This is a solid general history of the origins of the Second World War. It focuses on the three wars before the war: Ethiopia, Spain, and the Sino-Japanese War in Asia. The magnification increases as the years and months close in on September 1, 1939. The first 20 pages cover the pre-game show years 1920-1932, and by the end of the book, 20 pages are covering the events of three days. I'm a stand-up comedian, and there's some humor in here, but not too much. It's a straight-ahead history book with a little sarcasm sprinkled in and some very lively opinions too. This book is rated G and it's a very sad tale; but one that needs to be told, from the rise of Mussolini to the Nazi-Soviet Pact. I know you will appreciate all the effort that went into this book, and will benefit from reading it.
