Storyverse Act 1 by William Stone Greenhill Pdf

You may not believe this, but stories are real. They exist inside a pocket universe within a book. If an Interpreter puts on binding rings, they can enter stories. If an author puts on binding rings they can wield the power, wisdom and knowledge from their worlds. My grandmother is named Temperance Storm and she is 600 years old. She is an Interpreter and was Shakespeare's apprentice. She made very good friends with Shakespeare's daughter named Abagail Shakespeare. William Shakespeare's death drove Abagail mad. She reigned for a decade but eventually Temperance burned her inside her own book. Fast forward a few centuries and my grandmother gives me binding rings. I am an Interpreter named Tessa Storm. I went to a Storyverse school named Cloud 9 for my first year. But a cloaked witch attacked the entire student body to find something called a forbidden book. Each of these books combined created a Ring of Everything. An artefact with the power of all of fiction. Every story ever written. It turned out to be our teacher named Missy Sword. She escaped after forging the Ring of Everything. In our 2nd year Abagail's followers attacked Sea Angel Academy, our 2nd Storyverse school. A time ghost attacked the place as well. A time ghost is a living genetic tattoo that grants its user time and ghost capabilities. The tattoo can also be passed down genetically. The time ghost turned out to be me. Also, the most powerful man in our world (The Clock Lord) died at the hands of one of his apprentices. Come our third year and Abagail returned and became a time ghost. She inhabited the Callworth bloodline. In that year we learnt my friend William Greehill was a member of one of the most powerful Storyverse Bloodlines ever. The Green family was cursed by Abagail with the Light Spinner Curse which disabled them from seeing the Storyverse or anything supernatural. William was the first to break free of the curse. We had out final fight with Abagail at Sea Angel Academy. I was blinded and a younger version of Abagail was pulled out of the time ghost. A good Abagail. William ended up killing that particular time ghost Abagail. The time Ghost Abagail was the evil one. In the holiday between our 3rd and 4th years my mum got pregnant. We found out the cure to the Light Spinner Curse was the first author ever. We found out my Uncle Callum the cowardly was innocent of his convicted crime. And he hid a powerful story known as the great prophecy. William found out that a man named Luke Heartstone had made a time ghost soul prison which entrapped anyone other than a Greenhill within the soul of a specific blood line if they found the cure to the Light Spinner Curse. My mum had triplets and we uncovered the great prophecy. In our 4th year we went to a historic school named Mount Colour. Made by the three most powerful Interpreters

Silverlock by John Myers Myers Pdf

Join an unlikely hero as he watches Moby-Dick sink the Pequod, dodges cannibals on Robinson Crusoe's island, raises a glass with Beowulf, and literally goes to Hell and back. This rollicking adventure begins with a shipwreck on an island where notable characters of literature, history, and folklore coexist — Hamlet and Oedipus, Don Quixote and Doctor Faustus, Becky Sharp and Daniel Boone. From carousing with Robin Hood to crossing swords with the Green Knight and stealing a ride on Huck Finn's raft, our traveler, A. Clarence Shandon, undertakes a whirlwind tour of the classics. And just as the truths of great stories ennoble those who take them to heart, a selfish and cynical drifter is transformed into the gallant knight known as Silverlock. "Here in your hand is the stuff of wonder," declared science-fiction author Poul Anderson, adding, "There are few such glorious romps in all the world's literature, and surely none that surpass this one." Unjustly overlooked for decades, this book lover's book has developed a devoted cult following and richly deserves a wider audience. Whether or not you recognize its scores of literary allusions, you'll savor its wealth of battles, quests, romances, songs, and laughter.

My mum had triplets and we uncovered the great prophecy. In our 4th year we went to a historic school named Mount Colour. Made by the three most powerful Interpreters ever. Blue, Yellow and Red. Things went unusually smoothly until the last three days of school. William got up at 1 and went into the library. He was hit by a new weapon named the Chronos Blaster which takes away a practitioners powers temporarily. Then his Interpreter assistant threw him into a movie. The Clock Lord was reincarnated at my hand. The apprentice that killed the Clock Lord assembled the Historical Hallows gaining the ability to modify history at will, became the clock lord and all his new knowledge destroyed his mind. He threw to hallows to his daughter and Amy Zellous became the new Clock Lord. Abagail transported me to 18th century Fremantle where she wanted me to switch places in history with Temperance. She wanted me to stop the 1st Shakespearean war. Luckily Snow made her switch places with Temperance, but she wasn't strong enough to over come Temperance so she promptly discombobulated. Or did she? Anyway, that brings us up to the present in my Storyverse holidays between year 4 and 5.

The Routledge Companion to Children's Literature and Culture by Claudia Nelson,Elisabeth Wesseling,Andrea Mei-Ying Wu Pdf

Focusing on significant and cutting-edge preoccupations within children’s literature scholarship, The Routledge Companion to Children’s Literature and Culture presents a comprehensive overview of print, digital, and electronic texts for children aged zero to thirteen as forms of world literature participating in a panoply of identity formations. Offering five distinct sections, this volume: Familiarizes students and beginning scholars with key concepts and methodological resources guiding contemporary inquiry into children’s literature Describes the major media formats and genres for texts expressly addressing children Considers the production, distribution, and valuing of children’s books from an assortment of historical and contemporary perspectives, highlighting context as a driver of content Maps how children’s texts have historically presumed and prescribed certain identities on the part of their readers, sometimes addressing readers who share some part of the author’s identity, sometimes seeking to educate the reader about a presumed “other,” and in recent decades increasingly foregrounding identities once lacking visibility and voice Explores the historical evolutions and trans-regional contacts and (inter)connections in the long process of the formation of global children’s literature, highlighting issues such as retranslation, transnationalism, transculturality, and new digital formats for considering cultural crossings and renegotiations in the production of children’s literature Methodically presented and contextualized, this volume is an engaging introduction to this expanding and multifaceted field.

The Moon's Fire-Eating Daughter by John Myers Myers Pdf

She gave him a look that made him feel warm all over. “How would you like to make a survey of the Road for me? All I need is a clear, objective report based on first-hand observation. All the others I commissioned never lived long enough to give me one.” “What was the matter with them, except being dead?” the professor asked nervously. “They got tangled up because they didn’t know how to look at things. I don’t know why I never thought of turning the job over to a scientist before.” “That’s a mistake voters make, too” he allowed modestly, then loosened his collar. “Er, when do you want me to start?” “Right away wouldn’t be to soon.” “Oh! I couldn’t miss my one-thirty class,” he hedged. “You won’t,” she assured him. “That is unless you get drowned in space, chewed up on land or sea, mobbed, or worse.” She ran a hand reassuringly though his hair. “Just do, for my sake, be careful, pet.” Resistance was useless. She was Venus. He was the merest of mortals. Ten minutes later, in spite of all his best efforts, he found himself being borne off through the sky in a chariot drawn by four eagles!

Song of Myself by Walt Whitman Pdf

One of the Greatest Poems in American Literature Walt Whitman (1819-1892) was considered by many to be one of the most important American poets of all time. He had a profound influence on all those who came after him. “Song of Myself”, a portion of Whitman’s monumental poetry collection “Leaves of Grass”, is one of his most beloved poems. It was through this moving piece that Whitman first made himself known to the world. One of the most acclaimed of all American poems, it is written in Whitman’s signature free verse style, without a regular form, meter, or rhythm. His lines have a mesmerizing chant-like quality, as he sought to make poetry more appealing. Few poems are as fun to read aloud as this one. Considered to be the core of his poetic vision, this poem is an optimistic and inspirational look at the world in 1855. It is exhilarating, epic, and fresh in its brilliant and fascinating diction and wordplay as it tries to capture the unique meaning of words of the day, while also embracing the rapidly evolving vocabularies of the sciences and the streets. Far ahead of its time, it was considered by many social conservatives to be scandalous and obscene for its depiction of sexuality and desire, while at the same time, critics hailed the poem as a modern masterpiece. This first version of “Song of Myself” is far superior to the later versions and will delight readers with the playfulness of its diction as it glorifies the self, body, and soul. “I am large, I contain multitudes,”
