The Promise Basket by Bill Richardson Pdf

From award winning author Bill Richardson and highly acclaimed illustrator Slavka Kolesar comes a beautiful story about the love between a mother and daughter where a promise makes the perfect gift. A stone when it’s thrown can damage, can break, but nothing can shatter the promise I make. So begins the poem a mother writes on a scrap of paper. She wraps the paper around a stone and places it in a basket to give to her daughter on her first birthday. They are poor, but the mother is determined that gifts will be given when gifts need giving. She keeps her promise, and the Promise Basket, too. Every time there is a need for gifts, the mother finds a pretty stone to tie up with paper and ribbon, and gives it to her daughter in the basket. She continues the tradition over the years until her daughter has a baby of her own... The love between a mother and her daughter is celebrated in this lyrical story from Bill Richardson, featuring colorful illustrations by Slavka Kolesar. No Trifling Matter by Godfrey B. Tangwa Pdf

No Trifling Matter is a collection of controversial, critical weekly commentary on the reluctance of a monolithic regime to yield to popular aspirations for democracy in Cameroon. In these essays written between 1990 and November 1992, Godfrey Tangwa, alias Rotcod Gobata, doesn't quibble. He comes across as a man of courage and resolve; one ready to swim upstream in a manner of a desperate midwife eager to prevent a still birth (in this case, of democracy). His column is as daring an embarrassment to Biya's "démocratie avancée" as the radio programme "Cameroon Report" (later "Cameroon Calling"), was to Presidents Ahidjo and Biya in the hey days of the "parti unique". Rotcod Gobata believes the time has come for Cameroon to graduate from a country over milked by mediocrity and callous indifference, to the paradise that it was meant to be for the poor and downtrodden. In this regard, he belongs with that rare breed of intellectuals who are genuine in their pursuit of collective betterment, and who in consequence, have opted to distance themselves from the stomach and all its trappings. This position is to be commended and encouraged, especially in a system where explanation is often mistaken for subversion, a system where the stomach is about the only political path-finder - the sole compass in use, a country where the champions of falsehood want all at their beck and call, and where a handful of thirsting palates daily jostle to share with Count Dracula the blood of the common and forgotten. Rotcod Gobata wants the new Cameroon to be rid of the ills and failures of the past five decades that have made it impossible for Cameroonians in their millions to live productive and creative lives.

A Basket of Kola Nuts by Tanla Kishani Pdf

Bold, original and stimulating in its inspirational insights, A Basket of Kola Nuts explores Cameroons cultures as remarkable pivots of moral rectitude and such sickening vicious-circles as bribery and corruption. Ethnically grass-rooted and globalizing rather than alarmingly exotic and exclusive, this poetic diction of form-content aims at revitalizing its material contents to sever it from extinction and revamp cultural values that break the patience of silence to question deviation rather than the concrete interface of cultural identities and differences. Uprightly appealing, this poetry gathers kola seeds that fall apart in crisis to invite readers world-wide to taste its kolaly aroma.

Islamic finance contracts by MONZER KAHF Pdf

"This book deals with an old subject, Islamic Finance contracts. Yet, it is very new and unique in its approach, ideas and arguments. The book classifies Islamic finance contracts in three categories; the first category consists of seven classical finance contracts whose details are given in the classical writings of Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh), although in no other Fiqh publication these contracts are depicted and distinguished as specifically financing contracts. The second category consists of what I call traditional hybrid Islamic contracts which came about as a result of the 1970’s startup stage of Islamic banking and the search of Shari’ah compliant contracts which fit a process of financial intermediation. The third category consists of Islamic finance contracts which came about during the takeoff and open expansion stage of Islamic banking especially in the first decade of the new millennium. The uniqueness of the book comes from its approach of blending the legal description, conditions and requirements of each Islamic Finance contract with the economic and financial circumstances within which the contract fits and also from the emphasis on the financial consequences of each of the Islamic finance contracts. The book is also unique in bringing about comparison with contracts used in the conventional Western style finance transactions. It is an attempt of formulating the main elements of a general theory of Islamic finance which is internally coherent and also consistent with other components of Islamic economics. "

A fantasy adventure, a forgotten masterpiece, based on the medieval Welsh prose pieces known as the Mabinogi. Cynudd Morus real name is Kenneth Morris.
