Uday Shankar and His Transcultural Experimentations by Urmimala Sarkar Munsi Pdf

This monograph presents a specific experience of modernity within the context of Indian dance by looking at the transcultural journey of Indian dancer / choreographer Uday Shankar (1900b – 1977d). His popularity in Europe and America as an Oriental male dancer in the first half of the 20th century, and his worldwide recognition as the Ambassador of Indian culture, are brought into a historiographical perspective within the cultural and social reforms of early twentieth century India. By exploring his artistic journey beyond India in the period between the two world wars, and his experience of dance making, presentational technique and representation of India through various phases of his life, a path is forged to understanding the emergence of modernity in Indian dance.

Purana Riddles by Premyogi vajra Pdf

In olden times, physical science was beyond the understanding of common people, then how could they understand the subtle and transcendental science like Kundalini Yoga. That's why the knowledge of Kundalini Yoga was known only to a few selected people of the affluent class. They wanted the common people also to attain it, because only human beings have the right to spiritual liberation. But they were not successful in explaining Kundalini Yoga to them directly. That's why they molded Kundalini Yoga in the form of allegorical and mythological stories, so that people would read them with interest, due to this, gradually, they got inclined towards Kundalini Yoga. The collections of those stories became the Puranas. By reading those Puranas Kundalini started developing inside people unknowingly. This made them happy, due to which they got addicted to Puranas. People's attraction towards such ancient texts since then till today's modern age seems to be due to this Kundalini-Anand. The one whose mind was sharp among the people who read and listened to Puranas, he used to wake up his Kundalini quickly by catching Kundalini Yoga. In this way, Puranas have been doing immense service to humanity since ancient times. Similarly, in the olden days, mystical teachings were not directly revealed to public. That's why they have been explained in the form of metaphor, that's why many such vidyas are also called Guhya vidyas. Therefore, through allegorical stories, Tantra would have been indirectly put into the subconscious mind of the people, and would have been hoped that in the future it would be decoded and deserving people would benefit from it. The treasure was secured in a sort of secret cave, leaving the map of the cave of knowledge as a labyrinthine puzzle in the form of an allegory. Mythical investigative campaigns shown in films are psychological attempts to express this mysterious mechanism. That's why such movies are very popular. Metaphors give materiality, simplicity, interestingness, sociability and scientificity to spiritual subjects. Without it, spirituality would have been very boring. Many people oppose metaphors with a variety of quirks. It is considered conservatism, fanciful imagination etc. Of course it may seem so in today's scientific age, but in ancient times, metaphors have benefited mankind a lot. If in place of Shiva it is said to be formless Brahman, then it would be so boring. Where is that sweetness in the word brain and Sahasrar, which is obtained by writing Himalaya Mountain and Kailash Mountain in their places respectively? Similarly, the word Kundalini also does not sound as interesting as Mother Parvati or Sita appears in its place. Nevertheless, for the acceptance of today's so-called modern and intelligent society, reality has to be written while revealing the spiritual metaphor. Metaphors cannot replace scientific truth. Metaphors have no mathematics of their own. Metaphors are made only to explain the truth, which are based on scientific phenomena. It means to say that a metaphysical phenomenon became a metaphor, not that a metaphysical phenomenon happened out of a fabricated metaphor. The sages who create such good metaphors cannot be forest dwellers, as is the misconception in many places. They were the most elaborate and fabricated people in worldliness. There are many beautiful allegorical stories in the Puranas. The art of depicting different parts of the mind as different persons is of great importance in allegorical narratives. All Puranas seem to describe Kundalini Yoga in a mythological and metaphorical way. I think that while telling the story, along with the original story, the mystery of the metaphor given in it should also be decoded. Listeners will get more benefit from this. Although some people more propelled by nonlogical right brain like pure metaphor. It is the matter of liking. If we talk about the minor damage inflicted by unrevealed metaphor, it would have been that people would not have come to know what metaphor is and what is real. The present book is made in this context, which analyzes the metaphors of Puranas scientifically and logically. While not writing much, I pause with the hope that the present book will come true to the aspirations of the Yoga-loving and spirituality-loving readers.

Kundalini science by Premyogi vajra Pdf

This book is fourth part (book-4) of the Kundalini science series. Its first part, second part (book-2), and third part (book-3) are also available. It is the compiled form of blog-posts. Those posts are written by Premyogi vajra, a mystic yogi. He is enlightened as well as he has his kundalini awakened. These all posts are related to kundalini. One post corresponds to one chapter. Premyogi vajra is writing about Kundalini since 4 years ago, when his kundalini awakened after one year long continued kundalini yoga meditation. He became amazed on seeing that nowhere Kundalini had been mentioned or described completely. Even Kundalini had not been defined properly. He searched and read many kundalini awakening experiences, but he found none as genuine and complete. Although he found Samadhi as mentioned in Patanjali Yoga Sutras as equivalent to Kundalini, but that was described in a mystic and ancient way that was difficult to be understood by the laymen type general public. Therefore inspired by these shortcomings, he decided to present every know-how about kundalini in very simple or childish way keeping everything at ground level, true, experiential, scientific, original, practical and intuitive. That genuine, honest and humane effort resulted into the origination of this wonderful book. That is why this book appears as a blessing for kundalini seekers. Because it is not comfortable to read so many blog posts together on glare producing screens, therefore those posts were presented in the form of a kindle e-book that is comfortable and enjoying to read. As a result, it is fully hoped that readers will find this book spiritually uplifting and comfortable to read. Premayogi Vajra was born in the year 1975 in a small village in the beautiful basket valley of Himachal Pradesh, India. He is naturally fond of writing, philosophy, spirituality, yoga, public service, applied science and tourism. He has also done commendable work in the field of animal husbandry and veterinary medicine. He is also fond of polyhouse farming, organic farming, scientific and water conserving irrigation, rainwater harvesting, kitchen gardening, cow farming, vermicomposting, website development, self-publishing, music (especially flute playing) and singing. He has also written close to ten books on almost all these subjects, whose descriptions are available on Amazone Author Central, Author Page, Premyogi vajra. The description of these books is also available on his personal website demystifyingkundalini.com. He had also been a Vedic priest for a short period of time, when he performed religious rituals in people's homes with the help of his Vedic priestly grandfather. He has gained some advanced spiritual experiences (enlightenment and Kundalini awakening). His autobiography, along with his unique experiences, is particularly shared in the book "Physiology Philosophy - A Modern Kundalini Tantra (A Yogi's Love Story)" written in Hindi. The matching equivalent of this book in English is “Love story of a Yogi- what Patanjali says”. This book is the most prominent and ambitious book of his life. This book contains the most important 25 years of his life’s philosophy. He has worked very hard for this book. In a quality and unbiased review on Amazon.com, this book has been reviewed as a five-star, best, must-read and excellent book. Google Play Book Review also found five stars for this book, and this book was rated as good (cool). Premyogi vajra is a mysterious person. He is like a polymorphic man, who has no fixed form of his own. His actual form depends on the size and type of the trance/Samadhi that he is continuously experiencing in his mind, no matter what he looks like from outside. He is enlightened (self realized), and his Kundalini has also awakened. He had self realization or enlightenment naturally / through love yoga, and Kundalini awakening through artificial means / Kundalini yoga. At the time of natural samadhi, he was assisted by symbolic and uni-vehicular Tantra yoga, while at the time of artificial trance/Samadhi he got the help of complete and bi-vehicular Tantra yoga along with the majority of his own efforts. Hinduism in Middle India by Lavanya Vemsani Pdf

Narasimha is one of the least studied major deities of Hinduism. Furthermore, there are limited studies of the history, thought, and literature of middle India. Lavanya Vemsani redresses this by exploring a range of primary sources, including classical Sanskrit texts (puranas and epics), and regional accounts (sthalapuranas), which include texts, artistic compositions, and oral folk stories in the regional languages of Telugu, Oriya, and Kannada. She also examines the historical context as well as contemporary practice. Moving beyond the stereotypical classifications applied to sources of Hinduism, this unique study dedicates chapters to each region of middle India bringing together literary, religious, and cultural practices to comprehensively understand the religion of Middle India (Madhya Desha). Incorporating lived religion and textual data, this book offers a rich contribution to Hindu studies and Indian studies in general, and Vaishnava Studies and regional Hinduism in particular.

The E.T. Chronicles by Rita Louise,Wayne Laliberté Pdf

The E.T. Chronicles is a startling and comprehensive examination of ancient myths and legends that describe extraterrestrial visitors and their encounters with humanity since the dawn of time. Organized into a chronology that starts with "in the beginning" and ends with the advent of civilization, it brings together myths from many cultures (including the Sumerians, the Greek, the Maya and the Aborigines of Australia) and explores them in the context of current scientific discoveries. The result is a mind-blowing re-visioning of human origins through close reading of ancient texts relating to: • creation• gods and goddesses• heaven• the gods and their toys (space ships or chariots?)• the quest for immortality Could it be that those ancient stories of the gods were more than just the product of someone's fanciful imagination? Is it possible that the writers, chroniclers, and scribes of our distant past actually record an accurate view of our origin? Could it be that we are really children of the stars?

The Rise of the Devas by Alok Agrawal,Mayank Agrawal Pdf

Thousands of years ago, various streams of Suras travelled to the west from their land of origin in the foothills of the Himalayas, expanding their footprint from present day india to west Asia. New civilisations flourished, and new land routes were established. As rulers of the world, the Suras assumed the title of the Devas, or the gods. With time, the Suras broke up into two groups. Those not agreeing with the strict life principles of the Suras separated, and assumed the label, the Asuras. They were mostly at loggerheads with the Suras, but came together to discover the sea routes in an expedition known as Samudra-Manthan. The journey revealed an amazing world of mysteries. But quarrels broke out for the possession of a wonder plant called Soma. THE RISE OF THE DEVAS is a concept novel that treats ancient legends from a different perspective.
