Miyazawa Kenji and His Illustrators by Helen Kilpatrick Pdf

In Miyazawa Kenji and His Illustrators, Helen Kilpatrick examines re-visionings of the literature of one of Japan’s most celebrated authors, Miyazawa Kenji (1896-1933). The deeply Buddhist Kenji's imaginative dōwa (children’s tales) are among the most frequently illustrated in Japan today. Numerous internationally renowned artists such as Munakata Shikō, Kim Tschang-Yeul and Lee Ufan have represented his stories in an array of intriguing visual styles, reinvigorating them as picture books for modern audiences. Focusing on some of Kenji’s most famous narratives, the author analyses the ways artists respond to the stories’ metaphysical philosophies, exploring the interaction of literature, art and culture. Miyazawa Kenji and His Illustrators is richly depicted with full colour images of the representations of Kenji’s work, making the book a valuable resource on how illustrations shape story, and how these picture books continue to convey the texts’ witty and ironic messages more deeply than the written word alone.

MUNDANE STELLAR ASTROLOGY: The ancient science of Hermes on the secret connections between the stars and their reflections on earthly beings and events by GIACOMO ALBANO Pdf

The techniques of mundane astrology inherited from tradition are not the most suitable for explaining and predicting events, as in reality they only capture the last links in the chain of celestial causes that underlie them. In fact, the primary causes of all events always and only reside in the Eighth Sphere, that is, in the sky of the constellations and fixed stars. In this book, the Stellar Astrology techniques are developed and applied to the real prediction of world events, but also to natal charts. Heaven and the stars that populate it are living beings. The various parts of the starry sky - constellations, parts of constellations (asterisms) and single stars - are not isolated, but communicate with each other, and therefore must be conceived as parts of a community, similarly to the relations between men who live on this earth. Indeed, our communities and our earthly bonds are nothing but the reflection and manifestation of these celestial bonds. And, just as happens between men and between specific groups of men, between some of these parts of the sky there are privileged relationships. This book explains which are the astronomical and astrological factors that highlight these ties of "kinship", thus also indicating the existence of similar relations existing between the things of the world linked to those stars. It is a real science, based on rigorous criteria, and in this book it is illustrated by providing the student with a general method that he can then apply to any person, thing or event he intends to study in depth. It will be seen how the identification of these stellar links is also essential for correctly interpreting a birth chart. Only in this way astrology becomes what it should always be, that is, the sapiential matter par excellence, as the only one capable of explaining and demonstrating the true nature and origin of earthly reality.

The Gospel & the Zodiac by Bill Darlison Pdf

“Darlison elucidates the zodiac’s significant place in the Gospels, most specifically in the Book of Mark . . . An intriguing leap into faith” (Kirkus Reviews). For millennia the world has been driven by the differences between the great patriarchal religions. Western civilization—or Christendom, as it was once called—received its values and its confidence from a belief in God, the Father, and Jesus, his only son. But what if this conviction were founded on an error? Who is the man in the factually inconsistent Gospel stories? And who is the man who makes a brief appearance carrying a jar of water? This extraordinary study by a Unitarian minister suggests that Jesus never existed historically; he was simply a representation of an astrological theology—a representation, simply put, of the zodiac sign of Aquarius. In The Gospel & the Zodiac, Rev. Bill Darlison demonstrates that all the other signs are present too, in perfect zodiacal order. The Gospel story is not the product of historians or eyewitnesses, but an older, mystical text produced by an ancient, esoteric school as a guide to the Age of Pisces. Every bit as revelatory and controversial as it sounds, The Gospel & the Zodiac will shake up the religious status quo, and in doing so, provide both a new look at a religious icon and a deeper understanding of the faith that binds millions together. “Darlison begins by looking at different scholarly approaches to the gospels, then outlines his astrological interpretation logically and lucidly, matching the zodiacal signs to the narrative of Mark.” —Fortean Times
