The Barbed Crown by William Dietrich Pdf

In The Barbed Crown, the sixth tale of rogue and adventurer Ethan Gage by William Dietrich, our hero returns to Paris and London. Against a background of imperial pomp and the gathering clouds of war, Gage plots revenge on Napoleon Bonaparte for the kidnap of his son. Paris, the “City of Lights,” shines – but alongside its splendor is great squalor. Heroic patriotism rubs against mean ambition, while grand strategy and back-alley conspiracy are never far apart. While Ethan spies on the French court, his wife, Astiza, works to sabotage Napoleon’s coronation using the Crown of Thorns, a legendary relic said to have come from the Crucifixion itself. But when Napoleon is crowned nonetheless, they flee to England. At Walmer Castle on the English coast, Gage joins a daring campaign by Smith, Fulton, rocket inventor William Congreve and smuggler Tom Johnstone to halt Napoleon’s intended invasion of England – a campaign which leads Ethan to take a role in the Battle of Trafalgar itself…

Late Palaeozoic and Mesozoic Ecosystems in SE Asia by Eric Buffetaut,G. Cuny,Varavudh Suteethorn Pdf

Non-marine Late Palaeozoic and Mesozoic formations are widespread in mainland SE Asia. Although the first reports on fossils from some of these formations were published as early as the 1890s, it is only since 1980 that floras and faunas from the Permian, Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous of SE Asia have received the attention they deserve. Fieldwork in various parts of Thailand and Laos has revealed a succession of fossil assemblages that now allows a reconstruction of the evolution of continental ecosystems in that part of the world during the Late Palaeozoic and the Mesozoic. The first papers in this book present the geological background of these floral and faunal successions, as well as historical aspects of their discovery. Descriptions of new taxa and review papers deal with plants, sharks, bony fishes, turtles, crocodilians, dinosaurs and mammal-like reptiles. Papers about the Mesozoic palaeobiogeography, environments and climates of Asia conclude the volume.

Altaria by Randall W. Carson, Jr. Pdf

Enter The Gathering Isles: a series of islands taken center stage in the world of Altaria, a planet overseen by a hopeless god who cares little for His subjects. Here, That Child called Ray spends his days in silent monotone mediocrity, knowing he has a bigger place in the universe...but does not realize just how large a role he is yet to play. This tale chronicles the events surrounding The Prime Epitome’s birth, descent into madness, death, and glorious rebirth...all while revealing the purpose of The Tree that Knows. The result is ushering in not an era of prosperity, but instead choice and survival. It shall be the first of many such tales, setting the stage for a line of heroes and villains never seen before in all Altarian history. Told through poetry, this unique experience draws inspiration from the epic poems of Old Worlds past...just a few of the timeless classics of Altarian lore that have stood the test of time. May you enjoy reading this tale as much as I have had chronicling it. Thaezal! -The Talebinder
