Grappa Thoughts by Bruno Amalia-Manfredi Pdf

No Sunday school teacher, Kool-Aid drinker or politician is ever going to be ok with any of the contents of this book, oh well. So many people have become sick and tired of how soft and fluffy the world has become. Where anything and everything is either offensive or dangerous, regardless if it was intended to be or not. A world where bubble wrap and participation ribbons are now more valued than honesty and hard work. Yet, few will ever admit to this out loud due to a fear of reprisal at the hands of a right fighter or political correctness warriors, but that’s not here. A liquor infused, open, honest, direct personal insights about the strange world we have now made, that only gets more and more interesting and unique as each additional shot is consumed. If words + booze + free thinking scare you, you’re likely going to be wetting the bed tonight. Sleep with a nightlight on and a butter knife under your pillow and you’ll be alright, but if you don’t just drink the lukewarm water from the fishbowl of this Band-Aid, beige world, you may find some truth, humour and a lot of questions both raised and maybe even answered within here. www.GrappaThoughts.com

Soul Mission, Life Vision by Alan Seale Pdf

In the Introduction of his groundbreaking new work, Alan Seale writes, "This book is the owner's manual you never received when you entered this world, offering both the theory and the practice that can lead you to getting the most out of your life -- physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually." What follows is an intensely detailed program of exercises, meditations, and activities that ultimately allows you to achieve what you were put on this earth to accomplish -- your soul mission. Settle in your favorite chair with Alan's book, a pen, and plenty of paper, and begin this four-fold process -- discovery, declaration of mission and vision, utilizing the mind and thought for creation, and living your mission by manifesting your vision. Discover a "big-picture view" of life beyond the constraints of any situation. Develop the power to make choices out of desire and clarity rather than circumstantial necessity. Examine your previous life choices and plan your next great steps, this time informed by what your soul deeply longs for. Alan creates the term full-spectrum living, -- embracing all that life has to offer as well as all that you have to offer life -- to define the ultimate goal of this book. His sage advice and proven program ensures that you get there. Book jacket.

The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind by Julian Jaynes Pdf

National Book Award Finalist: “This man’s ideas may be the most influential, not to say controversial, of the second half of the twentieth century.”—Columbus Dispatch At the heart of this classic, seminal book is Julian Jaynes's still-controversial thesis that human consciousness did not begin far back in animal evolution but instead is a learned process that came about only three thousand years ago and is still developing. The implications of this revolutionary scientific paradigm extend into virtually every aspect of our psychology, our history and culture, our religion—and indeed our future. “Don’t be put off by the academic title of Julian Jaynes’s The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind. Its prose is always lucid and often lyrical…he unfolds his case with the utmost intellectual rigor.”—The New York Times “When Julian Jaynes . . . speculates that until late in the twentieth millennium BC men had no consciousness but were automatically obeying the voices of the gods, we are astounded but compelled to follow this remarkable thesis.”—John Updike, The New Yorker “He is as startling as Freud was in The Interpretation of Dreams, and Jaynes is equally as adept at forcing a new view of known human behavior.”—American Journal of Psychiatry

Life often evolves differently than we had hoped or expected. Some of life's transitions lead to a love we have only dreamed of, but others can traumatize and overwhelm us completely. As a result, we feel discouraged and disenchanted as we quietly start to wonder about the meaning of life. John Edwards understands this deeply as he takes us on an elegant, insightful, and profound journey of his personal experiences that are a jumping-off point for discussing how cultural, psychological, and sociological influences determine the nature of our happiness and disappointments. John invites us into his incredible odyssey of life events with humor, vulnerability, and courage. In his story, he explores the challenges of navigating through the joy of falling in love, providing for his family, and the painful disruptions of infidelity, divorce, and estrangement with passion and empathy. A unique and beautifully written book that interweaves the theme of musical songs and lyrics as a timeline and vehicle of emotional expression that mere written words could not suffice. Who Wants Flowers When You're Dead? by Kathleen Walker Pdf

Who Wants Flowers When You're Dead? is the memoir of a woman who questions her choices while searching for meaning and purpose in her life. Kathleen Walker used to place flowers on her parents' graves. Teach Them All to Think by Dr. Muriel Gerhard Pdf

It just happened! There they were! Shouting! “Put it in a book! The research is significant! The magazine “Grade Teacher” devoted the whole issue to the research. What is significant is that we can teach for thinking! We can improve our pupil`s cognitive skills, be they decision- making, creativity, analysis, problem- solving, inductive and deductive reasoning, as well as concept development, to mention just a few. It all began when I had given a presentation at the ASCD convention addressing over 500 educators following a nine- year study on inquiry and cognitive-centered teaching funded by The Ford Foundation and now found myself mobbed by publishers to “PUT IT IN A BOOK! The book was written in ten weeks and it sold and sold and sold one hundred thousand copies and --- was translated into many foreign languages. This resulted in teaching pupils at all grade levels to process information, to develop conceptual frameworks and in depth understanding of the content in all disciplines be it mathematics, the sciences, the social science, music and the arts. Learners developed and “grew” concepts and conceptual frameworks and really understood the material as opposed to mouthing memorized sequences of words. Let me show you what I am trying to convey. I visited a first grade class and there they were singing praises to TWO, chanting One and One is TWO. Then it happened! One little boy raised his hand and blurted out, “What`s a two? We live in a conceptual world. Whether we are teaching kindergarten children their ABCs or graduate students advanced mathematics, we must teach so that they truly understand what they are talking about, so that they can develop concepts, simple concepts first and then more intricate concepts. That my friends is---- what learning is all about. My career has spanned over sixty years spent examining, researching, developing, writing and teaching various methods teachers can use to educate our children more effectively. So here it is, an updated version of the original book, designed for the digital age and our digital destiny providing our new generation with the critical cognitive skills to deal with a very challenging future! The processes and strategies are clearly delineated and applicable to every discipline at every level of instruction. These have been researched and evaluated. In sum, the world has become far more complex than any of us as educators could have envisioned. We are being deluged with the new, the unknown. We will need thinkers and problem solvers. Teach them all to think. Need I say more?
