The Dental Reference Manual by Geraldine M. Weinstein,Mitchell T. Zientz Pdf

This book is designed to meet the needs of both dental students and dentists by providing succinct and quickly retrievable answers to common dental questions. Students will find both that it clearly presents the particulars which should be familiar to every dentist and that it enables them to see the big picture and contextualize information introduced to them in the future. Practicing dentists, on the other hand, will employ the book as a daily reference to source information on important topics, materials, techniques, and conditions. The book is neither discipline nor specialty specific. The first part is wide ranging and covers the essentials of dental practice while the second part addresses individual specialties and the third is devoted to emergency dental treatment. Whether as a handy resource in the student s backpack or as a readily available tool on the office desk, this reference manual fills an important gap in the dental literature.

Operative Technics by W. H. O. McGehee Pdf

Excerpt from Operative Technics: A Convenient Reference Manual for Practitioners and Students of Dentistry The effort has been made to so condense, simplify and systematize the presentation of the subject matter that it will at once attract the eye and hold the attention of the as yet untrained mind. Very little of originality, except in the presentation of the subject, is claimed for the work, the author having in the main followed the accepted teachings of such writers as G. V. Black, A. E. Webster, Thomas E. Weeks, D. M. Cattell, Fred W. Jethro, C. N. Johnson, D. M. Gallie, Marcus L. Ward, John Sayre Marshall, T. N. Broomell, Philipp Fischelis, Otto E. Inglis, J. P. Buckley, L. M. Waugh, Chas. J. Essig, Augustus Koenig, J. D. Hodgson, W. Clyde Davis and others. The writer has endeavored to follow out in the presentation of the subject the ideas accepted and recommended by the Institute of Dental Pedagogics as incorporated in the published transactions of that body, and the work has been examined by the Commission on Text-books of that organization. The technical exercises have been outlined after a study of the courses as taught in many of the prominent schools, and after an experience of fifteen years as a teacher of the subject. They may be modified according to the judgment of the teacher to suit the needs of any classes. If the work proves to be of assistance to teachers in outlining their courses and to the'great body^of young'men yearly entering upon the study of a noble profession, in acquiring a knowledge of the subjects of Dental Anatomy and elementary Operative Dentistry, the author will feel well repaid for the labor expended in its preparation.
