The Abba Tree by Devora Busheri Pdf

Hannah and Abba—Hebrew for "Dad"—are spending time together in nature on Tu B'Shevat, the Jewish Arbor Day. As Abba rests under a carob tree, Hannah declares that she wants to climb a tree. The carob tree's trunk is too skinny, but can she climb a eucalyptus tree or a pine tree or an olive tree? When each poses a challenge—for being too scratchy, for not having footholds—Abba offers new inspiration for climbing and insight into what Hannah and the carob tree share in common.

The Abba Tradition by Michael Hattwick Pdf

The ABBA Tradition is the spiritual and mystical tradition that lies deep within and behind western religions and modern cultures. It is the worldview that is the source, substance, and infrastructure of Judaism and Christianity. It is the one great tradition behind the Hebrew and Greek languages, the Old and New Testaments, ancient religions, and modern science. Whether you call it Kabbalah, the Four World Tradition or something else, it transcends the separation between the historic faiths and, more importantly, teaches a way of reconciliation and reunion. This book helps Christians discover the profound Jewish tradition that Jesus of Nazareth lived and taught, and also highlights one of the greatest Jews of all time: Joshua be Miriam of Nazareth, who first brought the Gentile nations to the holy one of Israel. Heal the wounds that separate us one from another, Jew from Christian, brother from sister – and discover the interrelated worlds of physicality, psychality, spirituality, and divinity with the wisdom in this book.

Population Genetics and Microevolutionary Theory by Alan R. Templeton Pdf

Population Genetics and Microevolutionary Theory Explore the fundamentals of the biological implications of population genetic theory In the newly revised Second Edition of Population Genetics and Microevolutionary Theory, accomplished researcher and author Alan R. Templeton delivers a fulsome discussion of population genetics with coverage of exciting new developments in the field, including new discoveries in epigenetics and genome-wide studies. The book prepares students to successfully apply population genetics analytical tools by providing a solid foundation in microevolutionary theory. The book emphasizes that population structure forms the underlying template upon which quantitative genetics and natural selection operate and is a must-read for future population and evolutionary geneticists and those who wish to work in genetic epidemiology or conservation biology. You’ll learn about a wide array of topics, including quantitative genetics, the interactions of natural selection with other evolutionary forces, and selection in heterogeneous environments and age-structured populations. Appendices that cover genetic survey techniques and probability and statistics conclude the book. Readers will also benefit from the inclusion of: A thorough introduction to population genetics, including the scope of the subject, its premises, and the Hardy-Weinberg Model of Microevolution An exploration of systems of mating, including a treatment of the use of runs of homozygosity to show pedigree inbreeding in distant ancestors A practical discussion of genetic drift, including the use of effective sizes in conservation biology (with a discussion of African rhinos as an example) A concise examination of coalescence, including a treatment of the infinite sites model Perfect for graduate students in genetics and evolutionary biology programs and advanced undergraduate biology majors, Population Genetics and Microevolutionary Theory will also earn a place in the libraries of students taking courses in conservation biology, human genetics, bioinformatics, and genomics.

Abba's Way by Stephen Rose Pdf

In Abba's Way, Jesus returns to set the world's religions straight. Abba is the shockingly-familiar Aramaic name for God that Jesus uses in the Lord's Prayer. Jesus argues that this very Abba is within each of us, ready to change our lives for the better. If we only have eyes to see. In 70 brief poetic essays, Jesus explains how we can move the world from its present violent precipice to a global society built around negotiation, individual achievement and openness to the presence of Abba in each person. On the occasion of the publication of Stephen C. Rose's 'The Grass Roots Church", The New York Times called the author a new Martin Luther whose theses might change today's world.

Abba's Baby Girl's Mind Transformation by Tracy B. Jones Ross Pdf

Abba's Baby Girl's Mind Transformation: Series 1 was written after my first minor surgery for my double mastectomy, when my blood pressure dropped and I felt my life slowly leaving me. I grabbed my OES sister's hand and began to pray in tongues. After waking up from an emergency surgery to stop the bleeding, I felt different. I knew how it felt to die. This feeling caused me to feel an urgency to do what God created me to do instead of doing my own thing. During my recovery, Abba God had me all alone with him to instruct me on how to get back on His path. His Word transformed my thoughts during my trials and temptations, causing my emotions and desires to change to God's will and allowing me to make clear choices that would bring me life, instead of death. The paths of life and death are written in the Bible, which guides me back to the center of the cross to gain instructions for the battles I will have to face. Each battle causes an aftermath transformation, which will cause a new testing of my faith in God, with temptation and trials. It was up to me whether I walk on the path of Abba or on the path of my own fleshly desires. Abba gave me an equation to guide me on my journey: TTEDCBA, which means my temptation and trials, will affect my emotion and desires. The choices I make will cause a battle between my faith and my flesh. The results of each battle will have an aftermath transformation. After receiving the equation, I heard a small voice ask me, "Who is dying waiting on you to tell your testimony so they can overcome the path of death?" So I began to write Abba's Baby Girl's Mind Transformation. I pray that my story will help you avoid the pit of death by walking according to the cross compass of TTEDCBA.

Species Tree Inference by Laura Kubatko,L. Lacey Knowles Pdf

"Inferring evolutionary relationships among a collection of organisms -- that is, their relationship to each other on the tree of life -- remains a central focus of much of evolutionary biology as these relationships provide the background for key hypotheses. For example, support for different hypotheses about early animal evolution are contingent upon the phylogenetic relationships among the earliest animal lineages. Within the last 20 years, the field of phylogenetics has grown rapidly, both in the quantity of data available for inference and in the number of methods available for phylogenetic estimation. The authors' first book, "Estimating Species Trees: Practical and Theoretical Aspects", published in 2010, gave an overview of the state of phylogenetic practice for analyzing data at the time, but much has changed since then. The goal of this book is to serve as an updated reference on current methods within the field. The book is organized in three sections, the first of which provides an overview of the analytical and methodological developments of species tree inference. Section two focuses on empirical inference. Section three explores various applications of species trees in evolutionary biology. The combination of theoretical and empirical approaches is meant to provide readers with a level of knowledge of both the advances and limitations of species-tree inference that can help researchers in applying the methods, while also inspiring future advances among those researchers with an interest in methodological development"--

The Holy Workshop Of Virtue by Tim Vivian,Rowan Greer,S. A. Mikhail Maged Pdf

Saint John the Little was a monk and hegumen of Scetis (Wadi Natrun) during the first great period of early Egyptian monasticism. The Apophthegmata preserve some fifty sayings by or about him (see CS 59, 85 '96). In addition, Zacharias, eighth-century Bishop of Sakha, wrote his Life, more than seventy percent of which is composed of material not found in the Apophthegmata. John bears witness to the formative period of early Egyptian monasticism. His Life, with its emphasis on obedience and compassion, offers a lively witness to the earliest monastic traditions and to their transmission and continuing importance in the Coptic Church. This book contains an introduction to the textual history of the Life of Saint John the Little (339 '409) along with fresh English translations of the Bohairic and the Syriac Lifes of John the Little plus the definitive Bohairc Life in the Coptic text. It will be of interest particularly to academics, monastics, and others interested in monasticism, early Christian monasticism, early Church History, the Coptic Church, or monastic spirituality. Tim Vivian is associate professor of religious studies at California State University, Bakersfield. He is the author of numerous books and articles on early Christian monasticism, including The Life of Antony (with Apostolos N. Athanassakis), CS202, and Becoming Fire: Through the Year with the Desert Fathers and Mothers, CS225, both published by Cistercian Publications. Rowan Greer is the Walter Gray Professor Emeritus of Anglican Studies at Yale Divinity School. His scholarly work has been primarily in patristics. Retired since 1997, he lives in New Haven, Connecticut. Maged S. A. Mikhal is assistant professor of history at California State University, Fullerton. His publications and research focus on the history of Egypt during the early Islamic period.
