The Humility and Glory of the Lamb by Jeffrey R. Dickson Pdf

Although the Apostle John endorses "Lamb" twenty-nine times in his Apocalypse and employs a term that is used only one other time in the New Testament to this end, this unique title and its sophisticated christological implications has only received cursory attention both historically and more recently. Even then, incomplete/monochromatic interpretations of the unique verbiage John employs to describe Christ are reached. After identifying this clearing that exists in the christological forest, this book reaches a robust understanding of Revelation's Lamb by means of a contextual-grammatical-canonical-historical hermeneutic. Ultimately, this monograph concludes that the apostle's use of Lamb throughout his Apocalypse promotes a multifaceted christological presentation of John's protagonist that is dependent on the paradoxical theme of glory in humility--a theme that is introduced when the Lamb first emerges in Revelation 5 and is then reiterated every time the title is used thereafter. In so doing, this work offers students and scholars alike a better understanding of who is coming in the end and what this means for the church at present.

Humility by Andrew Murray Pdf

Is humility a Christlike attribute that should be pursued? And even if it should be, can genuine humility actually be attained? Often so practical in application that it is overlooked, the answer is found by studying the life and words of Christ (whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your slave). This little book is a loud call to all committed Christians to prove that meekness and lowliness of heart is the evidence by which those who follow the meek and lowly Lamb of God are to be known. Never mind that your initial efforts will be misunderstood, taken advantage of, or even resisted. Instead, learn from the One who came not to be ministered unto, but to serve. For a Christian to be alive, for the life of Christ to reign in and through us, we must be empty of ourselves, exchanging our life for His life, our pride for true, Christlike humility.

The Humility of Being Found by Kevin Cain Pdf

The need to be rescued is somewhat about personal incompleteness and mostly about God, who desires to have loving communion with creation. Spiritual rescue follows a simple pattern: Messiah is lovingly sent to rescue; each has a tendency to fight against the Rescuer; personal humility is a statement of faithful surrender and the key to being found; the greatest journey of rescue is Jesus Messiah’s upper room to empty tomb victory over sin and death; now rescued, the individual’s only responsibility is to bear the Christ Who bears our wounds. Such is the journey to rescue. In The Humility of Being Found: A Journey To Rescue, Kevin B. Cain writes, “Please acknowledge deep within every soul there is division from and longing for communion with the One larger than ourselves and with brothers and sisters in the struggle of life. Every division requires rescue, and the eternal estrangement of people from the God Who loves them necessitates the greatest of rescues. And, so, whether we realize or not, each of us sets out on a journey to discover rescue. Thousands of years ago, Messiah did the same. God descended into a journey, not to be rescued, but to offer rescue. The apostle, Paul, says Messiah’s journey to rescue each of us can be summed up in three words: death, burial, and resurrection. Whether the individual’s journey to be rescued is active or passive, Jesus’ journey of death, burial, and resurrection has brought rescue to all. You are now being invited to enter thirty-six hours from my personal journal. In the pages that follow, you will read my chronicling of Jesus’ Upper Room to empty-tomb journey of rescue and my attempt, through vigil, to journey alongside creation’s Rescuer. In the written testimony of my journey to be rescued and my stumbling over the Messianic leaf of God’s rescue that follows, perhaps you too will stumble, welcome rescue, and rise.”

Seeing and savouring Jesus Christ by JOHN PIPER Pdf

Who is Jesus Christ? You've never met Him in person, and you don't know anyone who has. But there is a way to know who he is. How? Jesus Christ - the divine Person revealed in the Bible - has a unique excellence and a spiritual beauty that speaks directly to our souls and says, "Yes, this is truth." It's like seeing the sun and knowing that it is light, or tasting honey and knowing that it is sweet. The depth and complexity of Jesus shatter our simple mental frameworks. He baffled proud scribes with his wisdom but was understood and loved by children. He calmed a raging storm with a word but would not get himself down from the cross. Look at the Jesus of the Bible. Keep your eyes open, and fill them with the portrait of Jesus in God's Word. Jesus said, "If anyone's will is to do God's will, He will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own authority." Ask God for the grace to do His will, and you will see the truth of His Son. John Piper has written this book in the hope that all will see Jesus for who he really is and will come to enjoy him above all else.

THE LAMB OF GOD by Praise O Glory Pdf

The Lamb of God represents Jesus slain for us on the cross. Jesus’ death redeemed the dominion lost by Adam. Through his death and resurrection, the believers on Earth will rule and reign in such a way that they will become praise on Earth. The seven horns on the Lamb of God are emblems of all power given to Christians. We could be creative in our approach to warfare with these horns of the devil, which scatter anything that brings praise to God. You have to acknowledge and understand unsearchable riches we have in Christ. The tough times must be viewed as times that can lead us to our God-given purpose in life, instead of backing away from the battle of our destiny. You were born for a cause; understand this, stand, and uphold your cause. This is the only way you can be fulfilled in life. God is waiting for a generational army that will rise up in power and save nations. You are called personally to walk with God in that army. The key is understanding the victory of Jesus for you. In The Lamb of God, Praise O. Glory shares her personal experience and thoughts with you. Praise’s book may encourage you to understand how your “deep darkened valley” can be miraculously turned into a “striking well of springs of refreshing water” as you learn to see things from God’s heavenly perspective by walking with the Holy Spirit.

Humility by Andrew Murray Pdf

The deepest humility is the secret of the truest happiness, of a joy that nothing can destroy. Andrew Murray People of great ability, confidence, and power are also people of great accomplishment. They have every right to be proud. Or do they? Andrew Murray poses the question, and God provides the answer. Murray was a strong, capable man who was so in control that he tried to stop a revival in his church in South Africa for which his father had prayed for 60 years. But he soon discovered that power isnt rooted in pride. In truth, he learned that pride goes before destruction. God taught Murray the ways and rewards of humility, and its relationship to faith, holiness, happiness, peace, and exaltation. He shares the lessons he learned the hard way. Cleverly organized, easy to read, easy to understand, and deeply profound, this classic has been acclaimed as the greatest book ever written on the subject of humility.

The Way of the Dragon or the Way of the Lamb by Jamin Goggin,Kyle Strobel Pdf

Pastor Jamin Goggin and theology professor Kyle Strobel invite you on a journey to uncover Jesus’ seemingly contradictory way to power: weakness. Why do so many rock-star pastors implode under the spotlight? How have so many Christian leaders and institutions been lured by toxic and abusive power? Why are so many Christians tempted to chase worldly success and status? Because, according to Jamin Goggin and Kyle Strobel, rather than seeking kingdom power embodied by Jesus, we have embraced a form of power that is antithetical to the cross. In The Way of the Dragon or the Way of the Lamb, Goggin and Strobel paint a richly biblical vision of power through weakness. This revised and updated edition features a brand-new chapter for those who’ve been impacted by toxic and abusive power. Join the authors on a journey to gather wisdom from great sages of the faith such as J. I. Packer, Dallas Willard, Marva Dawn, John Perkins, James Houston, and Eugene Peterson. Listen in on their conversations to rediscover the wisdom of the cross and the power that truly sets us free.

HUMILITY - The Journey Toward Holiness by Andrew Murray Pdf

Humility: The Journey Toward Holiness is a religious treatise written by South African teacher and Christian pastor Andrew Murray. It tells about why being prideful is terrible when we are Christians. It talks about the relationships between humility and holiness, sin, faith, death to self, happiness and exaltation. According to Murray, humility is the virtue that enables us to be most like Christ and being that, it is the attribute that most Christians need but that most don't want. True humility involves dying to self and letting Christ live in you. Murray claims that death to self enables one to be true self because as we become less, we actually become more as Christ dwells in us in His fullness. He also gives some wonderful examples about how Jesus displayed humility, as well as the examples of humility and lack of humility of his 12 disciples. The book contains many important lessons about being humble before God, but most importantly being humble in our everyday life among others. "Lord, Teach Us to Pray" is a treatise on prayer loaded with timeless lessons on prayer and can be looked a devotional meditation on the nature of prayer.
