The Roar of an Uncaged Lion by Frederick HOWARD Pdf
Within the ghettos of America many African American youths are dealing with obstacles, struggles, and undiagnosed mental disorders that influences their development. Although the deleterious effects of poverty are all-encompassing within the African American communities; through the pain, frustrations, and struggles African Americans has and are developing a quite resilience that allows them to grow. My greatest desire and life's passion is to help those of my community that are marginalized and overlooked by the governmental systems and mainstream mental health professionals. I pray that I can bring awareness of the problems of my community such as: generational trauma, drug addiction, gangs, mental illness, family values, poverty, and the lack of resources that is so pervasive within the African American communities. This book is my way of revealing to the world the struggles of one man with the hope that a connection will be made to the struggles of a greater population. I have given my heart and soul to this work and have allowed myself to be completely honest and in some cases vulnerable and transparent. With the hope that some may see themselves through the pages of this book and find hope, courage, and understanding of and in their present situations. My hope is that this book may lead people to realize that each defeat is just an opportunity for triumph; that each struggle they encounter within life is just an opportunity for growth; but the most important thing I wish for people to take from this book, is that no matter where they find themselves at in this moment--God is there with them.

When Anxiety Roars by Jean LISW Holthaus, LMSW Pdf
According to the American Psychological Association, today's children and teenagers are anxious about many things. In addition to the stressors common to any generation--family issues, financial instability, pressure to perform in school or sports--these young people also worry about gun violence, social justice, the state of their divided nation, the fate of a warming planet, and much more. To top it off, recent global events and resulting restrictions have added significant stress even as they have stripped away support systems. For parents, teachers, counselors, and youth leaders longing to understand and help the young people in their lives, When Anxiety Roars unpacks the biological, psychological, social, and spiritual factors that influence anxiety in children and offers specific practical steps to take together to tame that anxiety. Integrating faith with best practices to reduce anxiety, it also teaches coping skills that will help children live more confidently today and into the future.

The Broad Arrow by Jenna Mead Pdf
Caroline Leakey, writing as Oliné Keese, published her first and only novel, The Broad Arrow, in 1859. It tells the story of Maida Gwynnham, a young middle-class woman lured into committing a forgery by her deceitful lover, Captain Norwell, and then wrongly convicted of infanticide. The novel’s title describes the arrow that was stamped onto government property, including the clothes worn by convict – a symbol of shame and incarceration. With its ‘fallen woman’ protagonist, its gothic undertones and its exploration of the social and moral implications of the penal system, this little-known novel gives an insight into a significant chapter of Australian history from a uniquely female perspective. In this new critical edition, editor Jenna Mead restores material that was cut when the novel was reissued in a radically abridged version in 1886, restoring for the first time in over a century the complete original text of Leakey’s important work.
