The Commandments of the Lord and Master by Godsword Onu Pdf

The Lord Who made all men did not leave us without Laws and Commandments. God hates lawlessness, and He has no such plans in His Mind. In all His Relationships with man, He has instructed man on what to do and what to refrain from doing. And when God commands man to do anything, it is mandatory (and not optional) that man obey Him. All men will give account to God, Who will reward obedience and punish disobedience. You may think that He is not aware of what you are doing, but the devil has deceived you. God's Commandments are not meant to destroy us, but to make us. When He commands us, it is for our own good, that He may bless us. God commands us to test our obedience to Him, and to keep us from going by the way of the devil.

Holy Spirit and Religious Experience in Christian Literature ca. AD 90-200 by John Eifion Morgan-Wynne Pdf

'Holy Spirit and Religious Experience' seeks to find out how far the centrality of the Holy Spirit in Christian experience during the earliest period of the church was maintained or diminished in the third to the fifth generations (ca. AD 90-200). Three themes are explored. First, the sense of encounter with the divine presence, the numinous, a sense of being caught up into the divine being or being overwhelmed by the One who is beyond us. Secondly, a sense of being illuminated in respect to the truth, given deeper understanding of God's purpose, whether for the individual or the congregation, or guided in decision-making. Thirdly, a sense of ethical empowerment, an awareness of being helped by divine power, assisted in a course of action or development of character, in grappling with temptation, or in the ultimate test of loyalty, martyrdom. This book is arranged geographically, from Syria and Asia Minor in the East to Rome and Gaul in the West, including North Africa and Egypt. Christian authors within these areas are examined chronologically, from the later New Testament writers through the second century to Clement of Alexandria and Tertullian of Carthage, for the evidence they supply. The variegated picture which emerges, it is contended, reflects second-century Christianity.

Life Principles of the Master by Wilson David Pdf

The Sermon on the Mount, spoken so long ago, contains the most concentrated teachings of Jesus in the Scriptures. In Jesus¿ day the prevailing religion claimed to serve the true God; however, it had been distorted by the commandments and doctrines of men. Sadly, little has changed. Jesus¿ words from long ago still startle and challenge us. Yet we must remember they are the words of heaven and therefore must be followed. Following the words and teachings of Jesus has always required coming apart from the crowd and the prevailing religions of the day. Following the life principles of the Master requires us to ¿be still, and know that I am God¿ (Psalm 46:10). It means being alone with God, understanding the littleness of our lives, and bowing before the Master of the universe, whose words spoken so long ago still speak blessings today to all who will listen.

The Lord's Supper by Thomas Lupich Pdf

Thomas Lupich is the Preceptor of the International Society of Seekers of the Truth, a retired electrical designer from Princeton University's Plasma Physics Laboratory, and a taiji instructor with an interest in science and health. His major interest is Biblical Truth. He, therefore, considers himself a Truth Seeker: an avocation that he recommends to all men. Jesus commanded his disciples to become Seekers of the Truth and Thomas Lupich took Him at His Word. Solomon had this to say, "It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honor of kings is to search out a matter." Thomas has written "The Lord's Supper Mingle With the Best" to expound on the meaning and the blessings of the Eucharist. The Lord's Supper has various important layers of meaning, but much more importantly, it tells us how we can be transmuted into beings much like Him. The hope of the author is to share with his readers the Eucharist's Light and its ability to transmute lives in the following way. Those that truly partake of the Lord's Supper will be "mingling with the Best," i.e., "The Father and The Son." The mingling will cause much of the Best to rub off on them. What rubs off will make them grow and glow, not only in this present age, but also in the eons to come!

Forty-Nine Truths and the Pentecost by John D. Richie Pdf

This work results from years of studying God's Word and observation of the current trends in Christianity. The problem with Christianity today is that it has forgotten that the battle is not with those without, but with the foolishness, sin, and unbelief in the believer. The forty-nine truths contained herein appear to be the most neglected in this age. Considering that God's Word is not open to personal interpretation, each Scripture quotation is left to individual understanding through the visitation of the Holy Spirit. Although some explanation is given, my intent is to guide the reader toward understanding; and not to impose upon them my own understanding. It is perhaps ironic that many Christians professing Jesus to be their Lord and Master may spend eternity in a place they would not desire. God's Word states that a follower of Jesus that does not keep his sayings will not inherit the kingdom of heaven. The truths discussed herein are the sayings of Jesus, not mine. The Pentecost follows these forty-nine truths. It is a day that is in the future. It will be a happy day for many, but the road thereto is troubled with much tribulation.
