Speaking of Animals by Robert Palmatier Pdf

No other nonhuman source has served as the basis for more metaphors than animals. Speaking of Animals is a dictionary of animal metaphors that are current in American English. It is comprehensive, historical, and metaphor-based. Each entry refers to the other dictionaries that catalog that same metaphor, and the dates of first appearance in writing are supplied, where possible, for both the metaphor and the name of the source. The main text is organized alphabetically by metaphor rather than by animal or animal behavior; all the metaphors are classified according to their animal source in a list at the end of the book. An animal metaphor is a word, phrase, or sentence that expresses a resemblance or similarity between someone or something and a particular animal or animal class. True metaphors are single words, such as the noun tiger, the verb hog, and the adjective chicken. Phrasal metaphors combine true metaphors with other words, such as blind tiger, hog the road, and chicken colonel. Other animal metaphors take the form of similes, such as like rats leaving a sinking ship and prickly as a hedgehog. Still others take the form of proverbs, such as Don't count your chickens before they hatch and Let sleeping dogs lie. The horse is the animal most frequently referred to in metaphors, followed closely by the dog. The Bible is the most prolific literary source of animal metaphors, followed closely by Shakespeare.

They will all discover whether any magic is more powerful than the human spirit. Have a quick ten years. . . . The Jubilee Principle by Dan L. White Pdf

With the world mired in the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression, people are desperate for answers. But while politicians and investment gurus are stymied to find answers, author Dan L. White turns to the God of the Bible for wisdom to light the way in today's dark times. In The Jubilee Principle: God's Plan For Economic Freedom, White describes the connection between the Bible and the marketplace. White, an expert on Christian stewardship and founder of the Homeschool Helpers ministry, delves into Old Testament history and shows how God's relationship with the Israelites is a model that can offer spiritual and economic liberation for Christians today. As White examines the economic long wave-a boom-and-bust cycle that happens roughly twice a century in free economies-he uncovers the wisdom of the fifty year Jubilee cycle in the Hebrews' economy. Simply put, this was God's plan to spare Israel of the tumult of financial crises, and we can still learn something valuable from His timeless wisdom today.

Kalyug Kand by Bhagwat Sharma Pdf

Kalyug Kand is an epic poem in English, about three hundred pages long. It comes in rhyme and rhythm, like Hindi poetry. English poetry doesn’t come like this. All of its characters are taken from Ramayana. These characters, while speaking in their roles as per episode from Ramayana, in between start speaking of what is wrong with today’s world. This book does not fall into any known category of books. The revelations of this book are not available with the world of scholars. It shows that the world governments’ fight against extremism and terrorism is like fighting flood with firefighting equipment. It tells the extremists and terrorists that they do not know their aims, and what they have taken up is not the question of weapons. The book is written in seven chapters, but its theme is not divided in chapters. It takes up the question of governance of public life and traces its genesis to Rig Veda and Old Testament.
