The Impulse Factor by Nick Tasler Pdf

Some people can take risks - move abroad, switch careers, and give up everything to chase their dreams - with hardly a second thought. For others, looking before they leap is vital to making even simple decisions. In his first book, Nick Tasler, research and development director for cutting-edge think tank TalentSmart, turns conventional wisdom on its head by explaining that there are actually two factors that determine whether an individual will be impulsive or cautious. The first is genetic, and the second is Tasler's theory of Conditional Impulsivity, in which the gravity of a particular situation can trigger unusually risky responses from a cautious person. More than just a book, The Impulse Factorprovides a clear understanding of why we make the choices we do - and the tools to turn those decisions into something great.

Impulse Factor by Nick Tasler Pdf

"Impulse Factor is a collection of gripping, true accounts about the choices people make and why they make them. At its heart lies the authors research on decision making, which taps into the two essential elements of every decision ever made. The first element makes clear peoples innate tendencies to either chase dreams to the ends of the earth and beyond, or to stay securely at home - often at their own peril. Act Two lays out the phenomenon called Conditional Impulsivity, in which particular situations influence whether or not each person looks before they leap."--Provided by publisher.

Factors influencing the impulse buying behaviour of apparel consumers by Samkhyan Malliyoor Mana Pdf

Master's Thesis from the year 2009 in the subject Business economics - Marketing, Corporate Communication, CRM, Market Research, Social Media, grade: Pass, , course: MBA - Consumer Behaviour, language: English, abstract: Consumer behaviour is always a very interesting and complex subject for all marketers and retailers. This study is also about a part of this complex subject- Impulse Buying behaviour found among Apparel Buyers and the influence of special prices and other factors on it. The study dealt with a very important topic in the modern fierce competition scenario, because impulse buying tendency spread all over the world and it is no more crazy habits of Americans. The income from impulse purchases phenomenally increasing every year and that’s why the subject getting more and more importance these days. The tendency is more intense as far as apparel purchases are concerned. Here the author did an effort to understand the causes and factors for impulse buying in apparels. Commonly special price is considered to be the most influential factor of impulse purchases. This study was comparative study between the influence of special prices and other variables. The methodology used for primary data collection was a combination of a questionnaire survey and a personal interview after that, with the customers of a leading retailer store for apparels in London. About 60 customers were surveyed. The result was pretty interesting, the variables studied in the research found to be more or less equal influential on customers though special prices top the list with a very little margin. The study concluded that most of the impulse purchases happen due to a combined influence of various factors. The impulse generated when a customer see an in- store display indicating a special price of a product can be taken as an example. So, for marketers, in order to make good results in impulse purchases they should coordinate various variables in an effective way, instead of concentrating only on a particular factor. The small size of sample and uncontrollable condition of current world economic condition could be taken as limitations for this study; otherwise the study was pretty general and standard in nature and was very useful and informative for practical applications.

Condition Monitoring with Vibration Signals by Hosameldin Ahmed,Asoke K. Nandi Pdf

Provides an extensive, up-to-date treatment of techniques used for machine condition monitoring Clear and concise throughout, this accessible book is the first to be wholly devoted to the field of condition monitoring for rotating machines using vibration signals. It covers various feature extraction, feature selection, and classification methods as well as their applications to machine vibration datasets. It also presents new methods including machine learning and compressive sampling, which help to improve safety, reliability, and performance. Condition Monitoring with Vibration Signals: Compressive Sampling and Learning Algorithms for Rotating Machines starts by introducing readers to Vibration Analysis Techniques and Machine Condition Monitoring (MCM). It then offers readers sections covering: Rotating Machine Condition Monitoring using Learning Algorithms; Classification Algorithms; and New Fault Diagnosis Frameworks designed for MCM. Readers will learn signal processing in the time-frequency domain, methods for linear subspace learning, and the basic principles of the learning method Artificial Neural Network (ANN). They will also discover recent trends of deep learning in the field of machine condition monitoring, new feature learning frameworks based on compressive sampling, subspace learning techniques for machine condition monitoring, and much more. Covers the fundamental as well as the state-of-the-art approaches to machine condition monitoringguiding readers from the basics of rotating machines to the generation of knowledge using vibration signals Provides new methods, including machine learning and compressive sampling, which offer significant improvements in accuracy with reduced computational costs Features learning algorithms that can be used for fault diagnosis and prognosis Includes previously and recently developed dimensionality reduction techniques and classification algorithms Condition Monitoring with Vibration Signals: Compressive Sampling and Learning Algorithms for Rotating Machines is an excellent book for research students, postgraduate students, industrial practitioners, and researchers.
