Divine Life of the Most Holy Virgin Mary by Mary Agreda,Brother Hermenegild Pdf

Among the pious faithful of the present day there is a holy desire to know everything that may concern the Blessed Virgin i\Iary, whom God predestined to be the Mother of the Eternal Word, who was to become incarnate for the salvation of men. It seems to us that many souls having an ardent devotion to the august Queen of heaven, will rejoice to read a work which contains a faithful, minute, and complete relation of her marvellous life. Therefore, we are well assured of the welcome which this Life will receive from pious Catholics, who justly glory in living in the age of Mary. What a sweet joy shall it be for children devoted to the august Mother, to know that which constitutes the glory and grandeur of the incomparable Queen of angels and men! According to the designs of His divine providence, God did not manifest all the ineffable mysteries of the life of the august Mary during the first ages of the Church. In fact, it was but right that the law of grace should be established, and the Gospel of Christ promulgated, before the faithful should learn the grandeur, glory, titles and prerogatives of her who was raised above the angels. The holy evangelists themselves were compelled to be silent concerning what they knew of the Mother of God, because the proper time for making it known had not arrived. The human mind is so weak and ignorant, that the manifestation of those mysteries, at a time when the faith and doctrine of the Incarnation were not fully established, would have occasioned much trouble and difficulty. The august Qul'en of heaven made this known to her beloved daughter, Mary of Jesus of Agrcda, in order to explain to her why she l~ad been chosen by God to make known to .the faithful the secret mysteries communicated to her. We will quote the words addressed by the Blessed Virgin to the seraphic servant of God. It is important that they should be read with the utmost attention."I see, my daughter, that thou art astonished that the Evangelists have not written the wonderful things which the Most High operated in my regard. I answer (and desire that my words be engraven on the hearts of all men) that I myself ordered the Evangelists to write of me only that which was necessary to establish the articles of faith, and the precepts of the law of grace. As Mistress of the Church. and from the inspirations of the Most High, I knew it was not proper to reveal more at the first foundation of the Church ."All my prerogatives were included in my dignity of Mother of God, and in what had been said of me, that I was full of grace. But the manifestation of all that remained hidden. Was reserved by Divine Providence for a suitable time, when the faith would be more firmly established. It is true that even from the beginning, the Church has announced some of the mysteries which concern me, but the revelation in its fulness, has been made to thee, although a vile creature, because of the wants of the world in its present unhappy state. For this reason, the Divine Mercy has willed to give to men so efficacious a means, that they may seek their remedy and eternal salvation through my intercession."Before His glorious ascension, the Divine Jesus spoke to the one hundred and twenty persons assembled by Divine Providence to be witnesses of that sacred mystery. They were, in one sense. the entire Church, to whom the Divine Master left His last instructions regarding His Blessed Mother."My dear children," said He, "I return to my Father, from whom I came to save and redeem men. In my stead, I leave you my Mother, who will be your protectress, your advocate, yourconsoler, and your mother."

St. Alphonsus writes: “a single bad book will be sufficient to cause the destruction of a monastery.” Pope Pius XII wrote in 1947 at the beatification of Blessed Maria Goretti: “There rises to Our lips the cry of the Saviour: 'Woe to the world because of scandals!' (Matthew 18:7). Woe to those who consciously and deliberately spread corruption-in novels, newspapers, magazines, theaters, films, in a world of immodesty!” We at St. Pius X Press are calling for a crusade of good books. We want to restore 1,000 old Catholic books to the market. We ask for your assistance and prayers. This book is a photographic reprint of the original The original has been inspected and many imperfections in the existing copy have been corrected. The Mystical City of God is a monumental four-volume history of the life of the Blessed Virgin Mary, as revealed by Our Lady to Venerable Mother Mary of Jesus of Agreda (1602—1665), a 17th century Spanish nun. Venerable Mary saw in ecstasy all the events recorded within the books. Later, Our Lady told her to write them down—the result is The Mystical City of God, acclaimed by Popes, cardinals and theologians, a book which has inspired the laity and the clergy for over 300 years and which has gone into sixty editions in various languages. Arguably, the most important book—second only to the Bible—ever to have been written. The Mystical City of God, revealed to Mother Mary of Jesus by Heaven itself, complements and completes the story of the life of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ but, in addition, provides the rich history of the entire life of His Most Blessed Mother. Through the study of Our Lady, we come to know Her, Her Son and the Blessed Trinity in ways never before imagined. The Mystical City of God consists of 4 volumes; The Conception, The Incarnation, The Transfixion and The Coronation. This is the unabridged Volume I, “The Conception”, containing Books 1 and 2. The Life of Mary As Seen By the Mystics by Raphael Brown Pdf

A masterpiece that combines the visions of four great Catholic mystics into one coherent story on the life of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Based primarily on the famous revelations of Ven. Anne Catherine Emmerich and Ven. Mary of Agreda, it also includes many episodes described in the writings of St. Bridget of Sweden and St. Elizabeth of Schenau. To read this book, therefore, is to share in the magnificent visions granted to four of the most priviledged souls in the history of the Church. In complete harmony with the Gospel story, this book reads like a masterfully written novel. It includes such fascinating details as the birth and infancy of Mary, her espousal to St. Joseph and her Assumption into Heaven where she was crowned Queen of Heaven and Earth. For young and old alike, The Life of Mary As Seen by the Mystics will forever impress the reader with an inspiring and truly unforgettable understanding of the otherwise unknown facts concerning Mary and the Holy Family.

Meditations on the Most Blessed Virgin by Brother Philippe Pdf

THE faithful children of the Church, throughout the Catholic world, as well as every true religious, cherish the devotion to the Most Holy Virgin, strive to obtain its true spirit and observe all the practices it enjoins, because they feel that this devotion satisfies the innermost wants of the soul, opens up an unfailing fountain of divine grace, and procures for us the purest - the most inexpressible joys. Among the most efficacious means which our Holy Mother the Church has instituted to promote and foster this devotion in our souls, there is none more beneficial in its effects and influence than the holy practice of regular and daily meditation on the prerogatives, the life, the virtues, the glorious mission of Mary; of contemplating, by the light of faith, the Most Blessed Virgin, the master-piece of the Creator, the model of all virtues, the exalted Mother of the Incarnate Word, the Queen of Heaven, raised in glory far above the cherubim, yet, tenderly hearkening to our supplications, shedding around us the love of her own heart, accepting our humble offerings, and bestowing upon us those celestial treasures which flow through her as the channel of divine mercy. It is impossible to meditate on the attributes of Mary without being filled with the most intense desire to honor her name and invoke her intercession so to live as to merit her protection now, that hereafter we may participate in her glory. Who can behold her in anyone of the aspects in which she presents herself to our piety without experiencing, in his heart, the love of the most exalted virtue? The object of the present work is to render some aid in the proper performance of this holy and salutary exercise. We shall consider in order: 1. The life of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary. 2. Her virtues. 3. Her exalted greatness and her patronage. 4. The devotion of which she is the object. The Meditations will be sufficiently numerous: I. For all the Feasts of the Most Blessed Virgin. 2. For every day in the month of Mary. 3. For the Saturdavs on which no particular feast occurs.
