Slayer of Evermore by James M. Lipuma Pdf

Slayer of Evermore is a fast-paced fantasy action adventure filled with battles and intrigue that takes place on the planet Moniva. On this world, there are many races that use magic spells and weapons. Even so, spell-casters have been hunted and killed for nearly a century because of fear and jealousy of their power. As the book opens, a group of adventurers are brought together by Redlina half-human, half-fire-giantto quest for a magic ax known as the Slayer of Evermore. Redlin has ruled over a vast portion of the planet for centuries because of his status as a powerful magician, warrior, and smith able to produce magical weapons of unparalleled strength. Now, his rule is challenged and he has called his allies together for help. Though some of the members of the expedition are well-seasoned fighters and wizards, others are ill-prepared to participate in the adventure. Despite being the most powerful and influential king on Moniva, Redlin needs the Slayer of Evermore to defeat Thrack Morgan, an evil wizard who has been destroying Redlins allies in an attempt to conquer all the human kingdoms on the planet. As the quest begins, two great armies have amassed to do battle. Both sides need to find and claim the Slayer of Evermore in order to ensure final conflict is swayed in their favor. As the quest progresses, the party is shattered by injury, treachery, and happenstance. The ultimate success of the expedition falls to Twig and Aaron, the youngest members of the party as they learn about duty, honor, and leadership. Twig is an apprentice magician who has never been without a teacher while Aaron is a fledgling king who is not ready for the power or the responsibility of his new title. Along the way, they discover love, inner strength, and self-sacrifice. During the quest, these two realize that they must assume responsibility and control of their lives which have been manipulated by others for so long. In the end, the final outcome of the battle is decided by the deeds of these two young adventurers as they face Thrack Morgan. The reader will feel like they are part of the action as they travel along with the party of adventurers through the Forbidden Lands towards the Valley of the Dragons. The reader will join the party as they undertake an epic quest to defeat beasts and monsters, find lost relics, and save the world from Thrack Morgan and his demons. The stories of all the characters are woven together to create an entertaining and engaging story for the reader to participate in. It is easy to lose yourself in the book and see yourself standing besides the characters as enemies are battled, prizes are won, and the quest is completed.

The Hymns of the Ṛgveda by Ralph Thomas Hotchkin Griffith,Jagdish Lal Shastri Pdf

The Rgveda, the oldest literary record of the Aryan race and the sacred book of the Hindus, has very few authentic translations in English. Most of the translations are only the imitations of interpretations which the mediaeval Hindus, as represented by Sayana, have offered. Griffith`s is the only translation which, though guided by Sayana, ventures to deviate from him widely and frequently. It may be ranked as an independent translation hitherto made in English. But this century old translation needed re-editing, necessitating a new edition incorporating improvements without disturbing the original. In this edition the Greek letters have been romanized wherever there are references in the footnotes from the Greek language. The system of transcription has been modernized even in regard to Avestan words in the footnotes, following the system of Bartholomae. The complete translation has been published in a single volume for the convenience of the reader. Each and every figure in the index has been duly checked and revised.

The Legends of King Arthur and His Knights by James Knowles Pdf

What starts as a rags to riches story transforms into an adventure as this collection of legends explores the triumphs and failures of a young king and his accomplices. When Arthur, a young boy mistreated by his family, is put up to the challenge to remove a sword stuck in a stone, his moral character and embodiment of hope allows him to pass the test and win the sword, Excalibur. Artur is then named the king, and becomes the standard of leadership and the founder of Camelot. Wielding his prized sword, Excalibur, Arthur goes on to encounter enchantresses, assemble noble knights, and lead Britain’s defense against the Saxon invasion. King Arthur will join his notable allies, Lancelot, Merlin, and the Lady of the Lake, to solve mysteries, achieve quests, and fight battles. The Legends of King Arthur and His Knights by Sir James Knowles has inspired modern film and literary adaptations, joining the vast collection of poetry, prose and art dedicated to King Arthur and his knights. These fantastical stories provide an escape into adventure, and bring lessons of overcoming adversity into the 21st century, while treating readers to experience the comradery of the round table and the magical adventures of Camelot. Sir James Knowles’ The Legends of King Arthur and His Knights is vitalized with this artistic edition. This new, modern design and readable manuscript will allow readers to be immersed in the action, witnessing Merlin’s prophecies, aiding Lancelot’s quest for the Holy Grail, and fighting alongside Arthur in battle.

The Hymns of the Rigveda by Ralph T. H. Griffith Pdf

In the dim twilight preceding the dawn of Indian literature the historical imagination can perceive the forms of Aryan warriors, the first Western conquerors of Hindustan, issuing from those passes in the north-west through which the tide of invasion has in successive ages rolled to sweep over the plains of India. The earliest poetry of this invading race, whose language and culture ultimately overspread the whole continent, was composed while its tribes still occupied the territories on both sides of the Indus now known as Eastern Kabulistan and the Panjab. That ancient poetry has come down to us in the form of a collection of hymns called the Rigveda. The cause which gathered the poems it contains into a single book was scientific and historical. The number of hymns comprised in the Rigveda, in the only recension which has been preserved, that of the Çakala school, is 1017, or, if the eleven supplementary hymns (called Valakhilya) which are inserted in the middle of the eighth book are added, 1028. These hymns are grouped in ten books, called mandalas, or "cycles," which vary in length, except that the tenth contains the same number of hymns as the first. In bulk the hymns of the Rigveda equal, it has been calculated, the surviving poems of Homer.

Beyond the Sunset by Ron Shafer Pdf

In Beyond the Sunset, the sixth novel in Ron Shafer's There Is a River saga, two cultures repeatedly collide. Jude and Cory's world of love, embodied in their beautiful wedding and honeymoon, clashes with the world of the carnal thugs. The intelligent Todd Cravener, pitifully caught in the crossfire between the two worlds, deals with the overwhelming guilt of his girlfriend's death. Is there hope for such misdirected people who botch their lives so completely? In the words of one reader, "Todd is like many people today--forlorn, hopeless, and scared!" The lives of the antagonists and the protagonists of these two worlds crisscross in a series of breath-taking episodes which build to a riveting climax during Kittanning's Light-up Night when the inebriated stooges kidnap two innocent people. "That," a reader shares, "is one of the most suspenseful scenes I've read in modern fiction! My pulse soared!" Will the daring rescue scheme succeed?
