‘A great man in Indian politics’ —Dr Ram Manohar Lohia on Dr Ambedkar Dr Ambedkar’s role in the cause of social emancipation has been researched and written about extensively. His part in the drafting of the Indian Constitution between 1946 and 1950 has also received considerable attention. In The Foresighted Ambedkar, Anurag Bhaskar argues that India’s Constitution was drafted not just between 1946 and 1950 but over the course of four decades. Dr Ambedkar was the only person to have been involved at all the stages related to the drafting of the Indian constitutional document since 1919. These stages bear the imprint of his contribution and role. This book seeks to focus on Dr Ambedkar’s influence on the Indian constitutional discourse from 1919, when he entered public life, until the actual writing of the Constitution and even beyond. Covering the different constitutional moments as and when they happened, it highlights Dr Ambedkar’s role in those moments. A seminal work of intellectual and constitutional history, this volume demonstrates why Dr Ambedkar is rightly called the ‘Father of the Indian Constitution’.

The story of the father of the Indian Constitution Born in April 1891into a poor Mahar family, Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar was a victim of caste discrimination for most of his early life. And while India struggled against the oppressions of British Raj, Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, popularly known as Babasaheb, continued his struggle against the oppressions of the Indian caste system, the social discriminations against Dalits in India. He struggled so the underprivileged sections of Indian society could enjoy equal political rights and be treated with equal respect. An Indian jurist, politician, philosopher, anthropologist, historian and economist, Babasaheb was one of the earliest Dalit’s to earn a college degree. He grew to be the principal architect of Indian constitution. He published journals, periodicals, and launched active movements for social and political freedom for India’s Dalit community. Ambedkar, in the later years of his life, turned to Buddhism, preached it and finally made a formal conversion. This book explores the life and times of the independent India's first law minister who fought against the discriminations inflicted by his own countrymen, who lived his life acting only in the interest of people. A Wake Up Call for Every Indian by Prahalad Rao Pdf

The book is based on the last address of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar to the Constituent Assembly on 25th November, 1949. Dr. Ambedkar expressed great concerns on the preservation of the Democracy enshrined in the Constitution. These concerns made the author take up writing. The country has been in turmoil for about the past 30 years with an uncertain future for the present and coming generations. The idea is to recapture Dr. Ambedkar's message to the political parties governance and to people. The author has made an earnest effort to highlight the concerns of the father of the Constitution and his farsightedness to forewarn politicians and the people of the country about what would happen if self-interest takes the front seat and the interest of the country is pushed back. In the midst of the prevailing chaos, the author, through this book, wishes to give A Wake Up Call to Every Indian, not from his own views, but from those who foresaw the emerging critical political environment in the country which is destroying the basic constitutional fiber as well as threatening the democratic development of the country. Our independence can only be sustained if there is a coherent call from political and religious leaders, who are ignoring their fundamental duties for their own self aggrandizement. The need of the hour is to sprinkle and spread the perfume of harmony and oneness without ascribing any kind of scourge but upholding the God-given message of humanism as the sole consideration for development in every walk of life. A nation is built not merely on valor but through upholding the virtues of the ancestors and those who sacrificed their lives for freedom.

Ambedkar & Modi by BlueKraft Digital Foundation Pdf

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar's influence has overarching impact on the making of Modern India. However, his legacy was sidelined and subjected to institutional neglect. The book is a prism that reflects upon the multitude of contributions of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar in the nation building process. Many of his ideas and interventions continue to define our governance paradigm, especially with PM Narendra Modi at the helm ensuring that his legacy is revived. The book studies the points of intersection of India’s development story under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the ideals of Babasaheb. It also highlights the striking parallels between the two towering personalities that succeeded against all odds and worked to dismantle stifling social structures that they themselves experienced from close quarters.

A Complete Biography of Dr. Ambedkar by Pankaj Kishore Pdf

Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar is considered the Messiah of the Dalits in India. In 1947, the Constituent Assembly appointed him as the chairman of the Drafting Committee constituted for drafting the Constitution for independent India. He played a key role in building the Constitution. He was born on 14 April 1891 at Mhow (near Indore), a small town of present Madhya Pradesh. He was the fourteenth child of Subedar Ramji and Bhimabai Sakpal. Being from the Maharcaste, he was treated as an ‘untouchable’. His father and his grandfather had served in the British Army. Good schools were arranged by the then government for the education of the children of all military personnel. Therefore, despite being from a low caste, he got a good education. In 1937, Dr Ambedkar introduced a bill to end the ‘Khoti’ practice of Mahars working as official slaves in the Konkan region. When India became independent in 1947, he adorned the post of the Minister of Law. He had made a clarion call—‘Lost rights are never regained by begging... but by relentless struggle’. For his remarkable work, he was posthumously awarded India’s highest civilian award ‘Bharat Ratna’ in the year 1990.

Modern Hindu Trinity : Ambedkar-Hedgewar-Gandhi by Y.G. Bhave Pdf

Maharshi Aurobindo believed that the 21st century is for the Hindus. Are the Hindus ready for that? Will they rise to the occasion? It will depend on how the Hindu community has shaped itself in the century that has just ended, the 20th century. Three great men have been mainly responsible for moulding the Hindu society in the byegone century, Ambedkar, Hedgewar and Gandhi. They can be definitely referred to as the MODERN HINDU TRINITY. - Ambedkar raised the standard of revolt against the many evils that had crept up in the Hindu society over a period of time and of which untouchability was the worst and most unpardonable sin. - Hedgewar diagnosed that the Hindu community of his time lacked vitality in the shape of unity. He advocated that once unity was restored in the Hindu community all its weakness will disappear and it will be ready to face all challenges, both internal and external. - Mahatma Gandhi made social reforms in the Hindu society an integral part of the freedom struggle which he led so very ably from 1920 upto the attainment of Freedom. Read this book to understand and appreciate the vital contributions made by these modern Brahma , Vishnu and Mahesh in making the Hindu community ready for its historic role in the current century. You will also be in a position to realise what part you have to play in making Maharshi Aurobindo’s prophecy a reality.

This Book ‘Dr B.R. Ambedkar : True Leader, not a false God’ is written as a rejoinder to Mr. Arun Shourie’s book ‘Worshipping False Gods’ inwhich Mr. Shourie had made various allegations against Dr Ambedkar. The book tries to cover Dr. Ambedkar’s work from 1932 to 1953—Poona Pact to his resignation from Nehru's Cabinet; his struggle for political and social empowerment of his people(depressed class) and confrontation with Mahatma Gandhi over issue of reservation for depressed class; his tenure as member of Executive Council of Viceroy and his attitude towards Quit India Movement, and finally his work in the formation of the Constitution as Chairman of Drafting Committee. A separate chapter is also added, which is summary of his seminal work‘Thoughts on Pakistan’ to dispel the wrong notion that he was in support of demand for Pakistan. Dr. Ambedkar’s speech while resigning from the Nehru Cabinet is also added as last chapter to highlight his commitment to Hindu Code Bill, which he termed as biggest reform of Hindu society and his frustration and anguish over his failure to get it passed in Parliament.
