This report, which grew out of the 2001 Wingspread in Racine, Wisconsin, describes student political and civic engagement as defined by students at the Summit. Universities are usually considered bastions of the free exchange of ideas, but a recent tide of demonstrations across college campuses has called this belief into question, and with serious consequences.
