Space Forces by Fred Scharmen Pdf

The radical history of space exploration from the Russian Cosmists to Elon Musk Many societies have imagined going to live in space. What they want to do once they get up there - whether conquering the unknown, establishing space "colonies," privatising the moon's resources - reveals more than expected. In this fascinating radical history of space exploration, Fred Scharmen shows that often science and fiction have combined in the imagined dreams of life in outer space, but these visions have real implications for life back on earth. For the Russian Cosmists of the 1890s space was a place to pursue human perfection away from the Earth. For others, such as Wernher Von Braun, it was an engineering task that combined, in the Space Race, the Cold War, and during World War II, with destructive geopolitics. Arthur C. Clark in his speculative books offered an alternative vision of wonder that is indifferent to human interaction. Meanwhile NASA planned and managed the space station like an earthbound corporation. Today, the market has arrived into outer space and exploration is the plaything of superrich technology billionaires, who plan to privatise the mineral wealth for themselves. Are other worlds really possible? Bringing these figures and ideas together reveals a completely different story of our relationship with outer space, as well as the dangers of our current direction of extractive capitalism and colonisation.

Space Capstone Publication Spacepower by Us Government United States Space Force Pdf

This book, Space Capstone Publication Spacepower: Doctrine for Space Forces, is capstone doctrine for the United States Space Force and represents our Service's first articulation of an independent theory of spacepower. This publication answers why spacepower is vital for our Nation, how military spacepower is employed, who military space forces are, and what military space forces value. In short, this capstone document is the foundation of our professional body of knowledge as we forge an independent military Service committed to space operations. Like all doctrine, the SCP remains subject to the policies and strategies that govern its employment. Military spacepower has deterrent and coercive capacities - it provides independent options for National and Joint leadership but achieves its greatest potential when integrated with other forms of military power. As we grow spacepower theory and doctrine, we must do so in a way that fosters greater integration with the Air Force, Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard. It is only by achieving true integration and interdependence that we can hope to unlock spacepower's full potential.

The United States Space Force by Lamont C. Colucci Pdf

The United States Space Force, the sixth branch of the armed forces, will soon play a leading role in American foreign policy and will be necessary to protect its economic, political, and social interests at home and abroad. This book argues that America's newest branch of the armed forces, the United States Space Force, will soon play a key strategic role in American foreign policy, military and economic expansion, and technological innovation. Written by a leading expert on and member of the Space Force, the book offers an introduction to the Space Force, explains the urgent need for it, and walks readers through what exactly the Space Force is and is not. Drawing on dozens of interviews with high-ranking members of the armed forces, the author claims that, in the future, space will be the geopolitical center of world politics, as such countries as the U.S., Russia, and China jockey for control of it. America must therefore set aside partisan politics to make space a top priority, as a failure to do so will leave the U.S. and its citizens in a dangerous and vulnerable position on the world stage.

Space force by Amr Soliman Pdf

What is the new American space power and who heads it? "Space is a field of war, as is land, air, and the sea, and America will be dominant in it, as it is on Earth." Thus, Vice President Mike Pence last year paved the space force that was approved by the House of Representatives this week, within the Defense Budget Act for fiscal year 2020, which reached Its value is 738 billion dollars. What is the space force, where do you work, and what is its arrangement in the American army? Where will its field be, and who manages it? For the new budget law to take effect, US President Donald Trump, who has the idea of creating a space force, must sign it. The bill is more than 3,000 pages long, and it gives, for the first time, parental leave to all Ministry of Defense employees, and a majority of 86 votes in favor, only 8, rejected it.

Space Force! by Taylor Dinerman Pdf

The desire to establish a US Space Force has been around for decades, in both science fiction and in the minds of people who attempt to seriously consider what our nation needs in order to deter future wars (and if necessary, to fight and win them). As an institution, the US Space Force has gotten off to a shaky start; however, prolific space writer Taylor Dinerman has great confidence that someday soon, it will find the right leadership and eventually be emancipated from the Department of the Air Force. At that point, the institution can begin to truly serve the great cause of creating a spacefaring civilization—as it was always meant to.

Space Force: Our Star Trek Future by Michael Salla Pdf

On September 5, 2019, a Space Futures conference was hosted by the US Air Force Space Command which analyzed evolving conditions in space up to 2060. Eight possible negative and positive futures were identified, the optimal being a "Star Trek Future" which would involve countries with space programs forming a multinational alliance collaborating in civil, military and commercial affairs in space. Today, the emergence of Space Force, signing of the Artemis Accords, and creation of NATO's Space Center promise to be the fulcrum for ushering in this Star Trek scenario. Such a future is not assured however due to the existence of uncooperative rival space programs of China and Russia. Could one or both launch a Space Pearl Harbor that could devastate the entire US GPS system, as predicted 20 years ago by a blue-ribbon Space Commission? Also, there is the wildcard of numerous secret space programs possessing reverse-engineered antigravity craft. Their existence is not officially acknowledged by major nations, but their space activities pose major challenges to a Star Trek future. Will Space Force be able to integrate the US based secret space programs or will these and their foreign counterparts be obstacles to its future operations? The ultimate question is how the existence of extraterrestrial life will factor into the activities of Space Force and its allies space forces. Will extraterrestrial visitors respond in a benign or a belligerent way to Space Force setting up a multinational space coalition to militarily project humanity's presence far into our solar system and beyond? How will a future "Starfleet" with Space Force and NATO at its core have to deal with rogue secret space programs and alien life operating throughout our solar system? The US Navy secret space program reportedly has space battle groups built with the assistance of friendly human looking 'Nordic' extraterrestrials. Under what conditions will the Navy surrender authority over them to combine with Space Force? Space Force Our Star Trek Future provides answers to these and many other critical questions about humanity's bold emergence as an interplanetary space power.

Centralized Control of Space by Ricky B. Kelly Pdf

"The purpose of this paper is to determine to what extent and how the Joint Force Commander (JFC) should control support from space forces. Current Air Force doctrine, as delineated in Air Force Manual (AFM) 1-1, identifies the Joint Force Air Component Commander (JFACC) as being responsible for both air and space for the theater. This statement follows the Air Force notion that air and space are an indivisible medium of warfare. On the other hand, Joint Pub 3-14 states the Operations Directorate, J-3, on the supported commander's (the JFC's) staff functions in this role. To examine this issue of in-theater control of space forces more closely, this study is divided into five chapters. Following the Introduction, Chapter 2 looks into how space forces were planned for and employed during Desert Storm. This chapter discusses who was in-charge and what planning processes were used. In Chapter 3, lessons and initiatives to improve planning and employment of support from space forces are discussed. Chapter 4 explores the possible need to have one individual in-theater clearly identified as being responsible for directing space forces. Centralized control, similar to air, may have beneficial effects that allow joint commanders to take better advantage of space forces' full potential. The study concludes by offering recommendations."--Abstract.
