Zuke 'Em-The Colle Zukertort Revolutionized by David Rudel Pdf

For decades, the chess world has run down the reputation of the Colle-Zukertort (a.k.a. The Rubinstein Attack) as an unassuming opening, claiming it did not exact the full measure of pain from Black in the quest to equalize. If such is the case, why do strong players (as Black) avoid the Zukertort? Instead they opt to play any of several pet defenses rather than deal with the constriction and onslaught of the main line. In Zuke 'Em: The Colle-System Revolutionzed, Rudel explains the basics of the Zukertort and then provided plenty of new ideas to address these various pet defenses that cowardly opponents may choose. In this book you will also find: 1.Introductory chapters for those who would not know the Zukertort from a Lemon Torte. 2.Analysis in real English from the perspective of someone who has played the opening exclusively for over a decade. 3.A barrage of never-before-published answers and extensive commentary on common lines. 4.A training section to help you retain and test your understanding of the opening.

Starting Out: The Colle by Richard Palliser Pdf

The Colle is a solid, reliable system of development based on the popular opening move 1 d4. One of its major advantages is that although the system is very easy to learn and play, it leads to exciting middlegame positions where White often launches a violent attack against Black's king. The Colle is a particular favourite amongst club players, but is also seen at grandmaster level; perhaps its most well-known exponents are the former World Championship Candidate Artur Yusupov and the twice World Junior Champion Shakhriyar Mamedyarov. This book is a further addition to Everyman's best-selling Starting Out series, which has been acclaimed for its original approach to tackling chess openings. International Master Richard Palliser examines the fundamentals of the Colle, elaborating on the crucial early moves and ideas for both sides in a way that is often neglected in other texts. The reader is helped throughout with a plethora of notes, tips and warnings highlighting the vital characteristics of the Colle and of opening play in general. Starting Out: The Colle is a perfect guide for improving players and those new to this opening. Written by a Colle expertCovers everything you need to know after 1 d4 d5Concentrates on the basic principles of the opening

Zuke 'Em - the Colle-Zukertort Revolutionized by David I. Rudel Pdf

This is the "Phoenix Attack Edition" of Zuke 'Em: The Colle-Zukertort Revolutionized (ISBN: 1888710357). This new attack promises to be the mainline for the future of the Colle-Zukertort (a.k.a. The Rubinstein Attack). For decades, the chess world has run down the reputation of the C-Z as an unassuming opening, claiming it did not exact the full measure of pain from Black in the quest to equalize. If such is the case, why do strong players (as Black) avoid the Zukertort? Instead they opt to play any of several pet defenses rather than deal with the constriction and onslaught of the main line. The Koltanowski-Phoenix Attack by David Rudel Pdf

In The Moment of Zuke: Critical Positions and Pivotal Decisions for Colle System Players, David Rudel wrote that the main line of the c3-Colle was looking quite grim for White. He proposed that Colle-Koltanowski players should adopt a new idea, meeting 1.d4 d5 2.Nf3 Nf6 3.e3 e6 4.Bd3 c5 5.c3 Nc6 6.Nbd2 Bd6 7.O-O O-O with 8.dxc5 Bxc5 9.b4 , a variation he dubbed the Koltanowski-Phoenix Attack. Rudel promised to write a treatise on this new idea, and-two years later-he has delivered. Koltanowski Phoenix Attack: The future of the c3-Colle is a 250+ page project giving extensive coverage of all critical defenses. Even though the book is long, it is organized in such a way that a player can begin playing the Koltanowski-Phoenix almost immediately. Rudel first gives a "Simple mini-Repertoire" that can be learned in hours, and then he provides more complicated, alternate lines that can be added as the player becomes more experienced with the opening. David Rudel is an authority on the Colle System, Koltanowski-Phoenix Attack: The Future of the c3-Colle being his third book intended for Colle System players.

The Modernized French Defense Volume 1 by David Miedema Pdf

The Winawer variation of the French is reached after 1.e4 e6 2.d4 d5 3.Nc3 Bb4. This is one of the most exciting openings in the game. It's an alternative universe with alternative rules. In return for the Bishop Black gets a rock solid pawn structure and lots of dynamic capabilities. It should not come as a surprise that in these unbalanced fights Black can really play for a win. The groundwork was done by Nimzowitsch, Botvinnik and Kortchnoi in the old days. Nowadays players like Carlsen, So and Mamedyarov still use their ideas with success. People often ask, "does true love exist?" Well, Miedema and the French might be one of those rare examples. Fortunately the love has translated to countless novelties and fighting lines. This is his first volume on the French defence and his debut as an author.

The Colle: Move by Move by Cyrus Lakdawala Pdf

This series provides an ideal platform to study chess openings. By continually challenging the reader to answer probing questions throughout the book, the Move by Move format greatly encourages the learning and practising of vital skills just as much as the traditional assimilation of opening knowledge. Carefully selected questions and answers are designed to keep you actively involved and allow you to monitor your progress as you learn. This is an excellent way to study any chess opening and at the same time improve your general chess skills and knowledge. In this book, International Master Cyrus Lakdawala studies the Colle, one of his favourite opening systems. The Colle is a reliable option for White, and is easy to learn and play. White typically builds on solid foundations before unleashing an attack on the enemy king. This straightforward plan makes it particularly popular at club level, but the Colle is played successfully by Grandmasters too. Lakdawala covers both the main lines and the more aggressive Colle-Zukertort Attack, examines the key positional and tactical ideas for both sides, and tells you everything you need to know about playing the Colle.

The Modernized Marshall Attack by Pavlovic Pdf

This book is about the Marshall Attack and the lines which can be grouped together under the banner of the so-called Anti-Marshall. The theory has developed so much in the last decade that there is more than enough material to be going on with just in those areas, but I also decided to include a detailed look at an important line in the Exchange Variation. Black's key concept in the Marshall is giving up a central pawn in return for activity, and I have tried to give as many lines as possible which adhere closely to this principle. Why is this so significant? Well, for starters, usually in the Ruy Lopez Black is looking for long, slow games in solid, closed positions. The Marshall flips this on its head and Black tries to accelerate the play and radically change the character of the game at an early stage. Let's briefly discuss the material of the book itself and the lines that I have decided to give. First of all, I started off with the standard Marshall Attack, after the initial moves: 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bb5 a6 4.Ba4 Nf6 5.0-0 Be7 6.Re1 b5 7.Bb3 0-0 8.c3 d5. I have given direct analysis wherever possible and I have tried to cover all the essential lines. Of course, with the passing of the years and the continual development of theory we can see how the popularity of some positions has shifted and, in some cases, how certain lines have simply been rendered obsolete. I also discovered, to my surprise, that there are still new, unexplored, and interesting paths for further analysis.

Keep It Simple 1.d4 by Christof Sielecki Pdf

After the success of his award-winning book Keep it Simple 1.e4 International Master Christof Sielecki is back. His new repertoire based on 1.d4 has a similar profile: variations that are straightforward and easy to remember, and require little or no maintenance. Sielecki has created a reliable set of opening lines for chess players of almost all levels. The major objective is to dominate Black from the opening, by simple means. You don’t need to sacrifice anything or memorize long tactical lines. His main concept is for White to play 1.d4, 2.Nf3, 3.g3, 4.Bg2, 5.0-0 and in most cases 6.c4. Sielecki developed this repertoire while working with students who were looking for something that was easy to understand and easy to learn. This new 1.d4 repertoire may be even easier to master than his 1.e4 recommendations, because it is such a coherent system. Sielecki always clearly explains the plans and counterplans and keeps you focussed on what the position requires. Ambitious players rated 1500 or higher will get great value out of studying this extremely accessible book.
