Seven Doors for Charlotte by Barbara Gail Barker Pdf

Seven Doors for Charlotte is a work of fiction, and the subject matter surrounding this book becomes entirely apparent to those who read it. The events, which occur throughout the book, takes place in a self-willed town just outside Lake Charles, Louisiana. The name of this little town is Twin Rivers, Louisiana. These events are of catastrophic magnitudes. Remember, this isnt a real story. Please dont perceive this story and its contents to be true. Charlotte must, however, overcome numerous obstacles within the house, which will eventually start changing the unique characteristics about her. Charlottes grandma, Irene, raised Charlotte from a very early age. Charlotte was six months old when her parents died. Irene cherished Charlotte up until the day of her mortality. Charlotte is now eighteen years old. Shes bright, brilliant, and beautiful, but shes also turning into something else. By reading this book, youll have to make those assumptions on your own. After her grandma, Irene, passes away, Charlotte now feels all alone and has no one else to call family. She has to remember every aspect of her life growing up while under the supervision of her grandma. There is a sufficient volume of memories that are blurry to her, but Charlotte is determined to remember regardless of how foggy they are. She has to use every available resource to her to discover the meaning of them. Shes now forced to deal with the loneliness, which is going to be arduous for her. Charlotte has never been in this type of disarray before. She has numerous friends that she attends school with at Herbert High School, and they adore her and trust her with their whole hearts. They each begin noticing to some degree that Charlotte is evolving into a monster unlike anything they have ever seen. They one by one start to abandon her. Her heart becomes broken into tiny little bits, and possibly beyond repair. They, at first, will attempt to do everything humanly and spiritually possible to eradicate the evilness coursing throughout her veins. Theyll soon encounter these beings living in the house and upon the land. The girl they all love finds loneliness isnt an option anymore. Charlotte has instructed her new family never to bring about any harm to her friends, or they would be sorry. At some point, shell have to make the ultimate decision to prohibit them from departing from her land. Charlotte loves them genuinely and only hopes theyll join with her and her new family and become a small army to wipe out the wicked, but Charlotte can make that determination for herself. She gives them money, gifts, sexual mates, drugs, and above all, her loyalty to them as well as their devotion to her, and her new family. Its going to be very challenging for Charlotte. Her friends stand firm and are stronger than she ever thought, and when they come together as one, she realizes their bond to one another is powerful, and they begin fighting for their freedom. While reading this book, youll discover Charlotte starts to unleash her new friends who are loyal to her and her alone. She will also uncover a dark secret about her mother, and she is devastated by it. I promise to be brief regarding the introduction of this book so you can start taking your own personal journey to the place we call hell.

The Keys to Jericho by Ren Alexander Pdf

I thought she was The One. But she was the one who broke me. In high school, I wanted Katriona Merrick more than my next breath. I dropped hints and flirted like hell with her, but she never took the bait. So, I waited. And waited… Graduating a year ahead of her, my resentful goodbye, paired with her oblivious farewell, crushed me. How could I be so wrong about her? She tossed me aside without a second thought, making me swear off so-called love forever. Yet, the emptiness and heartbreak have haunted my every second. And every one-night stand. Flash forward a decade to my temporary return to my hometown. Running into her was a pipedream wrapped into my worst nightmare. When she blindsides me in an unexpected place sporting a changed appearance, bitterness wars with hope. But as an engineer, I’m an expert at building walls of all kinds, and I refuse to be her victim again. Before I move to Philadelphia for my new job, a huge part of me wants Kat to suffer the pain she’s inflicted on me all these years. Still, when her past accident rules her present, I offer to help her learn how to drive, with a side goal of finally nailing her. It’s a win-win until she reveals the truth about what I thought was reality. Though her ditching me created this broken, vengeful, and unfeeling monster, I think I’m the one getting schooled. And another broken heart. The Keys to Jericho was chosen as an Official Selection in the Romance category of Apple Literary’s 2017 Annual Book Awards. Breaching Jericho's Walls by Allen B. Ballard Pdf

A rich narrative recounting the life story of award-winning African American historian and novelist Allen B. Ballard, Breaching Jericho's Walls takes its readers on an exciting journey from a segregated Philadelphia community in the 1930s to mid-century Paris, Moscow, Cambridge, and Manhattan. The author reflects on his own pioneering role as he expands his horizons, as one of the first African American students at Ohio's Kenyon College, studying abroad in France and sharing a café table with Richard Wright and James Baldwin, serving in the military in the American South and attending graduate school at Harvard University. Becoming one of the nation's first black Russian specialists, Ballard studies in post-Stalinist Russia for a year, where, among other adventures, he spends a month with Michael Gorbachev and his wife, Raisa, on a Soviet farm. Though he tells his own personal story within Breaching Jericho's Walls, Ballard also portrays the experiences of those northern African-Americans whose generations bridged the gap from the legacy of slavery to the breakdown of the segregated system in the 1950s and 1960s while revealing the crucial role that individuals like civil rights leader Paul Robeson, Olympic athletes Jesse Owens and Long John Woodruff, and scholar Alain Locke played in inspiring the hopes of an oppressed and downtrodden race. A memoir filled with entertaining anecdotes and insightful reflection, Breaching Jericho's Walls offers Ballard's compelling personal story and reveals how, brick by brick, African Americans built the road that led to the election of President Obama in 2008.

And The Walls Came Tumbling Down by Debbie McGowan Pdf

"This is the natural order of things: for each decision we make, there is an infinite number of possible outcomes, only one of which comes into being. It is an infallible truth; our future is born, singular. But for you, that is no longer the case." Jack Davies led an unremarkable life, serving fast food in a nondescript seaside town by day and playing computer games by night. Unremarkable that is, until Professor Jericho ordered a sausage and a cup of tea. After discovering he has the ability to move through time and space, Jack embarks on a journey to repair a tear in the fabric of reality, with only his high school stalker, a television news crew and a crossword puzzle for help. With every moment of indecision, the problem gets more complex. And Jack never could make up his mind.

The New Testament by Jericho Brown Pdf

Honored as a "Best Book of 2014" by Library Journal NPR.org writes: “In his second collection, The New Testament, Brown treats disease and love and lust between men, with a gentle touch, returning again and again to the stories of the Bible, which confirm or dispute his vision of real life. 'Every last word is contagious,' he writes, awake to all the implications of that phrase. There is plenty of guilt—survivor’s guilt, sinner’s guilt—and ever-present death, but also the joy of survival and sin. And not everyone has the chutzpah to rewrite The Good Book.”—NPR.org "Erotic and grief-stricken, ministerial and playful, Brown offers his reader a journey unlike any other in contemporary poetry."—Rain Taxi "To read Jericho Brown's poems is to encounter devastating genius."—Claudia Rankine In the world of Jericho Brown's second book, disease runs through the body, violence runs through the neighborhood, memories run through the mind, trauma runs through generations. Almost eerily quiet in even the bluntest of poems, Brown gives us the ache of a throat that has yet to say the hardest thing—and the truth is coming on fast. Fairy Tale Say the shame I see inching like steam Along the streets will never seep Beneath the doors of this bedroom, And if it does, if we dare to breathe, Tell me that though the world ends us, Lover, it cannot end our love Of narrative. Don’t you have a story For me?—like the one you tell With fingers over my lips to keep me From sighing when—before the queen Is kidnapped—the prince bows To the enemy, handing over the horn Of his favorite unicorn like those men Brought, bought, and whipped until They accepted their masters’ names. Jericho Brown worked as the speechwriter for the mayor of New Orleans before earning his PhD in creative writing and literature from the University of Houston. His first book, PLEASE (New Issues), won the American Book Award. He currently teaches at Emory University and lives in Atlanta, Georgia.
