The Miracle of Adam by Byron Williams Pdf

What iflike it is said in the Biblewe were supposed to live forever? But Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit, and somehow, our bodies changed, giving us a limited life span. We all know Adam lived 936 years, and as each generation came about, our life span kept getting shorter until we got to the present day, only living to about 75 to 100 years if we were lucky. Science knows that almost every animal on this planet has all the amino acids needed in its liver to constantly make vitamin C to keep them healthy. Some time ago, we lost that ability because we were getting enough vitamin C in our diets, so our liver quit making it. This is just an example of how our bodies once again turned something off, which has become detrimental to our health. But what if somewhere down the line, that switch turned on again, and what if that peculiar switch was our ability to live forever again? This brings me to my story. He was born sometime in the late 1800s. Growing up normal, he didnt realize how special he was until he got a clue while fighting in World War I. A soldier was dying and needing blood to possibly save his life. So he gave his blood to help him. The doctor told the dying soldier that if he lived, he still would not have the use of his right arm again. It was just too damaged. Several days later, the soldier not only regained the use of his right arm but also healed much quicker than any of the doctors thought. They viewed it as a miracle. This disturbed our main character because he felt something was weird about himself. He couldnt put his finger on it, but he knew something was not right. So he kept to himself after the war. One day, he looked in the mirror and noticed something. He knew he was in his forties, but he didnt look a day over twenty. As time went on, he became more protective of disclosing his age and changing his identity to reflect an age much more suitable to his looks. By the end of the Korean War, the government was looking for him, so he changed his identity often and moved around a lot. This brings us to Phoenix, Arizona, where a freak accident brought our hero to his end. And that is where the story begins. Not knowing who our hero is and how he will change the lives of so many people is a miracle in itself, but the stories that follow are just as miraculous as the people who received his organs.

Miracle in the Making by Scott Brown,Sam Carchidi Pdf

Adam Taliaferro had it all: smarts, an easy-going personality, and incomparable athletic ability. None of that seemed to matter, however, on that fateful September day when his father was given startling news: Do not expect your son to walk. Ever. Since that numbing day, Taliaferro, the Penn State freshman cornerback who was paralyzed after he tackled an Ohio State running back, has defied the odds. Before he had spinal-fusion surgery, he made a vow to his mother: "Mom, I'm not going out like this." Three months later, he walked out of a Philadelphia hospital on crutches, determined to complete his amazing recovery, making the name "Adam Taliaferro" synonymous with courage and perseverance.

The Medic by Adam Palmer Pdf

During WWII, a young man from Lynchburg, Virginia was drafted into the Army and sent to the 77th Infantry Division. When he arrived at camp for basic training, he promptly made it known that he was a pacifist and would be unwilling to take a life or even so much as touch a weapon. He did however say that he would be proud to serve his country as a medic, if they would let him. No matter how much pressure the Army applied, the medic was unwilling to compromise his convictions. The other soldiers in his unit came to hate the conscientious objector, going so far as to throw their boots at him while he knelt by his bunk at night to pray. When the men of Company B assaulted "Hacksaw Ridge" on the island of Okinawa, something happened that would change their opinion of the medic forever.

The Mystery and Miracle of New Birth by Uche C Ekeh Pdf

Redemption for all of humanity has been made available to all through one Man—Jesus Christ. Salvation is a free and unmerited gift to man from the throne of grace. Nonetheless, the price of the cross was, indeed, costly. A true relationship with God— through—Jesus Christ involves more than following a "free-style" doctrine. Jesus said, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God" (Jn. 3:3). The immediate goal of being born-again is to see the Kingdom of God. Yet, there is an issue of blindness among believers that must be resolved. It is not enough be saved, join a church, or even to become a missionary, although these are noble things. Undeniably, there is a distinct journey for each individual in Christ, but one thing that applies to all Christians is the need for obedient adherence to the principles in the Scriptures. While some may practice a permissive theology, the true sons and daughters of God ought not to "cherry-pick" through the Scriptures to find what they are willing to apply in their own lives. Reject one part of the Word of God and you must reject it all—or else—embrace it all and live it! The institutional church, with its numerous denominations, has no soul to be transformed, but each believer does. Jesus died to save individual believers not denominational entities. God adopts common individuals and they become His unique sons and daughters. The Mystery and Miracle of New Birth is for believers who desire to know and practice sound biblical doctrine—because doctrine matters.

The Miracle of Man by Jim Howard Pdf

What Is a Man? Biologically, we are animals--homo sapiens. But men are different, born with consciousness, reason, free will, notions of morality, and other characteristics of what we call "human nature." Why are we different? Were we created by God or are we just accidents of nature? Are you a child of the King or just a child of King Kong? This is a book of apologetics for laypeople. It looks at arguments for the existence of God and especially at those arguments that can be drawn from human nature. It argues in plain language, with illustrations and humor, that we cannot explain human nature without God, that men are miracles.

The Apocryphal Adam and Eve in Medieval Europe by Brian Murdoch Pdf

What happened to Adam and Eve after their expulsion from paradise? Where the biblical narrative fell silent apocryphal writings took up this intriguing question, notably including the Early Christian Latin text, the Life of Adam and Eve. This account describes the (failed) attempt of the couple to return to paradise by fasting whilst immersed in a river, and explores how they coped with new experiences such as childbirth and death. Brian Murdoch guides the reader through the many variant versions of the Life, demonstrating how it was also adapted into most western and some eastern European languages in the Middle Ages and beyond, constantly developing and changing along the way. The study considers this development of the apocryphal texts whilst presenting a fascinating insight into the flourishing medieval tradition of Adam and Eve. A tradition that the Reformation would largely curtail, stories from the Life were celebrated in European prose, verse and drama in many different languages from Irish to Russian.

Madness, Medicine and Miracle in Twelfth-Century England by Claire Trenery Pdf

This book explores how madness was defined and diagnosed as a condition of the mind in the Middle Ages and what effects it was thought to have on the bodies, minds and souls of sufferers. Madness is examined through narratives of miraculous punishment and healing that were recorded at the shrines of saints. This study focuses on the twelfth century, which has been identified as a ‘Medieval Renaissance’: a time of cultural and intellectual change that saw, among other things, the circulation of new medical treatises that brought with them a wealth of new ideas about illness and health. With the expanding authority of the Roman Church and the tightening of papal control over canonisation procedures in this period, historians have claimed that there was a ‘rationalisation’ of the miraculous. In miracle records, illnesses were explained using newly-accessible humoral theories rather than attributed to divine and demonic forces, as they had been previously. The first book-length study of madness in medieval religion and medicine to be published since 1992, this book challenges these claims and reveals something of the limitations of the so-called ‘medicalisation’ of the miraculous. Throughout the twelfth century, demons continue to lurk in miracle records relating to one condition in particular: madness. Five case studies of miracle collections compiled between 1070 and 1220 reveal that hagiographical representations of madness were heavily influenced by the individual circumstances of their recording and yet were shaped as much by hagiographical patterns that had been developing throughout the twelfth century as they were by new medical and theological standards.
