The Ministry of the Missional Church by Craig Van Gelder Pdf

In a time when churches are focusing on finding strategies and techniques to guarantee success, a movement toward the missional church is emerging. Missional churches are communities created by the Spirit with a unique nature and identity. Purpose and strategies of the church are derivative dimensions, the activities that flow naturally from the church that is focused on Spirit-led ministry. The Ministry of the Missional Church leads pastors, ministry leaders, and laypersons through three simple arguments--the church is; the church does what it is; the church organizes what it does--in order to make sense of how missional churches work. And by focusing the work of the church as the work of the Triune God, this unique book will change the way readers think about the church and the world.

Four Views of Youth Ministry and the Church by Wesley Black,Chap Clark,Malan Nel Pdf

Join the conversation as experts propose, defend, and explore Four Views of Youth Ministry and the Church. In a dialog that often gets downright feisty, four youth ministry academicians delineate their distinct philosophical and ecclesiological views regarding how youth ministry relates to the church at large--and leave a taste of what’s profound and what’s not in these four typologies:Inclusive congregational (Malan Nel). What happens when a church thoroughly integrates its adolescents, making them full partners in every aspect of congregational life?Preparatory (Wesley Black). Why and how should a church consider its teenagers as disciples-in-training and its youth ministry a school of preparation for future participation in church life?Missional (Chap Clark). What does a church look like, whose youth ministry does not necessarily nurture "church kids" but is essentially evangelistic? Whose youths and youth workers are considered missionaries?Strategic (Mark Senter). How feasible is it for a youth ministry to become a new church on its own--the youth pastor becoming the pastor, and the new church planted with the blessing of the mother church? In Four View of Your Ministry and the Church, solid academic writing and an inviting tone and design create a compelling text for both in-the-field, practicing youth workers and undergraduates and graduate students.

The Gifts of the Small Church by Dr. Jason Byassee Pdf

Dizzying changes have taken place in American religious life in the last half century. Yet in spite of that fact, taking a snapshot of a “typical” Christian church in America would reveal a surprising number of small-to-mid-sized congregations, rooted in a local neighborhood or community, tied to a specific denomination, where most of the members know each others’ names, and hence are blessed (and cursed) with being the church together. In this clear-eyed, humorous appraisal, Jason Byassee contends that the “church around the corner” occupies a particular place in the divine economy, that it is especially capable of forming us in the virtues, perspectives, and habits that make up the Christian life. Not that he romanticizes these churches, however. Having been a rural, small membership church pastor, Byassee knows too well the particular vices and temptations to which they are subject. But he also knows the particular graces they’ve been given, graces like the “prayer ladies,” those pillars of the congregation who, “when one told you she was praying for you it meant something. When one hugged you, you remembered all week. When one cooked for you the casserole tasted like love. And when you were around them you were in the presence of Jesus.” Anyone who serves, or belongs to, a “church around the corner” will find their ministry strengthened by this enlivening, inspiring book.

Rediscover Church by Collin Hansen,Jonathan Leeman Pdf

"A Christian without a church is a Christian in trouble." Since a global pandemic abruptly closed places of worship, many Christians have skipped church life, even neglecting virtual services. But this was a trend even before COVID-19. Polarizing issues, including political and racial strife, convinced some people to pull away from the church and one another. Now it's time to recommit to gathering as brothers and sisters in Christ. In Rediscover Church, Collin Hansen and Jonathan Leeman discuss why church is essential for believers and God's mission. Through biblical references and personal stories, they show readers God's true intention for corporate gathering: to spiritually strengthen members as individuals and the body of Christ. In an age of church-shopping and livestreamed services, rediscover why the future of the church relies on believers gathering regularly as the family of God. Published in partnership with the Gospel Coalition and 9Marks.

Great results have already been seen from individuals who respect Gods Word and value what it can bring to the Board room as well as to the church service. You will not be sorry you invested in this training for you and your ministry team. Rev. Lloyd Tremain, Paradise Community Church of the Nazarene A thorough, practical and much needed Biblically sound treatment. Wish it had been available 20 years ago when I could have use it to a great positive effect Dan Wilderman, Retired Assemblies of God Pastor the order and practical instruction presented will benefit all organizational levels of any Christian Church today. John Steffensen, Radio Host, Christ Today KKXX Radio Chico CA Hopefully this manual will lay the groundwork for pastors and churches to spread the burden and get others involved in the work of the ministry. I once had a pastor that was often unprepared for a service because he was busy helping a parishioner with some needed chore, or church maintenance, or the myriad other duties needed to keep a church going. The result was that the church stayed the same size. Some leave; others enter. But no growth was apparent despite the considerable preaching talents of the pastor. God is apparently making sure he has only the amount of people that he can handle. We learn that the ancient church had some of the same challenges we face today. Acts 6:14 says, Now in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplying, there arose a complaint against the Hebrews by the Hellenists, because their widows were neglected in the daily distribution. Then the twelve summoned the multitude of the disciples and said, It is not desirable that we should leave the word of God and serve tables. (Read this as doing manual labor.) Therefore, brethren, seek out from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business; (the manual labor) but we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word. It was even bringing strife to the local body. What did they do? And what was the result? The first thing the apostles did was pick out people they knew to be wise and that had had received the baptism of the Holy Spirit and appointed them to do practical ministerial duties (the manual labor). This freed up the apostles so they could minister the Word of God. Wow, Gods way is so simple, and our grandiose plans just waste time and get nothing done. Pastors need to learn from the apostles and appoint over this business so the pastors has more time to do the spiritual work that promotes Gods church. This manual gives a road map for accomplishing the goal of choosing and training people and tips for managing them.
