Geesgedrewe Heersers by Gerhardt Smook Pdf

After the dragon, Satan and his angels lost the great battle in heaven against Michael and his angels they were subsequently cast down to the earth. The one that thought in his pride that he was qualified to replace the Creator of the Universe as ruler over its immeasurable expanse, suddenly found his domain reduced to one small planet. This however, was not the end of his humiliation. The Creator God had the audacity to fashion a small being after His own image from the very clay of Satan’s kingdom and after blowing His breath, His Spirit into it to cause it to live, instructed it to rule over his (Satan’s) kingdom. Since that day, Satan’s all out purpose was to destroy mankind. He thought that he had succeeded when he caused man to sin and thereby causing God’s Spirit to leave man. Thus he regained control over the earth. However, he under-estimated the immeasurable depth of God’s love for man that through the death of the Son on the cross, redeemed man. This act of love opened the way for man to regain the life that the first Adam and Eve lost through their fall. Every person that truly accepts Jesus Christ as his or her saviour, and is born again by the Spirit of God can also regain the breath or Spirit of God by being filled with the Holy Spirit. However, this is not the beginning and end all of man’s spiritual journey. Man’s creative purpose namely, to rule over the earth, has never changed. God’s calling is without repentance as the Bible says. In fact, the book proves from Scripture that it is not only still valid, but that it is indeed eternal and thus challenges many people’s theology. It continues to explain the responsibilities of the believers as kings and priests of Jesus who is their High Priest The book reveals that God’s children are indeed appointed by Jesus to continue the works that He performed while He walked the earth. Not only are we, His children appointed by Him, like in any good employment, we can also enjoy the awesome benefits of the Kingdom. This must however, be distinguished from the prosperity gospel. It also reveals that Jesus has a specific purpose for every one of His followers in the greater scheme of things. The greatest message of the book, is however that mankind can only exercise its authority in total dependence and under the continual guidance of the Holy Spirit – hence the title Spirit Driven Rulers (Geesgedrewe Heersers). It explains systematically applying examples from the author’s and daily life, our walk with the Holy Spirit . The book endeavours to be an inspirational but also practical guide on how to be filled and to be led by the Spirit. “ ... because those who are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God” (Rom.8:14 NIV). The book reveals, that God’s people have to exercise their creative purpose, namely, to rule over the earth in the midst of their enemies. It goes on to show that through the ages, the greatest enemies of the church had always been the adder in its bosom. For this reason the author takes up arms against present trends against the person and redemptive work of Christ, as well as the authority of the Bible. In this regard, it focuses more specifically on the current trends in theology in South Africa as perpetrated by a group of theologians who call themselves the “Nuwe Hervormers” (New Reformers). Oh yes, then there is St. Enamel. His kind have been around since the time of Jesus who called them “Whited sepulchres” . But we have become fancy now, we do not use lime anymore. Nevertheless, in spite of the new veneer, the inside is still full of dead bones - the traditions of man that are still holding people in bondage. Watch out for St. Enamel!

The Spirit-Led Leader by Timothy C. Geoffrion Pdf

In our postmodern, experience-oriented culture, people are longing for greater authenticity, integrity, and depth in their pastors and leaders. Board directors, church members, and staff alike are all eagerly seeking leaders who effectively integrate their spirituality and leadership. Pastors and executives, however, often struggle with knowing how to integrate their spiritual values and practices into their leadership and management roles. Designed for pastors, executives, administrators, managers, coordinators, and all who see themselves as leaders and who want to fulfill their God-given purpose, The Spirit-Led Leader addresses the critical fusion of spiritual life and leadership for those who not only want to see results, but who also desire to care just as deeply about who they are and how they lead as they do about what they produce and accomplish. Geoffrion creates a new vision for spiritual leadership as partly an art, partly a result of careful planning, and always a working of the grace of God

Monks, Rulers, and Literati : The Political Ascendancy of Chan Buddhism by Asian Religions University of Winnipeg Albert Welter Professor Pdf

The Chan (Zen in Japanese) school began when, in seventh-century China, a small religious community gathered around a Buddhist monk named Hongren. Over the centuries, Chan Buddhism grew from an obscure movement to an officially recognized and eventually dominant form of Buddhism in China and throughout East Asia. It has reached international popularity, its teachings disseminated across cultures far and wide. In Monks, Rulers, and Literati, Albert Welter presents, for the first time in a comprehensive fashion in a Western work, the story of the rise of Chan, a story which has been obscured by myths about Zen. Zen apologists in the twentieth century, Welter argues, sold the world on the story of Zen as a transcendental spiritualism untainted by political and institutional involvements. In fact, Welter shows that the opposite is true: relationships between Chan monks and political rulers were crucial to Chan's success. The book concentrates on an important but neglected period of Chan history, the 10th and 11th centuries, when monks and rulers created the so-called Chan "golden age" and the classic principles of Chan identity. Placing Chan's ascendancy into historical context, Welter analyzes the social and political factors that facilitated Chan's success as a movement. He then examines how this success was represented in the Chan narrative and the aims of those who shaped it. Monks, Rulers, and Literati recovers a critical period of Zen's past, deepening our understanding of how the movement came to flourish. Welter's groundbreaking work is not only the most comprehensive history of the dominant strand of East Asian Buddhism, but also an important corrective to many of the stereotypes about Zen.

The Disobedient Spirits and Christian Baptism by Bo Reicke Pdf

Bo Ivar Reicke (1914Ð1987) was born and schooled in Stockholm, Sweden. In 1933 he matriculated in the Faculty of Arts of the University of Stockholm, transferring, however, in 1935 to the University of Uppsala, where in 1937 he received his degree in the areas of the history of religions and classical Greek and philosophy. From 1938 he continued his studies in the Faculty of Theology of the same university. Graduating in 1941, he became ordained in December of the same year as a minister of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Sweden. He immediately continued with doctoral studies, choosing the exegesis of the Old and New Testaments as his field of research. In May 1946 he presented in print and publicly defended his dissertation, The Disobedient Spirits and Christian Baptism: A Study of 1 Pet. III.19 and Its Context, [Acta Seminarii Neotestamentici Upsaliensis Edenda Curavit A. Fridrichsen, 13] (Lund 1946). In the official statement to the university, his New Testament teacher, Professor A. Fridrichsen, describes the dissertation as a weighty contribution to the solution of an old exegetical problem and goes on to recommend the author for a position on the Uppsala Faculty. In the following years, Reicke taught New Testament exegesis as assistant professor in his home faculty. In September of 1953 he received the call of the Faculty of Theology of the University of Basel, Switzerland, to fill the chair in New Testament. Moving to Basel with his family, Reicke served there for thirty years until his retirement in 1984. In addition to lecturing around the world and training about forty doctoral students, he was the author of a number of books (see below). Still actively writing and lecturing, Bo Reicke died in Basel in May of 1987.

The Omnipotent Ruler by Feng ChanZi Pdf

Don't compete with me in talent. My five branches share the same cultivation, and I have the Demonic Lotus Legacy, the Sky Flipping Palm, and the condensed Nuwa Stone.Don't fight with me for a woman. I am elegant and elegant like a flower. I am a human beauty. I am a demi-human princess. I am a dragon queen.Don't play tricks with me, I look into the distance, my eight faces are as clear as the wind, my little scheme is profound, if you want to harm me, I will make sure your parents won't recognize me.I caused the earth to change color. The fifth prime minister was as miserable as a dog, and I made the heavens fear. The five emperors submitted and made me their enemy. Their lives were in ruins. You have to ask me who I am, I am the Master of the World!
