Excerpt from The Last Chronicle of Barset, Vol. 1 of 2 I don't see that that has anything to do with it. And as he now Spoke, John did take his eyes off his book. Why should not a clergyman turn thief as well as anybody else You girls always seem to forget that clergymen are only men after all. Their conduct is likely to be better than that of other men, I think. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. This book is a result of an effort made by us towards making a contribution to the preservation and repair of original classic literature. In an attempt to preserve, improve and recreate the original content, we have worked towards: 1. Type-setting & Reformatting: The complete work has been re-designed via professional layout, formatting and type-setting tools to re-create the same edition with rich typography, graphics, high quality images, and table elements, giving our readers the feel of holding a 'fresh and newly' reprinted and/or revised edition, as opposed to other scanned & printed (Optical Character Recognition - OCR) reproductions. 2. Correction of imperfections: As the work was re-created from the scratch, therefore, it was vetted to rectify certain conventional norms with regard to typographical mistakes, hyphenations, punctuations, blurred images, missing content/pages, and/or other related subject matters, upon our consideration. Every attempt was made to rectify the imperfections related to omitted constructs in the original edition via other references. However, a few of such imperfections which could not be rectified due to intentional\unintentional omission of content in the original edition, were inherited and preserved from the original work to maintain the authenticity and construct, relevant to the work. We believe that this work holds historical, cultural and/or intellectual importance in the literary works community, therefore despite the oddities, we accounted the work for print as a part of our continuing effort towards preservation of literary work and our contribution towards the development of the society as a whole, driven by our beliefs. We are grateful to our readers for putting their faith in us and accepting our imperfections with regard to preservation of the historical content. HAPPY READING!

The Last Chronicle of Barset, Vol. 3 (Classic Reprint) by Anthony Trollope Pdf

Excerpt from The Last Chronicle of Barset, Vol. 3 He himself was contented, - so he told himself, - to die as he had lived in a country parsonage, working with the collar round his neck up to the day of his death, if God would allow him so to do. He was ambitious of no grandeur for himself. So he would tell himself, being partly oblivious of certain episodes in his own life. All his wealth had been got together for his children. He desired that his sons should be fitting brothers for their august sister. And now the son who was nearest to him, whom he was bent upon making a squire in his own county, wanted to marry the daughter of a man who had stolen twenty pounds, and when objection was made to so discreditable a connection, replied by packing up all his things and saying that he would go and live - at Fan! The archdeacon there fore did not like to hear of his son being busy at home. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. A Chronicle of the Fermors, Vol. 1 of 2 by Matthew Stradling Pdf

Excerpt from A Chronicle of the Fermors, Vol. 1 of 2: Horace Walpole in Love Not that she was a bad, or an unscrupulous woman she was only a clever and a very business like one. She perceived that it was sometimes necessary to lay principles aside for a season, when they happened to come awkwardly in the way Of more important things; but otherwise she had, on principle, a profound respect for principles. She would not, for instance, commit herself by telling the smallest untruth if it could be avoided; but if a triļ¬‚ing falsehood stood in the way of an impor tant end or aim, a place about the Court say, or the favour Of a royal personage, then she was open to temptation. It is true that she had compro mised herself by some positively questionable acts. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Last of the Barons, Vol. 1 of 2 (Classic Reprint) by Edward Bulwer Lytton Pdf

Excerpt from Last of the Barons, Vol. 1 of 2 "The Earl of Warwick, commonly known, from the subsequent events, by the appellation of the King-maker, had distinguished himself by his gallantry in the field, by the hospitality of his table, by the magnificence. and still more by the generosity, of his expense, and by the spirited and hold manner which attended him in all his actions. The undesigning frankness and openness of his character rendered his conquest over men's affections the more certain and infallible; his presents were regarded as sure testimonies of esteem and friendship; and his professions as the overflowings of his genuine sentiments. No less than thirty thousand persons are said to have daily lived at his board in the different manors and castles which he possessed in England; the military men, allured by his munificence and hospitality, as well as by his bravery, were zealously attached to his interests; the people in general bore him an unlimited affection; his numerous retainers were more devoted to his will, than to the prince or to the laws; and he was the greatest, as well as the last, of those mighty barons, who formerly over-awed the Crown." - Hume.
