God was my inspiration to share the story of my life with others. You never know how strong you are until being strong is all you have left.

Pain Was My Middle Name by Anita Chun Pdf

My main purpose in writing this book has been to share my experiences and triumphs with my fellow victims of rheumatoid arthritis. We don't have to be ashamed or embarrassed just because we have rheumatoid arthritis. The disease is not a crime or sin. It does, however, sentence us to life imprisonment. But there are ways to parole ourselves from this prison. Together we can combat this terrible disease with phenomenal results. I am living proof. Am I so different? Don't we all in the end have to learn patience and more patience, discipline and tenacity? My advice couldn't be simpler: "Think positive, think possibility and never give up." My RA is about as severe as it gets, but even with all my pain in the early years, I've managed to live a happy, full life. I'd even say "a normal life"-but who's normal? No one! My hope is that my experience will give you shortcuts for finding the normal life unique to you. -Anita Li Chun, author of Pain Was My Middle Name

Winter Is My Middle Name by Don Rayner Pdf

Join Danny and his friends as they have many misadventures in a southwestern Pennsylvania steel town during the late 1950s and early 60s. The story has many memorable and odd characters. It was a much simpler time; there were no cell phones, computers, or video games. People still gathered around the radio to listen to 'Superman' and 'Fiber Magee and Molly'. If they were lucky enough to have a TV, it was black and white and all kitchen appliances were white. There was no Internet. The closest thing to Amazon was the Sears Catalog, where you could order anything from a toy train to a Craftsman House.Sputnik, Echo, and who knows what were circling the earth. The local dump provided everything kids needed to keep them occupied. There were areas in town that still had outhouses. They were poor but didn't know it. Kids could roam the neighborhood without any worries. Their parents would tell them "Come home when the streetlights come on."If you are looking for a book like 'War and Peace' or 'Moby Dick', then look somewhere else. This book is more like Jean Shepherd's 'A Christmas Story'; if it were a movie it would be rated 'G' for general audiences. Whether you are 12 or 112, I am sure you are going to enjoy this book as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Anger Is My Middle Name by Lisbeth Zornig Andersen Pdf

An empowering memoir of resilience and redemption, and the rage that helped a girl escape the darkness of a harrowing childhood. Born to a violently dysfunctional home in working-class Denmark, Lisbeth Zornig Andersen and her three older brothers were bounced between foster care and state-run institutions, then back again to their chemically dependent mother and sadistic stepfather. For Lisbeth, it was a childhood without perimeters. It was blighted by poverty, sexual abuse, neglect, betrayal, and further victimization by the broken Danish social services system that forced Lisbeth to live where and how it saw fit. Coming of age with a myriad of fears and emotional disorders, Lisbeth had three things that would become driving forces in her life: she was extraordinarily bright, extremely willful, and exceptionally angry. From hell to liberation, this is Lisbeth's emotional and galvanizing memoir told in two voices: that of a young girl who was unwanted, challenged, and defiant, and that of a woman who channeled her rage into a positive force as a passionate advocate for children's rights. Whatever darkness defines the past, it can be used to change the future. Lisbeth's heart-wrenching and ultimately uplifting journey is proof.

Drama Is Her Middle Name by Wendy Williams,Karen Hunter Pdf

Shock jock extraordinaire Wendy Williams lets loose with the first in a series of novels based on her alter ego, the divalicious radio DJ Ritz Harper. Ritz puts the s in shock and the g in gossip, and Drama is her middle name. Ritz is a suburban girl on the outside, but inside she’s a hustler’s hustler who’s masterfully maneuvered her way into the spotlight after ruining the career of a well-respected newswoman (and former college friend). Ritz’s “exclusive” rockets her to the top of the ratings, and she’s rewarded with her very own show. Like a talking Venus flytrap, she verbally seduces her on-air guests, only to have them for lunch as she spews gossip about their lives. Ritz becomes the darling of the station’s afternoon slot. But when Ritz goes from drive-time diva to drive-by victim, all she can think as she struggles to maintain consciousness is “Who did this to me?" Has Ritz bad-mouthed the wrong person? Has her signature cat-and-mouse “bomb drop” been dropped on her instead? Readers will salivate as they try to figure out where the fictional Ritz ends and the real-life Wendy begins.

He made the transition from the streets to fine art with a unique fusion of calligraphy and graffiti, which he named Calligraffiti. This soon became a worldwide phenomenon and now plays a significant role within Urban Contemporary Art. In recent years Niels Shoe Meulman moved towards a style he calls Abstract Vandalism. Influenced by the great painters of Abstract Expressionism, his work has been shown in countless exhibitions all over the world and is included in the permanent collections of museums and private collections. No Middle Name by Lee Child Pdf

THE #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING JACK REACHER SERIES THAT INSPIRED TWO MAJOR MOTION PICTURES AND THE STREAMING SERIES REACHER The ultimate Jack Reacher experience: a thrilling new novella and eleven previously published stories, together for the first time in one pulse-pounding collection from Lee Child. No Middle Name begins with “Too Much Time,” a brand-new work of short fiction that finds Reacher in a hollowed-out town in Maine, where he witnesses a random bag-snatching but sees much more than a simple crime. “Small Wars” takes readers back to 1989, when Reacher is an MP assigned to solve the brutal murder of a young officer found along an isolated forest road in Georgia—and whose killer may be hiding in plain sight. In “Not a Drill,” Reacher tries to take some downtime, but a pleasant hike in Maine turns into a walk on the wild side—and perhaps something far more sinister. “High Heat” time-hops to 1977, when Reacher is a teenager in sweltering New York City during a sudden blackout that awakens the dark side of the city that never sleeps. Okinawa is the setting of “Second Son,” which reveals the pivotal moment when young Reacher’s sharp “lizard brain” becomes just as important as his muscle. In “Deep Down,” Reacher tracks down a spy by matching wits with four formidable females—three of whom are clean, but the fourth may prove fatal. Rounding out the collection are “Guy Walks into a Bar,” “James Penney’s New Identity,” “Everyone Talks,” “The Picture of the Lonely Diner,” “Maybe They Have a Tradition,” and “No Room at the Motel.” No suitcase. No destination. No middle name. No matter how far Reacher travels off the beaten path, trouble always finds him. Feel bad for trouble. Praise for No Middle Name “Captivating . . . classic [Lee] Child . . . This volume demonstrates what his fans already know: he’s a born storyteller and an astute observer.”—Publishers Weekly (starred review) “Lee Child, like his creation, always knows exactly what he’s doing—and he does it well. Time in his company is never wasted.”—Evening Standard

Children of the Wind by Ed Sundt Pdf

On a scorching, dusty road in south-central Illinois in the late 1930's, Doc finds Cully, eleven, running from his father's death in the fields. He takes Cully in, as he had taken in other stray creatures, and teaches him the life of a rural veterinarian. Thus the boy gains an understanding that death, a commonplace in nature's cycle, reaches animals and people, young and old, by accident or intent. One day a letter from Connecticut, three-months delayed, arrives for the boy Cully from the mother who had abandoned him two years earlier. The letter, an old out-of-tune piano, a curling photograph, and some names buried deep in his vanished youth draw Doc with Cully eastward on the National Road, Cully toward his future and Doc toward his forgotten youth. With quiet, poetic force, the journal-told story emerges like the gradual focusing of an old stereopticon, the two pictures blending to reveal an unsuspected three-dimensional depth as the lost boy searches for his mother and Doc tries to piece together a repressed and catastrophic past. Cully and Doc's odyssey of discovery is steeped in knowledge of and love for the land across which they journey. It is a true American myth, yet it reverberates with echoes of the Arthurian legend, of Henry Hudson, of the orphan trains, of traumatic conflagrations, and of the dying rooms where waifs' bodies are sold for cash. The dramatic and surprising ending is at once a tearful defeat and a smile-producing victory.

I Think I’ve Done Pretty Good!: Ruby Mae (Etherton) Owens Her Life, Her Family by James M. Owens Pdf

In "I Think I've Done Pretty Good!" I trace ninety-seven years of my mother's remarkable life, 1915 to 2012. Ruby Mae (Etherton) Owens grew up on a modest, by today's standards poor, Southern Illinois farm. She really did walk a mile to school, a one-room school, occasionally riding a mule. My mother boarded out and worked her way through high school and college. She taught in rural one-room schools, married, transitioned from rural to urban life, worked in the Willow Run Bomber Plant during World War II, gave birth to three children, taught in and retired from suburban schools. Her life is clearly a story of success. She is certainly proud of the way she lived her life. In later life, she often declared, with great satisfaction, "I Think I've Done Pretty Good!" I am confident the readers of this sketch will have a better awareness of what life was like in Ruby's time and will agree she "did pretty good!"

The Sand God by Jan E. Housley Pdf

It’s been five years since Andy came face to face with a shocking experience that forever changed his life. It all started with the mysterious disappearance of Carmelita Mendosa, a young woman in the small town of Bullsnort, New Mexico. As a rookie reporter, Andy found the case curious and couldn’t help but look into it. In June of 1980, Andy went to Bullsnort, assigned to investigate Carmelita’s disappearance. Everyone thought the worst but hoped for the best. Then, Andy saw something: a figure seemingly made of sand. To the Native American people, this was a Sand God, also known as a “Dust Devil.” Andy’s “devil” wasn’t what it appeared to be, though, and this sighting led him into many strange experiences that left him questioning his sanity. What had become of Carmelita, and what had drawn Andy to her case in the first place? Secrets are revealed, but suffice to say, Andy is never the same after that trip to the mountains.
