Nepal Gender Equality and Empowerment of Women Project by Asian Development Bank Pdf
Women in Nepal have long experienced poverty, social exclusion, and marginalization because of their gender, especially among ethnic minorities and low-caste groups. Between 2002 and 2013, the Asian Development Bank and the Government of Nepal developed and implemented the Gender Equality and Empowerment of Women Project to reduce poverty by empowering rural women and members of other disadvantaged groups through an integrated process of economic, social, legal, and political empowerment. This publication presents the case study of that project which contributed to Nepal’s drive to eradicate gender-based inequality.

Women in Nepal by S. Vidya Pdf
2e de couv.: According to the Census 2001 women comprise 50.05 per cent of the total population of Nepal. Social and economic exclusion and violence against women remain salient features of gender discrimination. All sections of Nepal society remain conservative when it comes to ideology of women's sexuality. Inspite of the fact that the Interim Constitution 2007 clearly lays down that violence against women shall be legally punishable. This book therefore aims at making available to our readers up to date innovative and horrifying aspects of women issues in Nepal. Inspite of the constitutional provisions to solve this complex issue status of women has not improved.

Property Rights, Intersectionality, and Women’s Empowerment in Nepal by Pradhan, Rajendra,Meinzen-Dick, Ruth Suseela,Theis, Sophie Pdf
In this paper, we explore how different norms around property rights affect the empowerment of women of different social positions over the life cycle. We first review the conceptual foundations of property, empowerment, and intersectionality, and then present the methodology and empirical findings from ethnographic field work in Nepal. Going beyond formal ownership of property, we look at changes in property rights over personal and joint property at different stages of women’s lives. Finally, the paper makes recommendations for how research and development projects, especially in South Asia, can avoid misinterpreting asset and empowerment data by incorporating nuance around the concepts of property rights over the household life cycle

Gender and the Economic Crisis in Europe by Johanna Kantola,Emanuela Lombardo Pdf
This book is a unique exploration into the gendered politics of the economic crisis in Europe. It focuses, firstly, on the changes in the political and economic decision-making institutions and processes of the EU and their consequences for gender equality policy. Secondly, the book analyses the gendered impacts of austerity politics on member states’ gender equality policies, institutions, regimes, and debates. Finally, it addresses feminist and intersectional struggles and resistances against neoliberal, conservative and racist politics across Europe. The authors consider the gendered politics of the economic crisis from a variety of feminist approaches, shedding new light on the concept of the crisis and on questions of politics, institutions and intersectionality. The case studies included refer to different parts of Europe, from North to South and from East to West, capturing the multifaceted gendered impacts of the crisis. The volume will be of interest to students and scholars of politics, international relations, gender studies, economics, law, sociology, social policy, and European studies.
