Having formerly written a little work for Believers in affliction, which the Lord has condescended to make a great blessing to many; I have been urgently requested to write one on the same plan - for those who in health and ease have neglected the one thing needful. May multitudes have reason to bless God that "The voice of Mercy" was ever published, and may the God of mercy, who alone can make it useful - accompany it with his effectual blessing. This book is intended for the afflicted; its design is to produce conviction, penitence, faith, and joy in God.
