The Central Teaching Jesus Christ by Thomas Dehany Bernard Pdf

Excerpt from The Central Teaching Jesus Christ: A Study and Exposition, of the Five Chapters of the Gospel According, to St. John, XIII, to XVII, Inclusive This book had its origin in some lectures delivered under a Diocesan scheme of "Higher Religious Education." Having afterwards undertaken to put in a readable shape the lines for the study of this part of Holy Scripture which had been then suggested, I soon found myself enlarging upon those notes, and exceeding the brief treatment proposed. In the holy atmosphere of that record, in presence of the solemn crisis to which it belongs, of the touching incidents, the wide range of discourse, and the deep significance of its words, a more anxious study and a more deliberate exposition were naturally created. The Universal Christ by Richard Rohr Pdf

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • From one of the world’s most influential spiritual thinkers, a long-awaited book exploring what it means that Jesus was called “Christ,” and how this forgotten truth can restore hope and meaning to our lives. “Anyone who strives to put their faith into action will find encouragement and inspiration in the pages of this book.”—Melinda Gates In his decades as a globally recognized teacher, Richard Rohr has helped millions realize what is at stake in matters of faith and spirituality. Yet Rohr has never written on the most perennially talked about topic in Christianity: Jesus. Most know who Jesus was, but who was Christ? Is the word simply Jesus’s last name? Too often, Rohr writes, our understandings have been limited by culture, religious debate, and the human tendency to put ourselves at the center. Drawing on scripture, history, and spiritual practice, Rohr articulates a transformative view of Jesus Christ as a portrait of God’s constant, unfolding work in the world. “God loves things by becoming them,” he writes, and Jesus’s life was meant to declare that humanity has never been separate from God—except by its own negative choice. When we recover this fundamental truth, faith becomes less about proving Jesus was God, and more about learning to recognize the Creator’s presence all around us, and in everyone we meet. Thought-provoking, practical, and full of deep hope and vision, The Universal Christ is a landmark book from one of our most beloved spiritual writers, and an invitation to contemplate how God liberates and loves all that is.

This historic book may have numerous typos and missing text. Purchasers can usually download a free scanned copy of the original book (without typos) from the publisher. Not indexed. Not illustrated. 1892 edition. Excerpt: ... i J Part I THE INCIDENTS CHAPTER I THE PREAMBLE "Now before the feast of Hie Passover, Jesus, knowing that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end." "This verse," says Bengel, " is a general exordium extending to all that is related in this and the following chapters." So most commentators take it, and such it obviously is. Such preambles are in the manner of St. John. There are several minor instances. The greatest is tho prologue to the Gospel itself. In the present case three particulars are promised. (1) Tho date, (2) tho consciousness of Jesus, and (3) the motive and character of his action. 1. The date ("before the feast of the Passover ") gives to what follows its place in history. It does not positively determine the question of the day, but places these hours at the commence 81 ment of the feaxt, -- the word then in use, not only for the paschal supper, hut for the whole festival week which it inaugurated. At this feast, commemorative of a typical redemption, the real redemption was wrought. This was apparently the third Passover in the public life of Jesus. At the first (ii. 13, 23) He claimed his rights as the Son in his Father's house, and "wrought many signs," with tho result that "many believed." If the un-named feast (v. 1) were a Passover, that would add another to the list, and another year to the ministry; hut the reasons on the opposite sido arc almost conclusive. The second, therefore, would he that which Ho did not attend (vi. 4), when it is mentioned as exceptional that "Ho walked in Galilee, and did not walk in Judea, iK'eauso the Jews sought to kill Him" (vii. 1). Now, on this third occasion, the time for...

Sheltering Mercy by Ryan Whitaker Smith,Dan Wilt Pdf

Sheltering Mercy helps us rediscover the rich treasures of the Psalms--through free-verse prayer renderings of their poems and hymns--as a guide to personal devotion and meditation. The church has always used the Psalms as part of its prayer life, and they have inspired countless other prayers. This book contains 75 prayers drawn from Psalms 1-75, providing lyrical sketches of what authors Ryan Smith and Dan Wilt have seen, heard, and felt while sojourning in the Psalms. While each prayer corresponds to a particular psalm and touches on its themes and ideas, it is not a new translation of the Psalms or an attempt to modernize or contextualize their content or language. Rather, the prayers are responses to the Psalms written in harmony with Scripture. These prayers help us quiet our hearts before God and welcome us into a safe place amid the storms of life. This artful, poetic, and classic devotional book features compelling custom illustrations and beautiful hardcover binding, offering a fresh way to reflect on and pray the Psalms.

Teachings of Jesus Christ by Repsaj Jasper Pdf

This is perhaps the first book detailing the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ on many key aspects of the gospel of salvation and the kingdom of the God, which had/have been concealed and not revealed as CORNERSTONE teachings of the gospel of salvation. The greatest consequence of this is the total contamination of the gospel of salvation while the true gospel or treasure has been hidden for centuries. The author has been discipled and led to write this book in the face of the full contamination of the gospel of salvation and the kingdom of the God, in order that believers may be revealed the true treasure so that they are able to understand the true gospel as taught by the Lord Jesus Christ. the Saviour of the world, when He was on the earth the first time. Only when believers understand and obey the truth of the gospel will they be set free from slavery to the sin. And only when those believers who are set free from slavery to the sin can they become sons of the God. And only sons of the God can remain in the kingdom of the God forever, meaning only sons of the God can receive everlasting life. The Lord Jesus Christ is the Road and the Truth and the Life. The Truth is the Word of the God. And in the New Testament days the main truth is the gospel of salvation. Therefore unless believers know(meaning understand) the truth concerning the gospel of salvation, how can they obey the truth of the gospel to receive everlasting life? And especially in the last days, unless believers know the truth of the gospel, how can they identify and reject false prophets, false teachers and false preachers who spread false gospel to lead them astray into everlasting fire? In view of the many different variations of translation and interpretation of the teachings of Paul, Peter, John and James regarding the gospel of salvation, it is imperative for believers to know and understand the CORNERSTONE teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ on the gospel of salvation and the kingdom of the God. There is a plethora of writings by "Christian authors and theologians and teachers" on the teachings of Paul on the gospel of salvation relating to the law and works and love and faith and obedience and perfection, etc. Many preachers and teachers of the Word of the God were/are confused themselves over such important issues. For believers to know the correct interpretation and translation of the teachings of the apostles and prophets on the gospel of salvation and the kingdom of the God, believers must know and understand the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ on the gospel of salvation and the kingdom of the God. The main topics taught by the Lord Jesus Christ as revealed in this Book are: -a) Everlasting life, b) Righteous & Righteousness, c) Kingdom of the heaven and kingdom of the God, d) Save/Saved, e) Salvation, f) Resurrections, g) Live/lived, h) Die or perish forever, i) Soul - lose, gain or save, j) Judgement based on works, k) The gospel of salvation.Readers are urged to test the content in this Book against the Unadulterated Word of the God(the original texts of the Holy Bible) to prove and/or to disprove its veracity.

The Gospel According to Mark by Anonim Pdf

The earliest of the four Gospels, the book portrays Jesus as an enigmatic figure, struggling with enemies, his inner and external demons, and with his devoted but disconcerted disciples. Unlike other gospels, his parables are obscure, to be explained secretly to his followers. With an introduction by Nick Cave
