Video Production by James C Foust,Edward J Fink,Lynne S Gross Pdf

This popular book introduces readers to the operations underlying video production. It provides thorough coverage of the theory readers need to know, balancing complexity with practical "how-to" information about detailed subjects, and it does so in a concise, conversational style. The authors have incorporated the major changes that have occurred in recent years; further increased the emphasis on digital, non-linear video production; updated and expanded information on mobile technologies; and added more than 25 new or updated figures. The subtitle remains "disciplines and techniques" because the book's focus continues to be on the fact that students need those foundations in order to be successful in video production, no matter where they may end up. Its affordable, student-friendly price, companion website, and print book and ebook options add to this book's practical nature.

Computer Graphics Programming by Günter Enderle,Klaus Kansy,Günther Pfaff Pdf

TO COMPUTER GRAPHICS BASED ONGKS Part I gives an introduction to basic concepts of computer graph ics and to the principles and concepts of GKS. The aims of this part are twofold: to provide the beginner with an overview of the terminology and concepts of computer graphics, based on GKS, and to give the computer graphics expert an introduc tion to the GKS standard. In the early chapters of this part, the main areas of computer graphics, the various classes of com puter graphics users, the interfaces of GKS and its underlying design concepts are discussed and important terms are defined. The later chapters give an informal introduction to the main concepts of GKS and their interrelationships: output, attributes, coordinate systems, transformations, input, segments, metafile, state lists, and error handling. This introduction to the GKS framework will prepare the ground for the detailed description of 2D GKS functions in Part III and the 3D extensions to GKS in Part IV. 1 WHAT IS COMPUTER GRAPHICS? 1. 1 Defmition of Computer Graphics The Data Processing Vocabulary of the International Organization for Stan dardization (ISO) [ISO 84] defines Computer Graphics as follows: "Methods and techniques for converting data to and from a graphic display via computer. " This definition refers to three basic components of any computer graphics system - namely "data", "computer", and "display".

Collection - Laboratory - Theater by Helmar Schramm,Ludger Schwarte,Jan Lazardzig Pdf

This volume launches a new, eight-volume series entitled Theatrum Scientiarum on the history of science and the media which has arisen from the work of the Berlin special research project on "Performative Cultures" under the aegis of the Theatre Studies Department of the Free University. The volume examines the role of space in the constitution of knowledge in the early modern age. "Kunstkammern" (art and curiosities cabinets), laboratories and stages arose in the 17th century as instruments of research and representation. There is, however, still a lack of precise descriptions of the epistemic contribution made by material and immaterial space in the performance of knowledge. Therefore, the authors present a novel view of the conditions surrounding the creation of these spatial forms. Account is taken both of the institutional framework of these spaces and their placement within the history of ideas, the architectural models and the modular differentiations, and the scientific consequences of particular design decisions. Manifold paths are followed between the location of the observer in the representational space of science and the organization in time and space of sight, speech and action in the canon of European theatrical forms. Not only is an account given of the mutual architectural and intellectual influence of the spaces of knowledge and the performance spaces of art; they are also analyzed to ascertain what was possible in them and through them. This volume is the English translation of Kunstkammer, Laboratorium, Bühne (de Gruyter, Berlin, 2003).

The Image-Interface by Everardo Reyes-Garcia Pdf

Digital practices are shaped by graphical representations that appear on the computer screen, which is the principal surface for designing, visualizing, and interacting with digital information. Before any digital image or graphical interface is rendered on the screen there is a series of layers that affect its visual properties. To discover such processes it is necessary to investigate software applications, graphical user interfaces, programming languages and code, algorithms, data structures, and data types in their relationship with graphical outcomes and design possibilities. This book studies interfaces as images and images as interfaces. It offers a comprehensible framework to study graphical representations of visual information. It explores the relationship between visual information and its graphical supports, taking into account contributions from fields of visual computing. Graphical supports are considered as material but also as formal aspects underlying the representation of digital images on the digital screen.

All About Computers by Dr. Sylvester Hillard Pdf

Living in a world where just about everything is computerized, and in a time where a thorough knowledge of computers is vital in allowing an individual a chance at getting a good job, a book such as All About Computers: A Guide for Teens and Adults is extremely valuable. There are few books on the market, if any, that teach young folks how computers actually work. This is tragic, in my opinion, considering the fact that our children must compete with the best and the brightest in the global economy for jobs requiring highly-specialized technical skills. For this reason, I have written this book. My book teaches the basics of digital electronics, binary arithmetic, explores computer architecture, low-level and structured computer programming. The beauty of All About Computers: A Guide for Teens and Adults is, the above concepts are broken down to a level that most teens should be able to understand.
