Spirit Garden by Joe Martin Pdf

On SPIRIT GARDEN: "In Spirit Garden, poet-scholar-playwright Joe Martin sings ecstatically of the One, the hidden integrity of opposites & the living mystery of existence. He not only fuses Sufi, Buddhist & Jewish paths in a troubadour's transcendence both timeless & time-bound, his thirty poems share the page with Enrique Castanon's haunting figures which shift foreground and background to meta-illustrate the gestalt of Martin's vision." Kirpal Gordon, author, Giant Steps Press blog On FOREIGNERS: "[An] absurdist mind grenade... Joe Martin's first novel paints this neo-European shadow landscape with panache a gifted American writer." Richard Peabody, Editor, Gargoyle On RUMI'S MATHNAVI: A Stage Adaptation "Absolutely remarkable and memorable lifting the veils one after another." Lida Saeedian, co-translator of The Pocket Rumi On PARABOLA: SHORTER FICTIONS "...through the tightly structured geometry of this metaphorically rich [work is a] recognition of the search we undertake to fi x a place for ourselves and try to make sense of a confusing, alienating and often combative world." Rumi's Little Book of Life by Rumi Pdf

From Madonna to Deepak Chopra, celebrities have been recording and embracing Rumi's poetry for the past two decades, creating a resurgence of interest in this 13th century Sufi mystic. Rumi's Little Book of Life is a beautiful collection of 196 poems by Rumi, previously unavailable in English. Translated by native Persian speakers, Maryam Mafi and Azima Melita Kolin, this collection will appeal to Rumi lovers everywhere. This collection of mystical poetry focuses on one of life's core issues: coming to grips with the inner life. During the course of life, each of us is engaged on an inner journey. Rumi's Little Book of Life is a guidebook for that journey. The poetry is a companion for those who consciously enter the inner world to explore the gardens within--out of the everyday "world of dust"--through an ascending hierarchy that restores one's soul to the heart; the heart of the spirit; and in finding spirit, transcending all.

God's Flower Garden by W. Tyson Thompson Pdf

See the birds and bees, flowers and weeds, and different people who make up God's Flower Garden as seen through the eyes of the poet, for the beauty of God's Flower Garden is not only the flowers God created, but also the different people He created. Experience the frustration of being kept waiting for a scheduled appointment, the sadness of putting a pet to sleep, the humorous aspect of a surgery not mentioned in polite society, and other common events in life, all described in verse and rhyme. These events all take place in a part of God's Flower Garden. Poems on Christmas, comfort, mercy, a prayer for forgiveness, and others bring to mind the serious side of life in God's Flower Garden. To cover all of God's Flower Garden, one must remember the mountains, rivers, trees, national parks, etc., for He created them all. Experience the beauty of the Smoky Mountains, a pilgrimage to the colonial south, and other trips/outings as described by the author. God's Flower Garden would not be complete without mentioning friends and family, which the author has done by including poems written for them on their birthdays.

Gardening in the Tropics by Olive Senior Pdf

Gardening in the Tropics contains a rich Caribbean world in poems offered to readers everywhere. Olive Senior's rich vein of humour can turn wry and then sharp in satire of colour-consciousness, class-consciousness and racism. But her predominant tone is the verbal equivalent of a pair of wide-open arms.

Sequin Soul by Ketriana Yvonne Pdf

I wrote these poems from my soul to help someone on the journey they may be walking. Life is like shiny sequins sometimes flashy most times you lose some pieces. Like the fabric when you rub the pattern of sequin in one direction against the grain it may be rough in the other direction it will be smooth; such is my metaphor for my life. Like the fabric of life in spite of a few tugs that leave a space or two without sequins. I still maintain and shine just the same. My life has been a purposeful journey to birth this book of poetry it’s a part of fulfilling my purpose to inspire through words. We all have an audience to reach and we have something to contribute to this world through our experiences. I grew up reading Dr. Wayne W. Dyer’s books from the first to the last. The impact of his words were jewels that made my life challenges lessons for my spiritual growth. I hope these simple poems ordered from A to Z will reveal some positive revelations I found to help me on my journey through life. Just pick a problem and open the book to any poem you will have a new perspective on any situation; if you like just sit back and enjoy from beginning to end. Things will happen in life the most important thing to remember is you are love, remain whole and keep shining your light. Therefore, I present poetry from my spirit entitled Sequin Soul.

Roses Amidst the Thorn by Simone C Wilson (Lark) Pdf

The Parched Garden" continues the couple's progression after "Roses Amidst the Thorn". In Roses, we experience the birth, the spiritual co-existence and the unforeseen crumbling of the couple's relationship. The couple finds themselves in a season of dryness. They now live in the wilderness of a broken relationship. They experience place within themselves where they find no reprieve or solace. They don't understand what has happened and why God seems to have not helped them find answers to their questions. Though the separation has come, there exist a spiritual connection which continues to bind the couple. They are very much aware of the hurt and pride keeping them from reaching out to each other. Instead of forming a mutual bridge of communication, they begin to search within themselves looking for understanding and insight. They search for what has brought them to this place. They try to make sense of the devastation left behind; to understand the indifference of their families and close friends, to judge whether their shaken foundation is beyond repair. Finally, to grasp some insight that allows them to know that they will come through their experience. Knowing within themselves that forgiveness and reconciliation are possibilities the couple must endure the winter season of their relationship. At its end, they will either continue as a couple or part as individuals who have grown from this ordeal. In God's silence towards them, He still draws them closer to Him. He brings them closer to "The Living Water" that can only quench the thirst of those who have dwelled in this spiritual wilderness. For in this wilderness, water is available to any who choose to dig deep enough! "The Parched Garden" is the internal spiritual struggle to keep digging for "The Healing Living Water", so that we learn to nourish the spiritual gardens inside ourselves. We must learn to love ourselves as much as our heavenly Father loves us. Thereby allowing us to extend that love and forgiveness unconditionally to others! Lark

Life Is a Garden Party by Judy Janowski Pdf

Life Is a Garden Party applies God's principles to gardening and nature. Each story is a 2-in-1, beginning with a gardening observation followed by a spiritual application. An observation would be referring to the compost pile as garbage mouth as it consumes almost everything. The spiritual application is "Let your conversation be always full of grace." (Colossians 4:6) May you find inspiration and a few smiles along the way as you read about lessons learned from gardening. The apostle James wrote, "See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop and how patient he is for the autumn and spring rains." I don't know if James was a gardener, but I do know gardeners learn what it is to wait patiently. Seeing the miracle within a seed erupt and fruit is worth the lesson in patience. Seeing the damage done by insects teaches patience is still necessary. Patience to defeat each and every one. The author's blog is http: //lifeisagardenparty.blogspot.com where more poems are posted weekly.

Wordsworth's Gardens and Flowers by Peter Dale,Brandon C. Yen Pdf

- The first book to explore both Wordsworth's gardens and the poet's literary use of flowers - Includes rare botanical prints reproduced for the first time in several decades - Focuses on Wordsworth's gardens in the English Lake District and Leicestershire - Draws extensively on hitherto unpublished manuscripts and artworks - Reproduces illustrations from early editions of Wordsworth A book that debunks the popular myth that William Wordsworth was, first and foremost, a poet of daffodils, Wordsworth's Gardens and Flowers: The Spirit of Paradise provides a vivid account of Wordsworth as a gardening poet who not only wrote about gardens and flowers but also designed - and physically worked in - his gardens. Wordsworth's Gardens and Flowers: The Spirit of Paradise is a book of two halves. The first section focuses on the gardens that Wordsworth made at Grasmere and Rydal in the English Lake District, and also in Leicestershire, at Coleorton. The gardens are explored via his poetry and prose and the journals of his sister, Dorothy Wordsworth. In the second half of the book, the reader learns more of Wordsworth's use of flowers in his poetry, exploring the vital importance of British flowers and other 'unassuming things' to his work, as well as their wider cultural, religious and political meaning. Throughout, the engaging, accessible text is woven around illustrations that bring Wordsworth's gardens and flowers to life, including rare botanical prints, many reproduced here for the first time in several decades. Contents: Part One: The Gardens and their Maker Part Two: Flowers and the Poetry A Note on the Botanical Plates List of Illustrations Acknowledgements
