The author of this book, Thomas Chalmers, (1780 -1847) was a Scottish minister, professor of theology, and a leader of both the Church of Scotland and of the Free Church of Scotland. He has been called "Scotland's greatest nineteenth-century churchman."Rev. Chalmers presents a history of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and delegated Messenger of Heaven -his life, his doctrines, and his miracles. In his development of the evidences of Christianity, he lays the main stress of his appeal upon the external, or the historical evidences.
