The Precambrian Geology of Lithuania by Gediminas Motuza Pdf
This book shows the results of structural, compositional and evolutionary investigations of the Precambrian crust of the East European Craton in Lithuania and adjacent areas. This work contributes to the recognition of the platform basement, which remains weekly investigated worldwide, despite it encompassing the surfaces of cratons. It presents a methodological example of systematic studies of the covered platform basement, integrating petrological, geochemical, isotopic, and geophysical methods, as well as geological mapping, in order to present comprehensive geological picture of the subject matter. In a systematic and summarized form, factual data and intellectual material acquired by researchers are combined. Important papers and industrial reports (also written in Russian and Lithuanian) make this information accessible for both local and international scientists and practitioners and stimulate the advertising, application, and augmentation of this knowledge

Assessment of Ore Deposit Settings, Structures and Proximity Indicator Minerals in Geological Exploration by Prakash R. Golani Pdf
This well-illustrated book aims to enhance observations and understanding of structural features and proximity-indicator minerals, critical in exploration. The book provides a unique blending of different content on observational and critical aspects of data acquisition, geological, structural, tectonic set-up, mineral deposit types, geophysical framework, and proximity indicator minerals. Combining these topics led to a comprehensive understanding to facilitate mineral targeting and exploration in green- and brown-field terrains. Besides field photographs, the write-up is lavishly supplemented with relevant geological and geophysical maps, tables, and case stories in field geology, making it useful for a much larger section of the geoscientific community professional geologists and geophysicists, students, teachers, and also decision-makers in geo-surveys and exploration.

The Development Potential of Precambrian Mineral Deposits by Sam Stuart Pdf
The Development Potential of Precambrian Mineral Deposits covers several aspects of Precambrian mineral resource potential and assessment towards mineral exploration and mineral reserves. This book contains 27 chapters and begins with an overview of the world production and consumption of certain minerals. The next chapters describe the physical and chemical characteristics of certain mineral ores, as well as the mineral content of certain rock assemblages. These topics are followed by discussions of the geographical distribution of some ores, including discovered metal bearing zones in Africa. Considerable chapters are devoted to exploration techniques in tropical, temperate, and sub-arctic Precambrian areas. The remaining chapters examine the action of metamorphic and other geological processes in mobilizing ore minerals. The book will prove useful to geologists, researchers, and geology students.

Minerals and Human Health by Larissa Dobrzhinetskaya Pdf
"Minerals and Human Health is written in response to the demand for additional knowledge about global climate change, the industrial contamination of water reservoirs, and epidemiological intoxication from industrial hazards related to the use of mineral resources. The book addresses issues associated with the physical and geological processes of the Earth, the sustainability and fragility of the Earth's resources, and the interplay between health, industrial activities, and environments. It combines mineralogy, medicine, and the environmental, life, and political sciences to develop solutions to ease human suffering from geological toxicity. Minerals and Human Health helps students to understand the Earth's activities and the unique resources that sustain life and facilitate industrial progress. The text teaches readers how the dispersal of geological materials effects the human population. In-book quizzes allow students to assess their own progress. Questions for discussion and review encourage critical thinking and debate and support retention. Minerals and Human Health can be used in courses on earth and environmental sciences, geopollution, and geochemistry. Larissa Dobrzhinetskaya earned her Ph.D. in geology and mineralogy from the Institute of Precambrian Geology and Geochronology in St. Petersburg, Russia. She is a faculty member in the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of California at Riverside. Dr. Dobrzhinetskaya is a recipient of long-term fellowships from the Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science and the Research Council of Norway. She is an elected Fellow of the Mineralogical Society of America, the Geological Society of America, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. She is also a recipient of the Distinguished Research Award of the University of California at Riverside. Author of over 100 peer-reviewed papers, her research interests include mineral resources, mineral synthesis in the laboratory, the role of minerals in understanding the Earth's dynamics, and the effects of minerals on environments. Geology and Geochemistry of Molybdenum Deposits in the Qinling Orogen, P R China by YanJing Chen,Franco Pirajno,Nuo Li,XiaoHua Deng,YongFei Yang Pdf
This book is the first systematic treatise of available data and view-points obtained from geological and geochemical studies of the Mo deposits in Qinling Orogen, China. Qinling Orogen has a minimum reserve of 8.7 Mt Mo, ranking the largest molybdenum province both in China and the world. Incorporating all known Mo deposit types in the world, it presents extensive studies of Mo deposits of world-class and unusual types within tectonic settings. The Qinling Orogen was finally formed during continental collision between Yangtze and North China cratons, following the Triassic closure of the northernmost paleo-Tethys. It hosts 49 Mo deposits formed in seven mineralization events since 1850 Ma, with all the world-class deposits being formed during 160-105 Ma, coeval with collisional orogeny. These deposits are assigned to magmatic and metamorphic hydrothermal classes. The magmatic hydrothermal class includes porphyries, skarns, and intrusion-related veins (carbonatite, fluorite and quartz). The porphyry Mo systems in Qinling Orogen are predominated by Dabie-type formed in continental collision setting, followed by Endako- and Climax-types formed in continental arcs and rifts, respectively. The metamorphic hydrothermal Mo deposits are only reported in Qinling Orogen, and thus a new crustal continuum model for the orogenic class mineral systems is proposed. A scientific linkage between ore geology and fluid inclusions is introduced and verified both by theory and case studies. This is the first research book comprehensively displaying continental collision metallogeny. This literature will benefit both Western and Chinese mineral explorers and miners, as well as research scientists and students.
