escapes from the station with on board a single male occupant whose mind appears to have been wiped. With her skills in artificial mindbases, Melati is part of the team that tries to get information out of him. He could be a human Trojan horse sent by Allion and his calls for help nothing more than a trap to get ISF to send people to the station. Or he could be a genuine escapee from the station where the recycling processes have collapsed and ten thousand civilians have mere weeks until they die of asphyxiation. Either way, the time for watching and waiting is over. War is about to begin. Science fiction, military science fiction, space opera,

Infinity, Causation, and Paradox by Alexander R. Pruss Pdf

Infinity is paradoxical in many ways. Some paradoxes involve deterministic supertasks, such as Thomson's Lamp, where a switch is toggled an infinite number of times over a finite period of time, or the Grim Reaper, where it seems that infinitely many reapers can produce a result without doing anything. Others involve infinite lotteries. If you get two tickets from an infinite fair lottery where tickets are numbered from 1, no matter what number you saw on the first ticket, it is almost certain that the other ticket has a bigger number on it. And others center on paradoxical results in decision theory, such as the surprising observation that if you perform a sequence of fair coin flips that goes infinitely far back into the past but only finitely into the future, you can leverage information about past coin flips to predict future ones with only finitely many mistakes. Alexander R. Pruss examines this seemingly large family of paradoxes in Infinity, Causation and Paradox. He establishes that these paradoxes and numerous others all have a common structure: their most natural embodiment involves an infinite number of items causally impinging on a single output. These paradoxes, he argues, can all be resolved by embracing 'causal finitism', the view that it is impossible for a single output to have an infinite causal history. Throughout the book, Pruss exposits such paradoxes, defends causal finitism at length, and considers connections with the philosophy of physics (where causal finitism favors but does not require discretist theories of space and time) and the philosophy of religion (with a cosmological argument for a first cause).

Infinite Matrices and their Finite Sections by Marko Lindner Pdf

This book is concerned with the study of infinite matrices and their approximation by matrices of finite size. The main concepts presented are invertibility at infinity (closely related to Fredholmness), limit operators, and the stability and convergence of finite matrix approximations. Concrete examples are used to illustrate the results throughout, including discrete Schrödinger operators and integral and boundary integral operators arising in mathematical physics and engineering.

Infinity's Flower by Jack Allis Pdf

Infinity's Flower The Tale of 2012 & the Great Shift of the Ages The year is 2011. David and Kelly are soul mates, who share an awareness of the ancient esoteric wisdom, confirmed by quantum science, that the universe is alive, and everything in it, including us, consists of pulsating, luminous energy. Like shamans from indigenous cultures around the world, David and Kelly have powers far exceeding those of ordinary humans as a function of their awareness that this world of energy is guided by an unseen intelligence or spirit, and their ability to merge with these mysterious forces. One of their powers is the ability to see through the illusion of everyday life, and into another dimension, where malevolent extraterrestrial beings, masquerading as humans, have covertly ruled the world for thousands of years, and have imposed a fascist world government, or New World Order, upon a human race. Infinity's Flower is the epic story of the age-old intergalactic battle between the forces of good and evil that is coming to a head on the planet Earth at this time, and David and Kelly's struggle to join the forces of light, both in this world and in higher, etheric dimensions, to defeat the powers of darkness, and reclaim the planet. The backdrop of this tale is The Great Shift of the Ages, an exceedingly rare geophysical and astrophysical time the Earth has entered. It is the completion of a 26,000-year cycle, which was prophesized by ancient cultures spanning the globe, including the Egyptians, the Mayans and the Hopis. The Shift involves forces of colossal magnitude, such as the reversing of the Earth's electromagnetic field, which will change the face of the planet, and life on it, forever. The clock is ticking. The year 2012 appears to be the turning point. Are these the end-times, as so many believe was predicted in the Bible, or is this an opportunity for the birth of a new era of higher consciousness and spirituality? Infinity's Flower weaves the epic scope of Orwell, the esoteric wisdom of Castaneda, and the riveting storytelling of the film sensation The Matrix, into a tale of this rare and blessed opportunity for humanity to evict the forces of evil, and make the shift to the new paradigm. It is a world in which doors swing open to unimaginable forces, and where humanity reconnects with the one true source of its power: the divine spirit of a living universe. Infinity's Flower is a vision of the paradise that an empowered and an enlightened humanity can, and must, create on Earth.

Shifting into High Gear by Kyle Bryant Pdf

Shifting Into High Gear charts the course of Kyle Bryant's transformation as he journeys on a recumbent tricycle across the United States in the throes of Friedreich's ataxia, a life-shortening and disabling disease. Full of humor and reflection, it's a heroic journey of a man driven to reframe the language of disease through action and service. As you travel with Kyle during two cross-country bike rides through the American West, Texas, the Southern States, and finally to the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, the grueling rides become a compelling backdrop for a series of lessons and ruminations which embrace an alternative worldview and provide practical solutions to everyday problems. A thrilling adventure story, yes, Shifting Into High Gear is also ultimately about helping readers reinterpret the conditions of their lives and learning how positive thinking, purposeful connection, and deliberate actions can help anyone reach beyond their limits and live a bolder and bigger life no matter what the circumstance. Deeply passionate and compassionate, Kyle uses his amazing story to teach readers how to replace the handicapping language of "disability" with the agency to build a thriving and hopeful life. He bravely exposes the shadow-side of using disabling language and asks us to commit to a collective goal of understanding disease and its emotional impact and embrace the disabled population as equal individuals. In telling his story, Kyle's desire is that instead of viewing disease as a deficit, we would see it as another state of being—simply as a life which strikes out on a different path.

Computer-Aided Design of Communication Networks by Yi-Sheng Zhu,Wai Kai Chen Pdf

Circuit design is now carried out by computers using algorithms instead of tables, charts and rules of thumb. The book is an introduction to the computer-aided design of communication networks, based on a firm analytic foundation of circuit theory and numerical techniques. It provides design procedures and techniques of filters, broadband matching networks, compatible impedances, high-frequency amplifiers, diplexers and multiplexers. All programs are written in FORTRAN 77 and run by MS-FORTRAN 5.1 and WATFIV compilers on personal computers. A special feature of the book is that it bridges the gap between theory and practice, and algorithms and implementations. The level of the book is suitable for a senior elective or a circuit design course for the first-year graduate students as well as a reference book for practicing engineers.

Ambassador 1A: The Sahara Conspiracy by Patty Jansen Pdf

Second book in the series. Read Ambassador 1: Seeing Red first. 3 December 2114 Cory Wilson is woken in the middle of the night with a summons to appear in the president of Nations of Earth’s office. An aid worker in Djibouti has discovered a shipment of alien guns. As ambassador to gamra, the extraterrestrial organisation which controls the Exchange, the FTL wormhole network, Cory has often been critical of Earth’s handling of extraterrestrial problems. This is his moment to shine, to apply his knowledge about alien customs, to, in the words of the president, “get those idiots out of there”. Except the usual suspects, the Zhori mafia who have caused trouble on Earth for a long time, are nowhere to be seen. This is something far more dangerous, something that involves all of northern Africa, something that provokes the anger of Asto, gamra’s largest world. Asto’s army is already prowling in orbit, ready to strike. A science fiction thriller that will appeal to readers of C.J. Cherryh's science fiction, Lois McMaster Bujold's Miles series, Lindsay Buroker, Alastair Reynolds and Ann Leckie.

Ambassador 3: Changing Fate by Patty Jansen Pdf

Fifty thousand years ago, a meteorite hit the planet Asto, giving its Aghyrian inhabitants mere days of notice. Three ships escaped the Armageddon. Two went to the neighbouring planet. The third, a massive generation ship, refused to take on refugees, and then vanished without a trace. It’s coming back. Its initial burst of communication caused the outage of the Exchange, the FTL network for transport and communication, but since then the ship has been silent. It jumps about at random, using wormholes it generates with a drive the likes of which no one has seen before. Meanwhile at the gamra assembly, people jostle to be in the best positions when it inevitably turns up in inhabited space. What the ship wants or whether there is anyone on board no one knows, but diplomat Cory Wilson knows one thing: when it turns up, he must avoid a conflict at all cost. If only gamra presented a united viewpoint. If only Asto’s army wasn’t keen to get involved. If only the Aghyrians at gamra didn’t do what they do best: manipulate and play games with everyone. While the ship approaches, the delegates bicker, and the time for negotiating is fast running out. Will appeal to readers of C.J. Cherryh's science fiction, Lois McMaster Bujold's Miles series, Lindsay Buroker, David Vandyke and John Scalzi. Science Fiction, military, thriller, aliens, space, first contact, political

Ambassador 7: The Last Frontier by Patty Jansen Pdf

Never has there been more at stake for the people on Earth. The referendum question is simple: does Earth join gamra, the organisation that governs the Exchange, the FTL space travel network? While a “yes” vote would mean big changes, a “no” vote would leave Earth isolated and alone to face those waiting to fill the void, and those dark forces are already on the prowl. Cory is one of the few people who can see the big picture, not just those campaigning for the “no” vote, but the off-Earth forces that wait behind them, but he and his team went on a holiday to New Zealand and communication has been mysteriously cut off. Someone is taking control of communication channels, bringing the "yes" campaign to its knees, and by the time Cory is aware that the race is on, the only avenue open to him is a hard-hitting, negative campaign that requires him to go into the lion’s den: the homelands of the obscenely rich members of the Pretoria Cartel, where gun-crazy hunters, lions and elephants are just the start of his problems. A science fiction thriller that will appeal to readers of C.J. Cherryh's science fiction, Lois McMaster Bujold's Miles series, Lindsay Buroker, Alastair Reynolds and Ann Leckie.

Do make sure to read book 1 first. It's free. Fifteen years ago, a brilliant scientist built a barrier against the dangerous power that radiates from the City of Glass in the southern land, allowing the citizens of Chevakia to live without fear of their lives. Since then, the democracy of Chevakia has prospered, with free-thinking scientists developing steam power and the beginnings of electricity. But the power, which they call sonorics, controls the weather in Chevakia. Senator Sadorius han Chevonian is the country’s chief meteorologist. While taking measurements for his job, he is the first to notice a rapid rise of sonorics levels out-of-season. The senate is locked in trivial debate, and to make them listen, he has to take a step he never thought to make. After the huge explosion of the machine they call the Heart of the City, Loriane has fled the southern land with the sorcerer Tandor, who hovers in and out of consciousness. But while Tandor isn’t speaking, she cannot confirm her fears that he caused the explosion, and that the child she carries has something to do with his twisted plans to seize power from the Eagle Knights who rule the City of Glass. Just before the explosion, southern queen Jevaithi fled into Chevakia with her young lover Isandor. While they think they’re free of the tyranny of the Eagle Knights, it soon becomes clear something very bad has happened in the City of Glass soon after their escape. Something so bad that it sends waves of sonorics into Chevakia, causing even the Chevakians to flee. Several streams of refugees are heading for the Chevakian capital. Southerners by train, Chevakians by road, into a city that is tragically unprepared, a country in turmoil with a leader whose support hangs by the merest thread. For people who like their fantasy dark and gritty. Think Joe Abercrombie, Karen Miller, Robin Hobb, George R.R. Dragon Soup by Patty Jansen Pdf

When Perrin was so desperate that he applied for a job with the Bureau of Magic Abuse, there were two things he didn't realise. One, that he might actually get the job and two, that it would involve working with magic sniffers. And what an annoyance the creatures are. They keep him up at night, need to feed on expensive fresh fruit and cause him embarrassment. A new inn opens in town and patrons flock to it. Perrin checks it out for forbidden magic, finds none but something doesn’t add up. Is it the stranger, clearly a wizard, who makes little effort to cover up his illegal activities? Is it the owner of the new inn, who can’t possibly have accumulated enough money to buy the place? Or is it the unfailingly raving reviews? Something fishy is going on, and his boss at the Bureau doesn't even want him to investigate. But Perrin has never let that stop him.
