The Revolt of the Skeletons in the Closet by J. R. Forbus Pdf

In the seemingly peaceful and pleasant town of Wolverhampton, England, an entrepreneur had the brilliant and terrifying idea of creating a Park of Horrors. The idea was the brainchild of Sir Desrius – better known as the “Warlock” – a cruel and unscrupulous man who did not hesitate to imprison monsters and fairy creatures from every corner of the globe to populate the park. For years now, the monsters have been forced to suffer abuse, yet for some time rumors have spread of a rebellion… Dedicated to those who are victims of prejudice, “The Revolt of the Skeletons in the Closet” is a fairy tale that speaks straight to the heart of young and old alike.

«Two skeletons in the closet» of the German reunification. by , V.V.Voronov Pdf

Now, it is about a topic of this work. The big part of text is dedicated to the largest and, I suppose, the most important country in Europe. This is Germany. The fact that Germans had not comprehended their own nature, its basics, led to two world wars, greatest tragedies of the 20th century. But even today one can authoritatively add that they have not studied historical lesson properly. As the last crisis showed, the German «market command economy socially-oriented» is far from the most effective economic systems in the world, the German pension system, was near to collapsing in 2013, but the main example for the above thesis is the German reunification. Still today many Germans are indignant with the Soviet «occupying forces», comrade Stalin, the whole Russia and Russian people over the establishment of GDR. Strange, but they do not remember their own unique contribution to the development of communist doctrine! Were it not for the two key Marxists, Karl Liebknecht, Rosa Luxemburg, Clara Zetkin and some other German activists too, would communism develop in a way it did? May the establishing in the east part of the Germany of the separate «republic of workers and peasants» not be seen as the return of «the spectre of communism», what was glorified by Marx in his famous «manifesto», to its «historical homeland»? Others reasons for charges against Russia are Berlin Wall and East German security service Stasi. But it might have been much worse! For example, the Ulbricht Mausoleum in Alexanderplatz with a mummy of «comrade Walter» inside could be added to this list of «sights of GDR»! And, I am sure, if it happened the «soiled reputation» of Russian folk would become dirtier!

The Memory of Odin by Jason R. Forbus Pdf

It is the third and final year of Fimbulvetr, the long and cold winter that precedes the end of the Nine Worlds. Midgard lies asleep under a thick layer of ice and snow. The city of men have fallen prey to ravenous wolf packs and bloodthirsty marauders. Gods, trolls and giants ready their weapons and magics for the last battle between Order and Chaos. All prepare for Ragnarok, the ultimate clash of the gods. All except Valhalla, whose tall walls are beset by deafening silence ... No singing or clash of swords can be heard. Sitting on his crumbling throne, Odin sleeps a long and dreamless sleep, waiting for the return of his memory from the inscrutable ocean of the universe and with it his strength to stand up to the Nine World and foster the flourishing of a new beginning. The book includes an essay on Norse mythology.

Skeletons in Our Closet by Clark Spencer Larsen Pdf

The dead tell no tales. Or do they? In this fascinating book, Clark Spencer Larsen shows that the dead can speak to us--about their lives, and ours--through the remarkable insights of bioarchaeology, which reconstructs the lives and lifestyles of past peoples based on the study of skeletal remains. The human skeleton is an amazing storehouse of information. It records the circumstances of our growth and development as reflected in factors such as disease, stress, diet, nutrition, climate, activity, and injury. Bioarchaeologists, by combining the methods of forensic science and archaeology, along with the resources of many other disciplines (including chemistry, geology, physics, and biology), "read" the information stored in bones to understand what life was really like for our human ancestors. They are unearthing some surprises. For instance, the shift from hunting and gathering to agriculture approximately 10,000 years ago has commonly been seen as a major advancement in the course of human evolution. However, as Larsen provocatively shows, this change may not have been so positive. Compared to their hunter-gatherer ancestors, many early farmers suffered more disease, had to work harder, and endured a poorer quality of life due to poorer diets and more marginal living conditions. Moreover, the past 10,000 years have seen dramatic changes in the human physiognomy as a result of alterations in our diet and lifestyle. Some modern health problems, including obesity and chronic disease, may also have their roots in these earlier changes. Drawing on vivid accounts from his own experiences as a bioarchaeologist, Larsen guides us through some of the key developments in recent human evolution, including the adoption of agriculture, the arrival of Europeans in the Americas and the biological consequences of this contact, and the settlement of the American West in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Written in a lively and engaging manner, this book is for anyone interested in what the dead have to tell us about the living.

The Fastest Pen of the West [Part Two] by Albino Galuppini Pdf

This is a biography of Bill Kaysing (1922-2005), author of the important book "We never went to the Moon". It tells the whole story of a writer with a very unusual ?alternative lifestyle.? After working for Rocketdyne, Kaysing became a whistleblower regarding the Apollo Space Programme. He completely changed his lifestyle ? to become a ?nonconformist? and began to live a life which many free-thinkers might envy. He lived outside the constraints of the society that most of the rest of us live in. While living in California, he became quite infamous - all over the world as the "father" of the controversial theory of the Moon landing hoax. His extraordinary story is one that gives a fascinating glimpse into certain parts of American society and one that will ?shake the conscience? of any reader who is not aware of the machinations of US corporations and government.

The Great Revolt by Salena Zito,Brad Todd Pdf

A CNN political analyst and a Republican strategist reframe the discussion of the “Trump voter” to answer the question, What’s next? NAMED ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS OF THE YEAR BY FOREIGN AFFAIRS • “Unlike most retellings of the 2016 election, The Great Revolt provides a cohesive, non-wild-eyed argument about where the Republican Party could be headed.”—The Atlantic Political experts were wrong about the 2016 election and they continue to blow it, predicting the coming demise of the president without pausing to consider the durability of the winds that swept him into office. Salena Zito and Brad Todd have traveled over 27,000 miles of country roads to interview more than three hundred Trump voters in ten swing counties. What emerges is a portrait of a group of citizens who span job descriptions, income brackets, education levels, and party allegiances, united by their desire to be part of a movement larger than themselves. They want to put pragmatism before ideology and localism before globalism, and demand the respect they deserve from Washington. The 2016 election signaled a realignment in American politics that will outlast any one president. Zito and Todd reframe the discussion of the “Trump voter” to answer the question, What’s next?
