Integer Programming and Related Areas by C. Kastning Pdf

Integer Prograw~ing is one of the most fascinating and difficult areas in the field of Mathematical Optimization. Due to this fact notable research contributions to Integer Programming have been made in very different branches of mathematics and its applications. Since these publications are scattered over many journals, proceedings volumes, monographs, and working papers, a comprehensive bibliography of all these sources is a helpful tool even for specialists in this field. I initiated this compilation of literature in 1970 at the Institut fur ~konometrie und Operations Research, University of Bonn. Since then many collaborators have contributed to and worked on it. Among them Dipl.-Math. Claus Kastning has done the bulk of the work. With great perseverance and diligence he has gathered all the material and checked it with the original sources. The main aim was to incorporate rare and not easily accessible sources like Russian journals, preprints or unpublished papers. Without the invaluable and dedicated engagement of Claus Kastning the bibliography would never have reached this final version. For this reason he must be considered its responsible editor. As with any other collection this literature list has a subjective viewpoint and may be in some sense incomplete. We have however tried to be as complete as possible. The bibliography contains 4704 different publications by 6767 authors which were classified by 11839 descriptor entries.

Integer Programming and Network Models by H.A. Eiselt,Carl-Louis Sandblom Pdf

The purpose of this book is to provide readers with an introduction to the very active field of integer programming and network models. The idea is to cover the main parts of the field without being too detailed or too technical. As a matter of fact, we found it somewhat surprising that most--especially newer---books are strongly algorithmically oriented. In contrast, the main emphasis of this book is on models rather than methods. This focus expresses our view that methods are tools to solve actual problems and not ends in themselves. As such, graduate (and with some omissions, undergraduate) students may find this book helpful in their studies as will practitioners who would like to get acquainted with a field or use this text as a refresher. This premise has resulted in a coverage that omits material that is standard fare in other books, whereas it covers topics that are only infrequently found elsewhere. There are some, yet relatively few, prerequisites for the reader. Most material that is required for the understanding of more than one chapter is presented in one of the four chapters of the introductory part, which reviews the main results in linear programming, the analysis of algorithms, graphs and networks, and dynamic programming, respectively. Readers who are familiar with the issues involved can safely skip that part. The three main parts of the book rely on intuitive reasoning and examples, whenever practical, instead of theorems and proofs.

Packet Guide to Core Network Protocols by Bruce Hartpence Pdf

Take an in-depth tour of core Internet protocols and learn how they work together to move data packets from one network to another. With this updated edition, you’ll dive into the aspects of each protocol, including operation basics and security risks, and learn the function of network hardware such as switches and routers. New chapters examine the transmission control protocol (TCP) and user datagram protocol in detail. Ideal for beginning network engineers, each chapter in this book includes a set of review questions, as well as practical, hands-on lab exercises. You’ll explore topics including: Basic network architecture: how protocols and functions fit together The structure and operation of the Ethernet protocol TCP/IP protocol fields, operations, and addressing used for networks The address resolution process in a typical IPv4 network Switches, access points, routers, and components that process packets TCP details, including packet content and client-server packet flow How the Internet Control Message Protocol provides error messages during network operations How network mask (subnetting) helps determine the network The operation, structure, and common uses of the user datagram protocol

Towards Neuromorphic Machine Intelligence by Hong Qu Pdf

Towards Neuromorphic Machine Intelligence: Spike-Based Representation, Learning and Applications provides readers with in-depth understanding of Spiking Neural Networks (SNN), which is a burgeoning research branch of Artificial Neural Networks (ANN), AI, and Machine Learning that sits at the heart of the integration between Computer Science and Neural Engineering. In recent years, neural networks have re-emerged in relation to AI, representing a well-grounded paradigm rooted in disciplines from physics and psychology to information science and engineering. This book represents one of the established cross-over areas where neurophysiology, cognition, and neural engineering coincide with the development of new Machine Learning and AI paradigms. There are many excellent theoretical achievements in neuron models, learning algorithms, network architecture and so on. But these achievements are numerous and scattered, with a lack of straightforward systematic integration, making it difficult for researchers to assimilate and apply. As the third generation of Artificial Neural Networks (ANN), Spiking Neural Networks (SNN) simulate the neuron dynamics and information transmission in a biological neural system in more detail, which is a cross-product of computer science and neuroscience. The primary target audience of this book is divided into two categories: artificial intelligence researchers who know nothing about SNN, and researchers who know a lot about SNN. The former needs to acquire fundamental knowledge of SNN, but the challenge is that a large number of existing literatures on SNN only slightly mention the basic knowledge of SNN, or are too superficial, and this book gives a systematic explanation from scratch. The latter needs to learn about some novel research achievements in the field of SNN, and this book introduces the latest research results on different aspects of SNN and provides detailed simulation processes to facilitate readers' replication. In addition, the book introduces neuromorphic hardware architecture as a further extension of the SNN system. The book starts with the birth and development of SNN, and then introduces the main research hotspots, including spiking neuron models, learning algorithms, network architectures, and neuromorphic hardware. Therefore, the book provides readers with easy access to both the foundational concepts and recent research findings in SNN. Introduces Spiking Neural Networks (SNN), a new generation of biologically inspired artificial intelligence Systematically presents basic concepts of SNN, neuron and network models, learning algorithms, and neuromorphic hardware Introduces the latest research results on various aspects of SNN and provides detailed simulation processes to facilitate readers' replication
