Broken Jar is for those who wish to be transformed by the Potter from a showboat into an ark of testimony for Him. It is for earthen vessels who know that to be continually molded by His hands-even broken and reformed, if need be-is the only way to keep bearing His hallmark-the only way to continue glorifying the true Potter. From January through December, these daily devotionals, anchored deeply in the Word of God, ask challenging questions about growing pains and comfortable stagnation: - Are we allowing the Potter to do as He pleases with us, the clay? - Do we trust Him to put pressure where it is needed to mold us to His liking, or do we stiffen at and shrink from His touch? - When we arrive at a shape we like, do we grow so proud and possessive of this present form that we disengage ourselves from the wheel to harden into an independent and finished pot to remain permanently "fixed"? This book is for those jars who refuse to stay fixed. Jan Doke is a retired high school English/Bible Literature teacher. She lives in Belton, Texas with her husband, Larry. Words From God's Own Heart by Eunice Fudge Burnham Pdf
The world today seems so empty, dark, and hopeless. People are fulfilling Bible prophesy regarding lawlessness, killings, and every other sin known to man. I wanted to write a book that would offer hope, forgiveness, and would give people a reason to wake up in the morning knowing they have a God who loves them and promises never to leave or forsake them. A God who gives peace and tranquility for those who believe in Him and follow His laws. These Christian poems and songs are meant to do just that, from God's own heart, given to me to pass on to you. As you read them, I pray the words will soothe your soul and quiet your spirit. May each word encourage, uplift, and show God's great love for His children, giving them hope, peace in their hearts, and love for each other, with a deeper love for Him. May you be as blessed reading His words as I was writing them.
Struggle for Power the Longest School Strike by Leon Bock Kavunedus, Dr,Leon Bock Pdf
Two people participating in the same events, yet on opposite sides, give an engrossing view of a struggle which engulfed a large community in northern Westchester County in New York State. It became the longest teachers strike in New York State's history. Even though they are personal memoirs, both authors try to give as full a picture of the personalities, institutions, and issues driving the struggle as each experienced it. The narrative is in two parts, side by side, and event by event. Both are impressionistic accounts that do not claim to be objective. Dr. Leon Bock's account is the viewpoint of a leader of a major institution, the Lakeland School District. In representing the district he had the heavy responsibility to merge the interests of students and parents, faculty, the taxpaying community, and the Board of Education. Mr. Thomas Kavunedus, a faculty member, served as a negotiator for the Lakeland Federation of Teachers. He saw his responsibilities as extending to the promotion of learning and teaching environment which would foster excellence. The contract with the school district, which Mr. Kavunedus had participated in promulgating years earlier, was a major step in raising teachers out of the dark ages of coffee in the boiler room, and hopefully greater professionalism. Both authors disagree with one another on many of the issues. Most of these issues bedevil our schools today. Yet, there is enough civility to recognize that partisanship need not be so all engulfing that it demonizes the other side and its objectives. No narrative of such a complex event can be totally accurate and objective. The authors try to focus on the interpersonal relationships, rather than serve as a textbook history of this series of complex events. There is no intention to discredit, or malign any of the personalities in the narrative; rather they are presented as the writers experienced them under conditions of stress.
