THE GOLDEN SPRINGTIME by Steffen Pichler Pdf

It is the year 2038, when life on our once so beautiful planet is nearing its end. Famine, disease and escalating ecological destruction rage as an unstoppable avalanche of extreme viruses, fungi and other parasites rule freely, capitalising on mankind’s misguided agricultural practice and genetic engineering. Civilisation is on the brink of collapse, but a desperate lie told by world leaders, offering a fantastic future to the condemned, creates a bizarre euphoria: The Golden Springtime of Man. While terrified humanity is temporarily appeased and exhilarated, in the background of the events every word, every theory and every equation ever written down in the history of civilisation is desperately re-examined for fresh wisdom by using a high-performance supercomputer. This search for salvation eventually leads all the way back to 1890 and unearths writings of a spoilt, aristocratic, English adventurer, who once journeyed to Australia to boost his ego and capture the biggest of all crocodiles. What he found instead, as one of the few white men to make deepest contact with Aboriginal hunter-gatherer tribes, was enlightenment that would radically expand humanity’s knowledge and perception of the laws of nature and demand life as we know it to change. All eyes are wide open now, but is there enough time left to change everything and stop the apocalypse? Although the story is fictitious, its basis is not grounded in fantasy. The author himself has spend many years in nature, partly in far-north Australia. And shortly after its 2019 release in Germany, civilisation has already been brought to its knees by a devastating pandemic, of the type predicted in the book.

The Sceptred Flute Songs of India - The Golden Threshold, The Bird of Time & The Broken Wing by Sarojini Naidu,Mary C. Sturgeon Pdf

First published in 1943, “The Sceptred Flute Songs of India” contains the complete poetical works of Indian poet and activist Sarojini Naidu (1879–1949). Naidu (1879–1949) was an Indian political activist and poet. She was a staunch proponent of women's emancipation, civil rights, and anti-imperialistic ideas, playing an important role in India's struggle for independence from colonial rule. Her work as a poet includes both children's poems and others with more mature themes including patriotism, romance, and tragedy, earning her the sobriquet “Nightingale of India”. Her most famous work is "In the Bazaars of Hyderabad" (1912), which remains widely read to this day. Contents include: “The Golden Threshold”, “Folk Songs”, “Songs for Music”, “Poems”, “The Bird of Time”, “Songs of Love and Death”, “Songs of the Springtime”, “Indian Folk-songs to Indian Tunes”, “Songs of Life”, etc. A fantastic collection not to be missed by fans of Naidu's seminal work. Other notable works by this author include: “Songs of Nature” and “Muhammad Jinnah: An Ambassador of Unity” (1919). This classic work is being republished now in a new edition complete with an introductory chapter from 'Studies of Contemporary Poets' by Mary C. Sturgeon.

Songs from the Golden Flute by Cris Janoff Pdf

SONGS from the GOLDEN FLUTE is a collection of poems and lyrics. Drawn from a fountain of joy, of sorrow, of yearning, and of hope, this book was not written for just one group of people, but rather, for everyone. For we all yearn to feel happy instead of sad, fulfilled instead of empty, and love instead of loneliness. We all have a Golden Flute, an instrument with which to make beautiful, inspiring, and heartfelt music. The only question is - will we let it sit and gather dust or pick it up and play it from our hearts, truthfully and triumphantly!

The Golden Age Musicals of Darryl F. Zanuck by Bernard F. Dick Pdf

Beginning with The Jazz Singer (1927) and 42nd Street (1933), legendary Hollywood film producer Darryl F. Zanuck (1902–1979) revolutionized the movie musical, cementing its place in American popular culture. Zanuck, who got his start writing stories and scripts in the silent film era, worked his way to becoming a top production executive at Warner Bros. in the later 1920s and early 1930s. Leaving that studio in 1933, he and industry executive Joseph Schenck formed Twentieth Century Pictures, an independent Hollywood motion picture production company. In 1935, Zanuck merged his Twentieth Century Pictures with the ailing Fox Film Corporation, resulting in the combined Twentieth Century-Fox, which instantly became a new major Hollywood film entity. The Golden Age Musicals of Darryl F. Zanuck: The Gentleman Preferred Blondes is the first book devoted to the musicals that Zanuck produced at these three studios. The volume spotlights how he placed his personal imprint on the genre and how—especially at Twentieth Century-Fox—he nurtured and showcased several blonde female stars who headlined the studio’s musicals—including Shirley Temple, Alice Faye, Betty Grable, Vivian Blaine, June Haver, Marilyn Monroe, and Sheree North. Building upon Bernard F. Dick’s previous work in That Was Entertainment: The Golden Age of the MGM Musical, this volume illustrates the richness of the American movie musical, tracing how these song-and-dance films fit within the career of Darryl F. Zanuck and within the timeline of Hollywood history.
